PRESENTING THE FIRST **PERMANENT** MULTIMEDIA-ENHANCED BUILD....

Sep 2, 2004, 9:24pm
It doesn't matter whether they happen or not. It doesn't effect whether you
should quote someone or not. :P

Oh, how mature to resort to insulting someone that was just discussing
something with you. It shows your level of reasoning right there, bud. :P

I hope to see you back once the incompetent AWCamp managers wake up and give
you your prize :)

Meh, I think until technology improves, these AW TV stations will remain
popular among many of the newcomers. Many of them still remain popular
today. I mean I find myself watching those AW tv stations at times. I
don't build a single TV even in an area full area without adding some sort
of TV php script on it

Just read the whole thing, or at least the first and last post. It gives
some good insight/bitching on this whole matter.

Care to explain how? :P Is there anyway you can *prove* to us that it was a
missle? It's obvious that the flash thing was nothing but a conspiracy
theory, and I love how you manage to somehow slip Bush into it too.

Somewhat proof of 9/11 was somewhat lies, the FBI lies, and Bush lies..

Sep 3, 2004, 11:16am
That's not proof of anything. That's just inconclusive evidence that could
support either theory. Anyway it's obvious you don't know your stuff if you
think it was a intercontinental 747 that crashed into the Pentagon :P

Somewhat proof of 9/11 was somewhat lies, the FBI lies, and Bush lies..

Sep 3, 2004, 10:40pm
Another conspiracy theory, you mean, with no reasonable evidence that could
reasonably support your theory. Despite how convincing it may sound, the
flash thingy had no reasonable evidence to support such a conspiracy. :P

If the government really wanted to cover it up, then why wouldn't they just
be smart and make huge scorch marks in the grass as well? They aren't
stupid, you know.

Just to let you all know, they sent fighters to the hijacked planes, but
they could not reach the planes in time.

Like I said, where is your proof? The funny thing about conspiracy theories
is that you can make up whatever the hell kind of theory you want, and not
show any type of proof, claiming that "the big guys covered it up!!"
Another popular one is "all the media are lying to you!"

Movie / AW Ratings...

Sep 3, 2004, 11:18am
Just wanted to comment: Thank you for responding to more of the NG posts as
of recently ^_^

Problem with AW regarding huge links..

Sep 5, 2004, 8:35pm
If someone sends a huge link by telegram, such as
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?PID=1112697&catalogId=2501&params=100x100generic&productId=109777&referredURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.argos.co.uk%2Fwebapp%2Fwcs%2Fstores%2Fservlet%2FArgosCreateReferral%3FstoreId%3D10001%26langId%3D-1%26referrer%3DCOJUN%26params%3Dadref%253DPersonal+care-%3EElectric+toothbrushes%26referredURL%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.argos.co.uk%2Fwebapp%2Fwcs%2Fstores%2Fservlet%2FProductDisplay%253FstoreId%253D10001%2526catalogId%253D2501%2526productId%253D109777%2526langId%253D-1&langId=-1&referrer=COJUN&AID=10294381&storeId=10001

It crashes AW.. Does this happen to anyone else?

Problem with AW regarding huge links..

Sep 6, 2004, 3:19am
I'm just saying that it shouldn't crash AW to simply click a long link lol..
Might this have something to do with a URL being too long for the text box
in the web window?

Problem with AW regarding huge links..

Sep 7, 2004, 3:52am
I think it might be forcing too much text into the web window text bar, so
instead of cutting off the end of the url, it simply crashes.

AW Spiral Staircase

Sep 7, 2004, 10:34pm
If you look in the first edition AW newsletter from 1998, it says that AW
accepted objects from a free donation from one of the active worlds users.
I was just thinking, shouldn't AW continue to accept new objects from people
who donate them with registry and all? If you ask me, it soulds like a good
opportunity to accept objects from donations. I do not see any reason why
AW should abstain from this opportunity.

Bleh screw this contest lol. They use lag as a judging factor, which
basically means that anyone with a hot rod machine will be lag-blind, and
will get points taken off for things that he or she had no idea existed in
his or her build. This is not a fair contest for those who are
detail-oriented ;)

AFantasy World's 2004 Building Contest & Halloween Party!!!!

Sep 10, 2004, 8:55pm
Telegram from Sexy Eyes, sent just now:

I am sorry that your builds lag terribly. Blaming others for your lagging is
wrong. I don't lag anywhere in activeworlds on any worlds but your build
area I teleported to locked me up, and I have a very fast system, and video
card is one of the best. What you need to do is find out what is lagging,
and why in your builds, and I am sorry but I can't allow you to build in the
contest here if you have no sense of what lagging is, and how to address it.
I address lagging by optimizing my graphics in my world, not using large
files for music etc in my builds, and not max out objects in the build in
one cell. I have been a builder and world owner in Activeworlds for over 10
years now, and I have never encountered a lagging build as high as yours
yet. You need to find someone who can help you figure out how to lower the
lag on your builds... I want this contest to go smoothly. Frankly I felt you
have a problem with rules, in general, as you refuse to even give a first
name...

Look at that, Sexy Eyes bars me from a contest simply because my computer is
so fast that I cannot see lag. :) That just shows the kind of fairness that
has been prevalent in recent AW contests.

Umm no she's not jealous at all X_X It's just her opinion that lag is
somehow a fair judging factor, and I think it's not.

Wait, if one lagging build will effect all the neighboring builds, then
wouldn't that just be even more reason to take lag off of the judging
criteria? Because that would mean that someone could ruin the chance of
someone else winning simply by making an extremely laggy build in the next
lot. How would you have any idea where the lag is coming from?

Update to AFantasy's 2004 Building Contest Rules

Sep 10, 2004, 11:50pm
Yeah it's nice to finally see a contest that makes a real effort to make
things as fair as possible. That is not common in most contests today, with
the few that exist.
