One of our service providers, Level3, is currently experiencing technical and
connection problems. Please be patient whilst they try to solve the related
issues. This issue will affect some AW hosted worlds as well as some
connectivity with the web server. This may be related to a downed router on the
East Coast, so as such several users may be affected by this outage.

Well just like my world Elysium or RVR World, they are takes on people's
imaginations and using their own textures and colors to make a place that is
inviting and interesting. Landscapes are nice but very much a plenty. Some of us
like to step into a place and be taken away by it's sheer genius and design and
art value than to see things we can go outside and see everyday, lol It's all in
the mind's eye. If every world looked like Alpha and there was no other choice I
would probably not even be here in AW, lol Which is another good reason to make
worlds cheaper so people with modest incomes can afford a world too cause really
there is nothing like it, and to those of you that say more dead worlds, BS!
It's not about dead worlds, it's about having your own world where you can
upload what you want and create what you want. The value of that is great to be
able to do and I still go to other worlds to see other cit owned worlds and
other AW owned worlds because cit owned worlds are the koolest thing AW has
going for it and AW owned worlds are the only places where you can hold huge
events and not have to pay thru the nose and give your right arm to do it, lol
So, Elysium stays an 8 people only world, they want to charge me about 10
dollars per person. I'm on a fixed income and can't afford to upgrade it to hold
more people and I haven't figured out a way of charging people to get in, lol,
so it's not about having the people there that's for sure, for me, it is being
able to express myself and build in ways I could never build on an AW owned
world. But I don't allow tourists in Elysium either, maybe if AW gave me some
credit for recruiting people that just came in and liked it so much to buy a cit
and get a world then I might consider letting tourists in, but at this point
they don't pay for anything I do and just end up taking up space in my world
where a paying cit should be able to get in, that's the way I feel about it. I
must get up to 20 tourists a day that try to get into Elysium and can't, but if
I could upgrade my world for let's say $2 per person instead of $10 I might be
able to do it or give us world owners an opportunity to have tourists get
citizenships and use us as a reference and credit us with some AW money let's
say, to upgrade my world with, lol I think that sounds fair, but I'm not going
to help get tourists to join when AW does nothing for me. In a years time I
could probably double the amount of people they have in AW now, but there just
is no incentive for me to do it. They aren't giving world owners the credit they
deserve for getting people to give up their 20 bucks a year and become a cit, AW
doesn't do it, we the cits do it and I try to ignore tourists as much as
possible because they have no monitary value to me like it does for AW, that's
the problem in a nut shell. If AW gave me $1 for every tourist I signed up to
get a cit I would have a world that would hold more people and AW would be $19
dollars richer for each one I signed up. But the way it is now, it's not worth
my time and effort helping tourists at all. Like I said, I basically ignore
them, lol Anyone else feel this way?

I will have to agree with you there Chris. If I didn't laugh and smile half as
much as I do, I'd feel alot worse. As far as all this other crap about humor,
well let's put it this way. They have already scientifically proven that people
that laugh and are truly happy live longer and are more able to fight off
disease when the body is under attack. This is a fact. So any of you who havent
joked around today may not be around tomorrow, LOLOL There is no defensive
mechanism about it, some things are truly funny and it is not a defensive thing
to make it funnier or to laugh at it, so although it might be true in some
cases, it deffinitely isn't for all. Being mean and nasty and angry and tough
all the time will give you a heart attack for sure, LOL

Yes you do what you have to do to make it work and it's too bad they wouldn't be
more cooperative with you, but possibly having it on your own server would save
you alot of the problems you had in the past, lol Try to work with someone to
make that happen, you've put the call out. :)

that you can look in your activeworlds folder/cache/art/find the world folder
you are in/textures. There you will see .ras files, only use the name prior to
the .ras as a texture for your objects. Look to see if you have those textures
downloaded in there. If you don't next step would be to find an Object Yard for
that world that may have a texture index.

Well this is my feeling about it in a nut shell. Wether it is judged or voted
apon there is always going to be someone partial to someone in the community
that is going to win even if there was a panel of judges the same would still
hold true. It's still people judging your work and people using their own
prejudices to decide winners. I am simply happy that I had friends that enjoyed
my builds as much as I do to nominate me, and as far as that goes I feel like
I'm a winner either way. Having a statue may be nice but it ain't everything,
lol I get more reward when someone comes to see Elysium and goes "WOW" that to
me is all the reward I need :)

Yes I totally agree with you on this point, no tourists should be allowed to
vote, there is too much of a chance for people to be deceptive if there is not a
citizen number to connect them to. This is how crappy looking builds win I would
say, lol I can make up 50, 100, 200 different email accounts and send them all
in under that instead of my citizen number which of course never changes. Seems
to be a good way to win something if you really wanted it bad enough, lol

Well it's good to know that the IP addys are checked in the case of using
tourist as a way to cast more votes. But if tourist builds cannot be nominated,
I still don't see why they should be allowed to vote. These builds are built by
citizens and should be judged by citizens, if tourists want to vote they should
get a citizenship, just my opinion but I think it's something that should be
changed.

This is what I was accused of after posting an invitation to an event inside AW.
This is what it was:

I posted this 2 times in a period of 2 minutes and it wasn't 1 right after the
other. So not only was I NOT flooding the chat screen, you tell me how this
advertisement was disruptive to the chat at AW Gate, LOL
I first asked them where they were, they replied as you can see, I told them
that there has never been any rules against advertising any AW event inside AW
Gate, she replied as you can see, I said to her that I will report her to her
superiors, pffttt alot of good that will do, so I am bringing it to the
communities attention to see what kind of crap people have to deal with with
these idiot, ego centered, self dictating, Gate Keepers. I told this GK to leave
me alone and to go after someone that is actually causing some kind of real
trouble, unless they have it out for me for some reason which would explain
everything.
AW.com wants people to enjoy coming here and all your GKs have on their mind is
tearing the community apart by telling us what to say and how to say it. Make up
your minds, you either want an Active Community or you don't, don't limit our
ability to bring entertainment to people no matter what world it may be on. I
will continue to post for events in ANY world I want to, so AW.com you better
tell your GK's and PK's to lighten up and stop harassing people for doing so.
It's not nice and it's not right, especially when it's on a world AW.com owns
and operates. These things should not be happening if it is a modest posting of
an event one similar to the one I posted to encourage Community Activity.

B: Goto crowded GZ areas to get more people to attend, or
C: Tgram everyone on your list again. LOL
I think your answer would be "B" I would hope, that being the case means this
can happen to anyone in the community that does it and that is what this is all
about, and I don't want to wait til someone changes shifts to do it, she may be
there again next week at the same time too, but our attendance went from 2 to 16
just because I went to 4 GZ's and advertised the event. That's the difference
between doing it and not doing it. So I will continue to do it to let people
know there is something going on and when and where it is happening.

I don't agree with your first paragraph. I was there, there was no
misunderstanding. More like an out right lie to cover up the truth is more like
it. As far as banning eep, I understanf the F word very well and I know how it
can be used to hurt people, there was no misunderstanding there that made eep
use the profanity he used to abuse and insult people with. He deserved the
threat made by Facter to ban him.
But for the rest I do agree that misunderstandings can be the cause of many
problems. It can also be the cause for many things to be brought to the surface
as well. Being silent about things wether they are misunderstandings or not are
also not healthy for any community. Putting your cards on the table and saying
"Hey what's up with this or what is this problem?" can solve alot more if you
are willing to have a descent debate without all the mud slinging and flame
throwing.
