You wouldent use it, it would be interpritted as disrespectful if you said
it to someone who was your govener (ie boss) in normal conversation, you
would only use it in an argument... perhaps.

Best Firewall?

Apr 26, 2004, 8:24pm
I like Sygate personal pro, its a very good firewall with the capability of
application, protocol and port setup for advanced rules, its also very good
with XP Pro (I presume your not being a maniak and using XP Home as a server
host).

Depending on your bandwidth, you probably would do for a hardware firewall
also.

Active Worlds television

Jul 3, 2004, 6:49am
the 3.6 streaming capability would be more use for watching streams for
perhaps the BBC etc as I doubt very much that in anything above a month that
such bandwidth drain (even on a 64kb stream) would be unsustainable.

like... 18, ive seen girls that are 13 and 14 going around with Lady names,
lol... I just thought to myself 'uh... im all for skipping childhood but

Since when did most AW users actually know what would actually benefit the
Active Worlds program?

Why no 3.6 Beta for general community???

Jul 19, 2004, 6:21pm
Seriously though.

The addition of streaming opens up the possibility of combining external
media with VR environments that was not previously possible. For example if
a recording artist had a world (and a 3.6 server... heh) then they could do
such things as live concerts mixing AW content (and hence Multiple Users)
with their media...

It also opens up the possibility for these AW Radio's to actually play
through... well.. radios (of the RWX kind)... so if someone say put a radio
at GZ on an activate command... people could shut the heck up with spamming
links to them all.

Also of course, getting streaming sound is kinda preemptive to getting the
VoIP implimented, to get users experienced and expecting live-feed audio.

Mainly though, producers have the ability now to link their output, directly
to the user, and get real-time feedback from the chat and such.

Then all the other crap like video confrencing blah blah blah.

I have been very suprised in the last few months how often Rick is taking
personal responsability for things, appearing in public to meet and greet
people etc.

Very impressive for a CEO, and quite unexpected.

The building side noone really cares about; they don't (shouldent) even
state change to query property, they have been banned because some people
have been using them to force-join someone when the person is ignoring /
refusing their joins and such.

How to amuse yourself...

Jul 10, 2004, 10:22am
Id like to share a little tip on how to amuse yourself....

Note this only really works after you've been up for 24 hours straight and
or otherwise nackered.

Step 1) When you are aware - Turn off the 'shortcut to' miniarrow that
appears on shortcuts
Step 2) create a new folder called 'whats in here'...
Step 3) Inside the above new folder create a shortcut to the same folder
called 'whats in here'

You will now have endless hours of fun trying to work out how many folders
are within the folders completly forgetting the fact that you have 'show
full path in the address bar' turned on and it is infact just staying the
same.

Enjoy,

Jul 12, 2004, 12:07am
Well... im bored... and there hasnt been a post in here for the last few
hours so its my turn! Lets play the 'random question' game, just by posting
thought inspiring random babble...

Things like:

How come everyone knows e=mc^2 but only about 0.5% know what it means?

How exactly DOES eep find so much time to make so many newsgroup posts
(search google)?

Will AlaskanShadow EVER soften up to me?

those kinda things...

Ill start...

[View Quote] Because I feel like it, and who ever said anything about looking at it in
the GUI? I've been known to read HTML EMails via 'view source' before now...

I know, its such a TERRIBLE pitty for them that all of the HTTP homesites
get blocked at the firewall, dash, they almost had me!

> Confirmed

Uh huh... but even if I didnt have Godknows how many lines of active and
passive defences, not to mention the best one of all: being able to read and
understand every line of source code they send I would be seriously
concerned... Surely they would not stoop to that low though... I mean if
they did Id probably get REALLY pissed and move from just SQL Injecting
their sites where I can to wipe out their lists, to taking more in-direct
approaches and just handing the IP over to a few people I know to enjoy
nothing more than fully taking out sites like that... You have to laugh when
you enter ' into the site and it blows up in your face.

erm... how else can you do anything BUT give your real address at some point
if you actually want to recieve legit mail... uh...

I thought you thought that was Ashley? But still hell I think that about
myself :)

> I do not care if you suddenly think I am hot.

Alaskan stopped posting pictures of herself looking like she was dead...
Turns out she is actually quite attractive when not looking like death... Ha
ha, saw no reason why not to tell her, its quite funny to see her squirm at
being complimented.

> I still find you as repulsive as ever, not to mention highly
> illiterate if you still fail to realize this

What does my lack of spell checking have to do with this? By soften up I
mean dont go out of your way to make every insult you can! ha ha.

FYI the reason I 'softened up' was because Ive read though the LJ and some
newsgroup posts and realised realised you do actually have a other side that
you do not usually show but one that creates an interesting balance in your
personality when you can see both sides of it. That and one of us has to
take our finger off the trigger (I dont mean ie: dont shoot, I mean STOP
shooting the fully auto's weve had pointed at eachother!)

I can hope, eh?
