Sure, why not. But once it is implemented, you will have a hard time
debugging it.

btw, try to kill yourself first. You won't be put in prison or sentenced to
death for it.

My list will be out soon, I wanted to wait until AW 2.1 goes final, but if
that takes too long, I will release it anyway.

I almost finished a program that does that for me: it counts the votes,
sorts the list, and outputs a HTML file out of a database that I can edit
from within the program.

Um, for *me* uploading isn't a problem. I can post a new version to the NG's
and upload it within about two minutes or less. However, if I made a new
version every time I received an email, I would have been at v25 or so. That
gets annoying, when there's a new version every day. Other people should be
able to keep up with it. That's why I want to release only once, maximum
twice, per week.

[View Quote] I have had the ID idea too, and all idea's now have an ID. However, I think
version numbers do make sense. Now it's easy to see what version is newest.
I won't keep around every version I have ever released, however, I will keep
the last two or three versions or so, so you can have a look at them.

Eep, you seem to miss something. AWFWWL is *not* a site that I am
webmastering. It is a list, it has versions, an I have numbered these
versions. Much like a weekly newspaper thingy or so. I have made it into
HTML because I liked to do that. However, I could have used DOC or RTF, or
even TXT if I liked to do. I have put it on a website so people can have
quick access to it. However, I am not intending to make a website out of it.

So, get lost. When I really wanted to make a website, I would have done it
much different.

1. AWFWWL is NOT a website.
2. I use both version # AND date since version 2. And I will add something
so everyone can see what wishes are new. Just wait a version more, or so.

But my PAGE isn't inteded as a SITE it is just an ONLINE VERSION OF AWFWWL.
Would you call a single text file somewhere a site, too?

btw, I already said I was going to CHANGE the LOOK of AWFWWL some time. But
only when I have some time left.

[View Quote] Indeed. People liked it to be online, so I put it online.

>I agree it's easier to use dates, but why won't versions do??

I'm using version # because I liked to do so. Version 2 also has the date in
it. But I'm not going to remove the version #, no matter what Eep says.

I don't think the list should be updated every time I get a new wish or some
votes. When I start doing that, people would just forget about AWFWWL.
However, when I release a new version once in a while, every week, twice a
week, or twice a month, whatever, and I announce that in the NG's, people
are more likely to go take a look at it. And that is the goal of bringing
out a new version.

Don't think so. I don't consider a one-byte file called "z" hanging around
somewhere a site. In my opinion, a site is a collection of some html pages,
linking to each other, and providing information, files, data, whatever. A
single HTML isn't a real site, whatever the definition might say. I am not
going to treat the online version of AWFWWL as a site. It is an online copy
of the AWFWWL list, and I am going to update it as soon as AWFWWL is
updated.

First, I want to thank everyone who contributed to this list. With =
version 2, the amount of wishes has doubled, and I have received a lot =
of votes. Now we can start determining what everyone wants!
=20
Now, some important things to know. I have changed the voting system a =
bit. Now, you don't vote on list number and idea rank anymore. I have =
given every idea an unique number, the idea's ID, that stays the same, =
no matter what list version. So, no matter what version of the list you =
are looking at, the ID stays the same. So you now have to vote on the =
idea's ID. If you want to vote, add an idea to the list, or submit some =
changes to the list, please follow the procedures mentioned in sections =
2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 of the list. This will save me time, and you can be =
sure that your contribution will be processed.

So, everyone, please start voting and submitting idea's!!! I am =
waiting... :-)

2. How can you add to the list?
2.1 If you have an idea of wich you think it should be on the list

2.3 How to vote on an idea on the list
3. List of wishes
3.1 Explanation
3.2 The wishes

1. Goal of the list

1.1 Goal
The goal of this list is to list all the ideas of the users of Active =
Worlds about possible improvements for this program, and to find out =
which improvements are most wanted. This is done by a system of voting. =
See section 2.3 for voting instructions. Everyone can vote and =
contribute idea's to the list.

2. How can you add to the list?

2.1 If you have an idea of wich you think it should be on the list
If you have an idea that you want to see on the list, please follow the =
next procedure. This will ease the process of getting your idea on the =
list, and it will save me some time. The procedure:
1. Send your mail to rolu at bigfoot.com
2. Include the word "AWFWWL" in the subject line of your mail.
3. Put your idea, togeather with a short description, in the body of the =
mail.
4. If you want to vote for this idea at the same time, also mention this =
in the body of the mail.
5. Also mention your AW nickname.
6. If you have anything else to say, some comments on the list, whether =
it is your birthday, if I made a spelling or grammar error somewhere, if =
you have seen a good film lately, or just something in general, also =
include this in the body of the mail :-)

2.2 If you have an addition to an idea on the list, for example, a =
better way to implement something already on the list
If you want to add something to an idea on the list, follow the next =
procedure:
1. Send your changes to rolu at bigfoot.com
2. Include the word "AWFWWL" in the subject line of your E-mail.
3. In the body of your mail, mention the ID of the idea. You can find =
this to the left of the number of votes of an idea.
4. Now, put all your comments on the idea in the body of the mail. This =
can be anything you want. If it sounds usefull, just mail it.
5. Also mention your AW nickname.
6. And again: if you have anything else to say, some comments on the =
list, whether it is your birthday, if I made a spelling or grammar error =
somewhere, if you have seen a good film lately, or just something in =
general, also include this in the body of the mail :-)

2.3 How to vote on an idea on the list
If you want to vote on one or more idea(s) on the list, follow the next =
procedure:
1. Send your vote(s) to rolu at bigfoot.com
2. Include the word "AWFWWL" in the subject line of your E-mail.
3. Mention the ID's of every idea you want to vote on. You can find the =
ID of an idea left of it's number of votes.
4. Now, mention your AW nickname. This is very important! If you don't =
do this, your votes won't be legal.
5. And here three: if you have anything else to say, some comments on =
the list, whether it is your birthday, if I made a spelling or grammar =
error somewhere, if you have seen a good film lately, or just something =
in general, also include this in the body of the mail :-)
If you are not sure wheter you have voted on an idea or not, just vote =
again. I will count a vote only once.

3. List of wishes

3.1 Explanation

Rank Idea Idea category ID

#1 A better 3D engine Improvements to the 3D engine 7
7 votes=20

both in true D3D as 3DFX mode.. Also, AW should be able to run in full =
screen when you want so, with the tab bars and menu items still on =
screen, like the status bar at the bottom of the screen in most 3D =
games. This would enable switching to lower resolutions, and thus =
speeding up everything. When working in other programs while AW-ing, you =
should be able to switch back to windowed mode.=20

5 votes=20
More information about the worlds in the world list. Next to =
the number of people in the world, for example, the number of people =
that the world can handle at maximum, whether you can build in that =
world, a full (more than 8 characters) world name, and more like this.=20

Under menu item "login" go to "privilleges" and set your pw there. You can
also set somebody else's pw around there, in wich case you get his/her
privilleges.

don't know if tourists can get privillege pw's, but if it is possible, you
can use them. Otherwise you have to wait until he manages to register, and
then use privillege pw.

In that case it must have been an error on the part of my web page hoster,
since I didn't change anything in between.

It takes up screen space, memory and cpu time when you use it. Apart from
that, it is a very good calculator.

They would not because a calculator is way beyond the goal of the awb, wich
is browsing AW.
