Hey guys, I have a theme song I made on a beginner midi software, of course,
I suck at it, but I was wondering if anybody out there who has talent could
remake it. Try making it with better quality and more ambient sounds.
*listens in the background with big eyes* oh I love ambient sounds. Lemme
know if you can thanks! =]

What software did you use?
It is not so bad, I could imagine it as background music in some "yet
another shark movie" or "yet another psycho is after a young girl with big
boobs movie"

[View Quote] I think so... I had some sort of midi studio with my SB package. That was in the
good ol' days of 386's.

Cakewalk is excellent for begginers, or people with no musical talent
what-so-ever (whichever you may be). The problem with Cakewalk is you can't
do dynamics and its hard to use if you are not used to it - also there are
other subtle differences, just try transposing sheet music into it.

Sibelius is good, but expensive, and you'll need musical knowledge.

Regarding the actual MIDI, well its different, but the best background
themes are actually music, as apposed to crappy sound effects.

Well, I actually use CubaseSX, and have only tinkered with Cakewalk..it
annoyed me because it was so simple..but for someone like Seiya it would
probably be perfect to start out with, and it has a hell of a lot of
features...

eh, cubasesx 1.0 has a few midi problems though...but that timing problems
with external gear...grr

Sound Blaster has a good hardware midi synthesizer. So do some of the older
ESS #### sound cards, where number is the model name, like 1870 or something
like that. I had an ESS card that apparently had the same midi definitions
as the Nintendo 64 hardware did, because any video game midis I played on my
computer came out exactly like the video game music.
