So as much as I hate Ashley, and consider her dumb as hell, that's nothing
> compared to your arrogance ;) Ha ha, thanks :D - Mark I LUV MANDEYEJul 14, 2004, 1:59am
haha, nice...
But you should have used frames on the pictures section instead of adding the text to the actual picture graphics... for shame. - MR [View Quote] Directive 7"2' is InvokedJul 14, 2004, 3:12pm
Under Directive 7, paragraph 2 line 1 of the Secret Active Worlds Community
Guidelines reading as below: In any event that a problem develops on such a scale that normal tacticial actions cannot solve it, command and authority of the AWA will be transfered to the highest ranking General who shall gain situational control for the length of time required to use the given power in a way that will rectify the said problem. ------------------- As the only 5 star'd Generals still in Active Worlds are Nel, MTD and Myself I now invoke directive 7, paragraph 2 giving me full control over the AWA, AWCA and SCESO. All former troops are now recalled to activy duty for the length of time required to solve the following problem. ------------------- The problem is defined as such: Active Worlds is degrading faster than plutonium in a detonating nuclear warhead. Worse more, it is openly turning into some God Foresaken AOL chatroom with 12 year old kids coming into __EVERY__ GZ looking for 'hot boys / girls / whatevers' flooding any proper conversations straight out into the dev > nul. Lets evaluate shall we: We have several people clearly suffering from mental problems ranging from between learning difficulties, though insanity, all the way up to some users being clearly psycotic. People with learning difficulties I have no problem with unless they are put in situations where they could potentially harm other users, neither is it fair on them to have to try and deal with it... As for the others well guess, I've lost track of how many times they have been banned from various things (newsgroups, worlds, entire universes)... yet theyre still here! Hell I know I've raised hell in the past (being goody all the time just doesnt do it for me) but some of these users are making AW literally DANGEROUS... and we all know how E N Z O likes his 'ActiveWorlds - Its just safer' logos. We have gatekeepers ejecting for including links to the Active Worlds conduct guidelines in AWGate, thinking I have 20+ laptops (artistic license) and thinking your computer automatically locks onto, downloads and executes any hyperlink you see ANYWHERE, including you AW chat window! Hmmm cant think of anything generally wrong with the PKs or SRT for now... Scratch this one... We have the 'clock' maniaks running around under 'Commander KoL' saying phrases like "I want you to suck my great big huge CLOCK!" We have the AOL'ers running around for hot this and that, "Omni" clones appearing at all of the ground zeros simultainiously, random tourist deleters creating gangs to go vandalise, stupid this and stupid that. I mean for the love of all that is holy... -------------------- Let me share a very recent experience with you, Ive known a person a very long time, as do a lot of you know him, and I have seen his picture several years ago in the various galleries... and a few days ago he showed me a more up to date pic, and I loaded it up and I just looked at it and just couldent take it in that he had aged so much from what I knew before and when I got my bearings I couldent help but think 'what on earth has happened?' because while my friend has got older... Active Worlds seems to be getting younger, the average mental age is about 12 now... Its worrying. -------------------- I think AW needs some good caring people to go out of their way to keep up the community, I can think of 2 people who I thought were the cornerstones of their relevant groups and helped make those groups the great things they were back in the day in my first and 2nd years in here... I sadly refer to Skyee and Daphne, and while Daphne could sometimes be a pain in the bum while I was terrorising AWTeen, both of these people had an ability to make you smile and knew how different people were and how to interact and be friends with them, regardless of problems... but now we don't have people like that who bind things together... its a true shame. -------------------- After that rather memory-flooding last paragraph... back to business. AWA and all ESO consider your new mission to find out who / how the heck these AOL idiots are finding us, I like it that Active Worlds is getting new users, I just wish they all had an IQ above 100 and at least actually knew how to teleport before buying a cit! Once we have isolated them... I suggest a good old fashioned burning at the sake. -------------------- Say what you will, Ive brought up quite a few topics here to consider. - Mark R Funny little AWI Rates Quirk...Jul 14, 2004, 4:13pm

Blimp: $500 a month Sign: $50 So lets review... unless Active Worlds Inc is paying itself to put up adverts for awcommunity.org this has to be the worst 3rd party marketing setup I've ever seen :O Although I can't imagine anyone actually knows about it considering for $500/m you can pay a bunch of annoying tourists to go around spamming whatever URL's you want to every GZ in the universe :O Posted this just for your amusement.. - Mark R Funny little AWI Rates Quirk...Jul 14, 2004, 7:27pm
I just thought of something else with this one... Someone who knows more
about the refresh and OP management tell me will you... For the blimp image to be changed... you would need a cache reset, right? - Mark R Funny little AWI Rates Quirk...Jul 17, 2004, 10:09am
Its probably just a lost pricing plan, I think that while 3rd party
advertising *could* work I cant see AWI actually going out and themselves promoting that the marketing arena is available. Hence noone uses it. - Mark R [View Quote] How even are your hands?Jul 16, 2004, 4:53pm
I found this out recently while talking to some friends and trying it.
Put both of your hands out infront of you, and ensure your elbows / arms are not touching anything to support them. Now try clasping and opening your hands as fast as you can, in sync with eachother. A normal person will last typically only between 5 and 20 seconds before the rate of one of their hands deminishes to just half the speed of their dominant hand, and that the arm attached to their none-dominant hand will feel rather strange... Try keeping this up for 2 minutes and then try typing as normal (presuming you use both hands to type) and see how many spelling mistakes / typo's you make in the next few minutes. - Mark R What do our names say about us?Jul 17, 2004, 12:25pm

meaning "innocent lamb" Now I am no expert, but if my RE serves me right did'nt the same people as the origin dictates slaughter lambs for protection against all kinds of evil?... Well how would you feel if you were called Rachael back then and your father came out with his axe going "Holy God protect us with this Innocent Lamb we are about to kill!"... The reason NewAW #1 never came out was because certain things never got
added, Transport etc (which I of coursed offered to make them when Bill was still about, ha... ha... ha....). Really though I don't know whats going on with the new one, unless they want to impliment toilet cycles for your avatars... ? Should have been out months and months ago in my not-so-humble opinion. - Mark R [View Quote] Again... what's up with NewAW ?Sep 17, 2004, 9:18pm
Mousty was contracted by AWI to do it which is madness because what they
should have done is contracted a team of 2 or 3 people to make components for the plugin structure. Could have had the initial coding done in 2 week or so. - MR [View Quote] what the hell...Jul 22, 2004, 5:38pm
No they can't get into trouble as its effectivly stopping what you could
probably take as 'attempting to disrupt the day to day business operations of a competing company' - effective sabotage if it worked, AWI is in their rights to protect against it in their own worlds... but couldent actually ban it universally due to free speech malarky. - Mark R [View Quote] what the hell...Jul 23, 2004, 12:41am
Argh AW to???
There went the last public place in AW you could have a convo without a bot thinking you were corrupting the minds of small innocent 10 year old children (which of course probably know more profanity than most of us put together - damned society! dum de dum de dum tra la la... Very bored, cant you tell? All hail HTTP specs... Although www.there.%63om isnt detected as a URL as it should be! Shame on whoever made the parsing code... Hint - Dont even think about blocking URLEncoded URL's, thats just degrading the product! - Mark R what the hell...Jul 24, 2004, 10:28am
its no trick, simply HTTP specification (and you know how I hate MOST
specifications). Therefore, it can never be banned, so why make yourself out to be paranoid and afraid in the first place? Yer know a little inward pointing "AW is Good" advertising wouldent go amiss! Whats the point in banning people from mentioning your competators if your not even taking steps to enforce how good your product is to your customers? - Mark [View Quote] AWs Still ATTACKING members!Jul 24, 2004, 3:37pm
