barely, mabey they could offer it rarely like when they offer z objects for
a day =) Textured Street Objects in AlphaWorldJan 11, 2001, 1:06am
Yea you can't just change an object's looks after it's been used millions
and millions of times in the world. I do some fancy street stuff, putting the street code color on objects (create color 292929), so if it because textured, I'd have to go change all those objects that are in sync with the roads. but...I think it's worth it, I want them textured, but I don't think everyone else would. Textured Street Objects in AlphaWorldJan 11, 2001, 4:47am
lol, that sucks, the masking command too has caused the hundred upon hundred
of abandonded areas in alphaworld to look silly. New fontsJan 15, 2001, 5:45pm
I wish we could choose the font style on signs. For example:
create sign bcolor=_____ color=_____ font=_____ New fontsJan 15, 2001, 8:01pm
I'm not talking about all the 500 fonts, lol, just the basic system fonts,
like 8 or so. New fontsJan 15, 2001, 8:02pm
Oh, and, AW could simply give you those fonts in the download anyway, their
small. New fontsJan 17, 2001, 3:57am
Arg what are you guys talking about? AW would give you a SELECTION of
fonts, not every font on the web. And when it says "you need to update AW, blah blah blah" you get the fonts AW lets you use and the font files would detect your font directory and go there... New fontsJan 17, 2001, 9:50pm
And how is that any different from our selection of textures and objects
that AW has provided us? If they want use another font, big deal, it's better than only getting one choice. Your argument is stupid, why wouldn't you want this? New fontsJan 18, 2001, 9:56pm
Whatever, it's just a stupid little tid bit I'd like that I doubt would ever
happen, what I had in mind hasn't changed though, I should have just worded it differently... New fontsJan 28, 2001, 11:29pm
hehe great idea indeed. But at AWs current developement rate, we won't be
seeing that in our lifetime, lol =P backdropsJan 28, 2001, 5:53am
Yes it is possible. I've seen animated backdrops in alphaworld many times.
I don't know how to do it though, sorry. I have made animated JPGs before but backdrops are a different story, since they're are so long and thin. To make an animated JPG, you just make the first frame a perfect square (say 100x100), then make the 2nd frame below it. Then your picture is 100x200. The 3rd frame would make your picture 100x300, etc. World Upgrade renewal ConfirmationJan 28, 2001, 11:59pm
I think that's just a warnng that your world is going to expire, isn't it?
ShadowsJan 31, 2001, 9:40pm
I bet shadows would really hurt performance, considering a lot of games,
especially older ones, gave you the option to turn shadows on or off. ROTATE allowed.Feb 3, 2001, 6:53pm
It's time for AW to do countless things eep, we know already, we all know =P
Speed Limit!!!Feb 3, 2001, 6:51pm
I've done the math for this a long time ago. When your holding ctrl on the
ground, you go about 41 mph, lol... Speed Limit!!!Feb 3, 2001, 10:55pm
You do to have a ruler. You count how many coords you went in a second (or
two) by looking at your position. Or if you want to be more exact, use a bot to tell you your exact coords. Speed Limit!!!Feb 4, 2001, 7:26pm
what the hell, are you some kinda idiot? You just do the converations from
coords to meters to feet, then from seconds to hours, it's not that hard. Speed Limit!!!Feb 4, 2001, 7:58pm
Making an even bigger fool of yourself you. It's not inaccurate, you use a
little tool called a converter smart guy. Speed Limit!!!Feb 6, 2001, 11:43pm
If you want more accurate timing, time yourself in the middle of nowhere, so
your computer doesn't lag from objects. Speed Limit!!!Feb 7, 2001, 3:44am
That and you can measure it with objects. For example a pole1m03.rwx is 1
meter long. pp01 is 4 meters long. pp01m is 8, pp01m_h is 10. It also shows raw meters on your altitude. Speed Limit!!!Feb 7, 2001, 9:51pm
Yea...but it carries from computer to computer. I could barely even turn
around in my city on my ol' p1 133mhz... selective maskingFeb 3, 2001, 10:54pm
I wish you could mask out HTML colors from jpg pictures. For example if you
made a plant image, and you wanna mask out the black background, you would do something like create picture www.something.com/plant.jpg mask=black selective maskingFeb 4, 2001, 12:05am
When I said black, I meant the HTML code for it: 0
I see what you mean I kinda thought about this. I have a jpg template picture and I edit text and graphics into it, it for a newspaper. Everytime I use it, the colors get worse and worse and more fades and blended....Perhaps instead of just 1 color to mask, it could just mask everything around it, specified by the code. For example have it also mask out 20 shades of black instead of just one. create picture www.something.com/plant.jpg mask=0 shades=20 Also, Ananas, I've seen many HTML color convertors on the web. It take any color and turn it into an HTML color code... selective maskingFeb 4, 2001, 12:09am
Forgot something, it would be 20 shades in both directions from the original
color you put in. Raise or lower the RGB equally to find the closest shades. selective maskingFeb 4, 2001, 5:03am
And I bet AW would jump at it since it would give em an excuse to not have
to make 2d objects anymore, hehe... Scale in action commandFeb 4, 2001, 6:14am
It would have to be in the action line. They havent added anything to
building properties window, cause if they do, they would have to re-write the cache system, and I dunno if they can do that. I'm only guessing though, feel free to correct me. |
