Nope but AW.com supports SCUM that is what I have noticed, they let them
teach at the AWSchool and swear defamatory words at people and force good people to deal with them becuase they simply don't want to deal with it, instead they reward them. Gee that makes alot of sense right, sounds pretty bad when you put it that way, and it is. AWCI needs to clean up their act before they expect everyone else to. [View Quote] Newsgroup Charter...Jun 8, 2001, 9:24am
Nornny, please, I don't want to get into an arguement with you about this,
but any good he may do still does not give him the right to swear at every post and any person he wants to. The words he uses I would never say to anyone in public and it is really the lowest form of SCUM to even use it to defame someone. I may be wrong but I don't think so, lol [View Quote] A brighter and better Active Worlds!!! Tom, please readJun 7, 2001, 3:39am
My God those Goreans are a bunch of brainwashed sickos, LOL Unbelieveable
really that people can be so prehistoric like, lol But you see how Sassy tries to justify having porn on a public build world by trying to say she has seen death pictures, but death pictures as long as they aren't nude or real pictures with real blood and are not sexually explicit are not illegal, porn is. And if I remember correctly there are also signs posted at WildAW's GZ saying porn will be removed from that world if anyone reports it to Tom at activeworlds.com and I post the deffinition of pornography again for those of you who are still unclear what it is........... Main Entry: por·nog·ra·phy Pronunciation: -fE Function: noun Etymology: Greek pornographos, adjective, writing about prostitutes, from pornE prostitute + graphein to write; akin to Greek pernanai to sell, poros journey -- more at FARE, CARVE Date: circa 1864 1 : the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement 2 : material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement 3 : the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction <the pornography of violence> This is your brain, this is your brain reading the deffinition of pornography, is there any question about what it is now? Textures or pictures with nude women or men wether they are drawn or sitting in a chair getting their picture taken is pornography, I don't care how AW.com wants to justify it, it is what it is. I know people are going to call it art, and yes I will agree with you that pornography is an art form no doubt, but it is still pornography. [View Quote] A brighter and better Active Worlds!!! Well I am going to have to agree with Marcus on this one. If people are
willing to say something to you then they are always at risk that what they have said is being recorded. It is a part of this program and every other chat program on the net. When a PK asks me for chat logs or the tgrams someone has sent me, I don't go running to the person that sent them and say, Can I please give your chat or tgrams in my logs to a PK? lol Don't be ridiculous, I send them to the PK without the persons consent, why, because all conversation and all tgrams are known to the user as possible ways of recording what they have to say. That prior knowledge gives any and all Citizens the right to use that as evidence or information regarding something that took place in a conversation. Marcus is not the first to do it in this NG and won't be the last, but for some reason this is the first time I have seen anyone take any kind of slack over it cause the person that had the porn did not like him posting it, LOL I don't see any surprise there, of course they aren't going to like it but it is well known that chats and tgrams are logged and recorded and can be used for or against you. Sounds like you did everything humanly possible Marcus and I can understand
why you brought it to our attention in the NGs. It is AWCI's responsibility to remove porn whenever present in Public build worlds, especially ones owned by themselves. The fact that you had to go outside of AW to have it removed is appauling. Like I stated in another post here, AWCI needs to clean up their act first before they expect everyone else to, that means standing behind their rules and enforcing them instead of turning a blind eye to some and not to others which is exactly in my expierience is what they are doing. That is why I had to take matters into my own hands just as you did with this and start my SAW website. If AWCI would have taken care of the problem months ago I wouldn't have had to take care of it for them. They call these people friends but who needs friends like that when you have enemies, lol I think they need to get a better set of friends or they are going to continue to drag them down with them. It's very disfunctional and has lots of codependancy issues, AWCI needs a good shrink, lol [View Quote] Murasaki 3D new addyJun 7, 2001, 2:59am

An interesting questionJun 22, 2001, 3:22pm
LOL good luck, you'll get flamed for this being off topic or something,
lolol I would say just read the NGs and see what problems arise and try to fix them. I don't think you can do any more than that. I worked in customer service for years and it is a thankless job most of the time, I just enjoyed helping people just as I do for free in AW now, lol So not only do you get a nice paycheck every week ,I'm sure, you can also help people, what more could you ask for. I think AW citizens do alot of this technical support too just by sharing information to new users or what have you. They don't go to you, they go to someone that's been here for a while in the remote vicinity. I get questions asked of a technical nature everyday in AW too and I don't get paid for it, so feel fortunate enough that you do, lol Being bitched at is just part of the job facter, what can I tell ya, lol [View Quote] An interesting questionJun 22, 2001, 6:36pm
Can't disagree with you there Sred, they got a nice little monopoly on
things, even with Blaxxun Contact you buy the Universe software as a 1 time purchase. None of this keep shoveling money into pockets every year. VRML is good and could be better but atleast the company that owns that product doesn't keep you locked into payments every year to use it. So I do consider what AW.com has here is a monopoly. No one can use the software without having to be affiliated in some way to AW.com forever being that they host all the universes out there. I can't buy the software and go my own way, nope doesn't work like that with AW.com's software so it's not like I have a choice because I do happen to like this software over another. But I nor anyone else but AW.com actually owns this software. It's all owned by AW.com. You cannot buy the software anywhere that I am aware of. So as long as they have a monopoly on everything it will be their way or the highway :) [View Quote] An interesting questionJun 24, 2001, 6:36am

I have now about 97% or very close to it, an automated radio station that works WELL with the AW browser, using one of about 6 different kinds of low-ram players and mp3 formats. You should have a LEAST 56k or better to run streaming audio. I also have 2 positions in staffing open. See the website for details. Well that's what happens when you use "create sound", try using "create noise"
instead of using lots of "create sound" objects to make the volume the same further away from the object the midi url is on. "Create noise" will keep the volume at the same level for midis and not play ones further away that also have "create noise" on them. Another way to spread noise around is to put "create sound midiurl name=midi" (or any other thing you want to name it) and on surrounding objects put "create name midi". This will create a neat stereo effect too like surround sound. Hope this helps :) [View Quote] midi playing bug foundJul 10, 2001, 10:50pm

Yes all this over what? 1 sentence in html. I have heard everyones dumb reasons
for not allowing people to post in html but here's a simple FACT. If it was allowed you would not have all the problems with people starting a thread like this to begin with. The extra $40 dollars they spent wasn't because of the person that posted the 1 html message it was from all the people attacking him, LOL So, you want to stop it, make html an acceptable tool in this NG or continue spending your money on idiots trying to attack someone, it's your choice but wether me or marcus or kmissle are here or not there will always be someone in this NG that will start a post in html and start this crap all over again. So pull your head out of your asses and deal with the reality of it and make it acceptable for this NG only because it will spare the Eropeans any future cause for something like this to begin with. That's my 2 cents that makes more sense than any reason not to have html allowed in this NG. And if you can't understand that, your head is still up your ass.
