An idea about AW celebrating 10th anniversary...

J P told me that AWI will be around long enough for our grandchildren to
use.

An idea about AW celebrating 10th anniversary...

I see R i c h a r d as some sort of grumpy person who sits on the porch with
a shotgun. "yeh optimistic varmits *blam*"

Very strange bug..

Sep 11, 2004, 10:29pm
I was bored and was making a tall prefab tower in AWTeen using those
townhouse objects, and I was building it to around 470 meters. But, then
the whole top of the tower disappeared and the top object left on the tower
was 324 meters. I went underground and found that all of my objects somehow
got transferred to -300 meters. This is not the first time it has happened.
I built the top again and it happened again. Anyone have any idea what is
going on? This is a very strange bug.

But shouldn't it stop be from building above that height instead of allowing
it for a few minutes then moving it down underground?

Very strange bug..

Sep 12, 2004, 8:27am
But isn't it strange that the objects are being "teleported" to far
underground instead of just disappearing?

Very strange bug..

Sep 12, 2004, 5:04pm
Hmm thanks for explaining all of that. That must be the same thing that
happens with terrain when you try to make it higher than 300 meters.

Hopefully this is a start of AWI accepting more object donations to alpha
world. Alpha World is really behind and needs all the help it can get.

They are part of Lara's prize. I think Lara should be given some credit.
If it wasn't for her, we probably would never see these objects uploaded to
the AW op.

It took AWI overnight to update the registry for AWTeen which had been
requested the previous night. Surely they can be as efficient with Alpha
World

AWTeen's registry is *much* larger than Alpha World's. They keep getting
objects added every day, so their OP must be over 3 times larger than Alpha
World's.

Taking extremely long to log into Active Worlds...

Sep 12, 2004, 8:07pm
The NGs and the Active Worlds homepage work fine, but when I try to log into
active worlds, it take a very long time, around 5 minutes to connect. Other
people I know are having the same problem. Does anyone know what is going
on?

Terrain in AlphaWorld?

Sep 13, 2004, 1:35am
I agree that terrain would be a nice addition to Alpha World, but, I would
like to list some issues involved with adding terrain.

1: Terrain has a very far visibility. In AWTeen it is 800 meters I believe.
If some n00b makes a terrain spike, it isn't as simple as reducing the
visibility to remove the ugliness.
2: Alpha World is huge, with over 4 billion cells. I'm not sure how much of
a strain it would be for a demeter bot to manage a world of such size.

... That's all I can think of, as a matter of fact. O_o

Letter to President Enzo

To disallow voice chat simply because you have a disability is like someone
in a wheelchair demanding the world remove stairs. I think it should be a
feature if the vast majority can use it. And, anyway, I am going to have
that annoying voice chat disabled, so they can just take their sweet time
typing out what they so desperately want to tell me.

How much would it cost for you to turn this vast 10x10 flat terrain I have
into a giant terrain spike?

A.W. 2004 Economic Report (Final Revised Edition)

Sep 15, 2004, 3:58am
How can you possibly say that the town building "industry" is stable?

A.W. 2004 Economic Report (Final Revised Edition)

Sep 15, 2004, 4:00am
Also, at what previous time are you comparing these "industries" in order to
determine whether they are increasing/decreasing? Where are some
statistics?

A question for you all...

Sep 17, 2004, 6:09am
The number has reduced, but it doesn't really change what worlds people want
to go to, as 900 of them only has 1 user max at any given time. Most of
them also seem to be 3d homepages, and people are tired of exploring those.
If you ask me, we need fewer worlds and more users, because it gets boring
when there are fewer people in a chat area >_<

Events confirmed so far....

Agreed for the most part, jstone. Though it is quite tactless, as you put
it, to add new objects to the alpha world OP, then remove them a few days
later, along with access to the OP. I am not automatically accusing them of
anything right now, as right now I am hoping that it was some freak accident
that they will fix in a few days.

I agree with Ryan. The paths of those hurricanes are very distorted to fit

Boggle at why you even post this stuff on the NGs.

You seem so worried that your reputation will be destroyed by some joke
site. It becomes apparent because you type these huge unorganized posts
trying to defend your butt. Get over it. Ignore the site and be happy.
People who like AWRPG are not going to suddenly run away because of
some joke site. I can tell because some of them ONLY pay for Active Worlds
so they can roleplay there.

It's not whether you're being graded on grammar. It's whether people would
actually spend their precious time reading your unorganized garble.
Organization is key here.
