Wow....listen to all you haters. Everyone is so eager to bash America based
on our head guru's decisions. Well, just for your info, George Bush isn't the United States, we, the people are. And here's my point. Every newsgroup user in here was so quick to lash out on a controversial issue that they ended up offending me, and my country without first getting any facts. I personally contribute to foreign countries for food and medicine. My government doesn't tell me to do that nor does it give me any 'perks' because I do. We keep lashing out at fellow citizens who are part of OUR country (activeworlds) almost in a terrorist manner, with aims to destroy. Why? Are we that angry? Let's take a step back and look at for what reasons the newsgroups were meant. Which of the following just doesn't fit in? 1. Hey everybody! Invitation to Party in MadeUpWorld! Come all and have fun! Best dj's playing for free! 2. I'd like to show everyone my newest build that I'm proud of at AW 00000N 00000W....... 3. I've modeled a new castle set that I think everyone would like. Please stop in for a gander.......... 4. Free sprites for everyone! http://fake.address.com 5. If you weren't such a f**king idiot, I'd beat the s**t outta you. C'mon. Let's all play nice. Look at what you all went 'postal' over! A copy of an email that has been circulating for 4 years. Haha. That's funny. That's like me all of a sudden getting mad at Winston Churchill for what he said at breakfast years ago. (I have no idea what he said at breakfast, in case he ever did) Let's all put away the big sticks....it's time we all came together and worked as one unit to improve our 'community' as a whole...not single out someone for remarks they made. Blanket statement, clearly false. I didn't lash out on the post in
question (and I'm a newsgroup user). > I personally contribute to foreign > countries for food and medicine. My government doesn't tell me to do that > nor does it give me any 'perks' because I do. What happens when you donate to charities? Don't you get to deduct that from your tax? I'd consider that to be a perk provided by the government. > We keep lashing out at fellow citizens who are part of OUR country > (activeworlds) almost in a terrorist manner, with aims to destroy. Why? Are > we that angry? I see you're lashing out at the community for lashing out. Are you suggesting that you're a terrorist? ubermonkeyJul 26, 2005, 3:11pm
Allow me to step in and make my traditional crowd-displeasing remarks.
Surely, you didn't think you could post these things without getting my attention, did you? You haven't the slightest clue what's going on outside; there's a fire burning, and I don't suggest you step out the door if you don't want to burn with it. Come back when you have serious information on the state of the world. Come back when you are prepared to discuss the core issues of our current timeline, not the symptoms of perpetual disease. The average person is far better off knowing next to nothing about the course of history, so I sincerely suggest you step down. [View Quote] Indeed, let us "play nice." You don't understand what you're doing; society is on edge like never before, set into motion by the amazing communication power of the internet. We don't need anymore people throwing matches into the streets, regardless of whether they're "compassion flares" or pipebombs. If you want to talk about the issues of society, then stand up and give us a hand, because at this point, we could use all the help we can get. We need scientists, mathematicians, historians, engineers, and linguists, but not pyromaniacs. -HT roadkillJul 26, 2005, 3:19pm

The funniest thing I ever heard contributed to Chuchill was when at some
sort of function, a woman told Churchill he was drunk. He replied... And you, madam. are ugly. However, when I awake in the morning I shall be sober. ROFL strike rapierJul 26, 2005, 7:23pm

I know they want it all 'nice' but IMO that scene was disturbing and would
make me turn right around and leave. IMO AWGate should be engaging, with people discussing things (other than the weather) and topics that will make people stay to partake in them, and return to partake in others. Gate also needs a chess and checkers bot which would be BRILLIANT, as well as more aware GK's. AWGate needs to engage the people that come by and encourage them to register - not make them feel like they are in VR Tellytubby land which will just make them thing something along the lines of 'freaks' and leave; and the business logic behind this: Since when did 8 year olds have credit cards? If anyone DOES want to sit about and hug all day, I will be glad to make something that puts you in a loving cuddly environment, where no chat line may have less than 64 consecutive ( and )'s. Meanwhile AWGate can engage the visitors. Yes, I know a fair few will be annoyed by this, and I know there is a substantially high probability of Lioness saying I need hugging :O oh wellz. -- - Mark Randall http://zetech.swehli.com [View Quote] sw comitJul 27, 2005, 3:09am

How many members of the Bush Administration are needed to replace a
lightbulb? The Answer is SEVEN: (1) One to deny that a lightbulb needs to be replaced, (2) one to attack and question the patriotism of anyone who has questions about the lightbulb, (3) one to blame the previous administration for the need of a new lightbulb, (4) one to arrange the invasion of a country rumored to have a secret stockpile of lightbulbs, (5) one to get together with Vice President Cheney and figure out how to pay Halliburton Industries one million dollars for a lightbulb, (6) one to arrange a photo-op session showing Bush changing the lightbulb while dressed in a flight suit and wrapped in an American flag, (7) and finally one to explain to Bush the difference between screwing a lightbulb and screwing the country. the derekJul 28, 2005, 4:17am
