For those of you that read my post about needing custom avs a few weeks ago
or even if you didn't. I chose aura lily to make the avs as a 600 dollar deal, we made the deal I would pay her 80$ every month (this was about 2 and a half weeks ago) and so I sent her the 80$ to start and then she sent me a gram the next day saying she would have a rough mesh to show me the 4th of dec. however she didn't. I was patient and sent her grams as well as e-mails and no answer, I was also patient to post this but apparently with no answer what so ever from her I feel a need to post this. And I am really starting to feel she ripped me off, I am going to keep being patient but if I get no answer in the next couple of weeks I am going to take further action about this... 80 dollars is a lot of money, not to mention I had a lot of things to pay this month and was out money so I used my credit card. If anybody that is reading this knows her, please help me. thanks. syntaxDec 13, 2005, 6:55pm
It is a lot of money... why didn't you get her **Phone Number**? :P

Or better yet, usually how people do business deals now over the
internet .. it's best to wait until the artist or other person shows you some form of work or product result before money is put down on the table. [View Quote] tag svaDec 13, 2005, 9:46pm
ive heard of aura lily but dont know her so cant help you out sorry John.
i use an escrow service for all my transactions it garantees both sides of the transaction fees for $600 = $25 which is normally split so both parties pay half. https://www.escrow.com/index.asp john tiradoDec 13, 2005, 10:17pm
Yeah, this service sounds good but the seller could send you a blank rwx
file and they would get the payment [View Quote] strike rapierDec 13, 2005, 10:31pm
I recon at some point over christmas I will set up a few pages on my website
where people can register, and people leave suitable comments about their production service. Thats why I only deal with proven reputable modelers. I rather pay more for
an object that is done by the best modelers. You never know what u r getting from unknown modelers. You dont want a model thats gonna freeze up your puter either. And the modelers I use make great objects with low verts. [View Quote] john tiradoDec 13, 2005, 11:30pm
Well Aura Lily is well known by some good modelers like Star Heart she got
him interested in wings... But she might be a bit psycho I guess. [View Quote] colorDec 14, 2005, 12:10am
Dear John,
So sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience. Just thought I would share some of my own views. Making business deals, especially of the sort where you are investing $600 of your own hard earned money, I would require a written contract with that person.( Snail mail) Something concrete you could use in the circumstance they would fail to follow through with their end of the deal. This would become your legal document to follow up recapturing any investments you put forward. This is a way to protect yourself from fraud. Email is good but might not be as good as a paper in your hand legally(although Im not a lawyer). Having handed over $80 to a stranger and recieving no reply to your concerns. I would consider the negotiations to be ended, since they have shown themselves to be unreliable. I wouldn't continue with them. Granted, circumstances happen in life that cause us to be late on emails, but they made sure to get the money didn't they? Unfortunately, you might have learned the hard way that everyone is not what they seem online. Some are not as honest as others and even some people have lessor morals and rip people off. Good luck resolving this and I hope you keep yourself safer by using a contract. Sincerely, Pamela (CoLor) [View Quote] > Yeah, this service sounds good but the seller could send you a blank rwx > file and they would get the payment [View Quote] sweDec 14, 2005, 12:55am
Yep, paying blindly isn't the smartest. usually, in such places are
Rentacoder, the buyer doesn't pay fully until the whole project is complete, and approved. unless ofcourse,t hey agree to pay in stages. but seeing how this is a single model, should only pay when you get something and are happy with the product. -SWE [View Quote] aura lilyDec 14, 2005, 3:40am
I just sent refund of your 80 dollars.
Circumstances beyond my control have delayed your avatars. You might be better off buying them elsewhere. Thanks you [View Quote] sw chrisDec 14, 2005, 5:59am

Well I guess this post helped but honestly I'm quite dissapointed that you
just faded away for 2 weeks not answering grams, e-mails, etc. [View Quote] tart sugarDec 14, 2005, 1:58pm
Perhaps it couldn't have been avoided. She did say, "Circumstances beyond my
control..." [View Quote] john tiradoDec 14, 2005, 5:08pm
True true, sugar... Lets say her internet had a major outage... she could of
worked on them meanwhile it got working and once she came online had a bunch of stuff done, or go to an internet cafe for 5 mins to email me back. [View Quote] sweDec 14, 2005, 8:06pm
there are other circumstances not involving internet or computer problems.
Could have been way too preoccupied to even go next to a computer. Could have also been something that got her too depressed to even want to go next to a computer. just saying, don't be quick to critisise. -SWE [View Quote] lady nighthawkDec 16, 2005, 4:23am
For the record, I've been a customer of Aura's in the past ... her dragons
rock! She dealt quickly & honestly with me and has gone way out of her way to make me happy. And I do mean waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of her way. I thank her for what she has done for me :o} If Aura says "Circumstances beyond my control have delayed your avatars..." you can take that to the bank as far as I'm concerned. And she did refund your money. All I can say to Aura is I hope she's ok ... now she has me worried :o| *waits for gram that she's ok* Lady NightHawk [View Quote] |
