While still in beta-testing, Xelagot 3.3 is healthy and doing well,.
It has decided to dedicate it's new version to the person who made it possible for bots to exist and multiply: Roland Vilett. Thank you, Roland, for providing us with such a wonderful tool! My bots and I wish you a very happy and successfull future. XelaG and his Xelagots Xelagot 3.3 now availableMay 31, 2002, 7:15pm

Yeah, the bot in global mode perceives a lot, but other avatars don't.
If an avatar does not 'see' the global mode bot, it can not hear it either. Notice that this applies too if the bot is invisible in global mode: it hears all chats, but it cannot reply by chat or whisper. The global mode bot does not know if the other is within hearing range even if it is visible in the world. Use console message to talk to people far away. What always works in global mode is: console message, avatar warp/teleport, send url and eject, because the target avatar does not need to know who did these actions. A simple array is not that simple :) I would have to make arrays for
all types of variables, and in your example, you use a 2d array... even more complicated. String lists are not ideal, I agree, but I don't have the time at present to tackle the array thingy. Yes, I mean exactly that. I'm getting sick and tired of people
changing the urls I post for download of the bot. Some don't mean it badly, some do. I post the download page because I do not have the means to protect my bot otherwise. The legitimate dl page has the copyright and other necessary notices. If you don't like that, DONT use my bot. My bot is freeware, but not a laughing stock. I give a lot of my time and old energy (I'm 53) to provide you ppl with this free software.... I might even start to rethink my policy :( Bye. The matter has been settled, maki and I had a talk about this. No, it
isn't funny to bypass honest instructions, even if there is no sanction attached. Respect should be given without a need for pressure from sanctions. Yep, an upload error: I uploaded the new pages to the wrong server

For one thing, Justin, my bot is freeware. Your way of questioning and
demanding is quite annoying. Bug reports, or efforts to solve dilemmas are welcome... but not quite the way you pose them. May I say it roughly: if you don't like my bot, lump it! On the other hand, if you think there are problems etc, you are welcome to contact me at xelag at 3dee.nl in a gracious way, and, if I have time and the will to do so, I will try and solve them. Alex PS: why does the bot... because I made it so... could be my answer to your questions... I am not bound to serve you or anybody. Dear Xelagot users,
As stated on my pages, bug reports (and suggestions) about Xelagots are to be sent to my email address xelag at 3dee.nl Most people do that correctly, but some insist in following their own ideas about how this should be done, even up to the point of writing to me saying "Would it really have killed you to answer my questions in the newsgroup so everyone would know where things are at?". It is my privilege to decide on these matters. I have a certain degree of tolerance for newbies and jounger people, who do not yet know their way around, but very little tolerance otherwise. Every bug report or suggestion makes me spend time, sometimes a considerable amount, to handle it. I do this without charging expenses, but only according to my own terms. I also expect politeness from users, even if I do not garantee a successful handeling of all matters. But I do try to solve bugs and other problems according to my capacity. And I do *not* enter into long discussions about why I chose to receive reports only by email. I hope this makes these matters clear to all. Cheers, XelaG Xelagot 3.306, a maintenance upgradeJul 31, 2002, 2:53pm
Xelagot 3.306 is a maintenance update, and will be the last version in
the 3.3 series. For details and download, visit http://www.imatowns.com/xelagot/xlgwhatsnew.html XelaG Reminder: bug reports, suggestions and questions about the bot should be addressed to xelag at 3dee.nl Xelagot 3.307 with Euro symbol fixAug 17, 2002, 9:32am
Xelagot x1, av99bot and srvcXlgBot 3.307 available.
Propdump/propload fix: the new 3.3 propdump format changed the encoding of hard-returns in the description and action strings. The old 0x0D + 0x7F code was replaced by 0x80 + 0x7F. The 0x80 character appears on screen as the new Euro symbol. This change was not documented by ActiveWorlds. The new version of x1, av99 and srvcXlg can read both encodings, and upload the project correctly. When saving a 3.3 propdump to file, the new encoding is now used. XelaG http://www.imatowns.com/xelagot/xlgwhatsnew.html 3.4 beta testers please read the beta newsgroup. Xelagot 3.308 terrain enhancementAug 21, 2002, 8:07pm
Xelagot x1 3.308 available.
Enhancement: when using an elevdump to rebuild your terrain, non-existing terrain pages can now be added and modified by the bot (altitude, etc), just like existing ones. This allows you, for example, to change the altitude of a virgin terrain. XelaG http://www.imatowns.com/xelagot/xlgwhatsnew.html PS: av99 and srvcXlg have not been modified, since this is a user interface enhancement. 3.4 beta testers please read the beta newsgroup. Serious bug - please upgrade XelagotsSep 13, 2002, 2:16pm
URGENT REQUEST TO UPGRADE XELAGOTS
A new version of Xelagot 3.309 fixes a bug I discovered today in the property query code: if the bot's Object cache was used for querying (surveying) property, old deleted objects would sometimes reappear in the surveys and in backups. Due to this bug, some scripts could fail to work at random moments. This is a serious bug, so please upgrade! The functions affected are: * verbal command queries * all surveys made by querying with the Survey Manager if the cache was used * action script surveys with "QueryAt at a" that do not specify "QueryUseCache OFF" * action script "ProjectBackup" as from Xelagot version 3.3 (before then, this function did not use the cache). This includes the world backup scripts distributed with X1 (they are safe to use after upgrading) Not affected are: * backups/propdumps made with the Survey Manager's "Backup" tool using the iteration method * "ProjectBackup" scripts used before Xelagots version 3.3 Note that this bug does not make you lose objects, but it will add unnecesary objects and may cause the Object Inspector to squeak. The web pages still mention the old version at the time of writing this, but the downloadable files are the new version. X1 3.309: http://www.imatowns.com/xelagot/xlgwhatsnew.html Av99/SrvcXlg 3.309: http://www.imatowns.com/xelagot/xelagot_av99bot_dl.html The beta 3.405 has also been updated with this fix. your bot too: http://www.imatowns.com/xelagot/xlgwhatsnew.html Alex memory leak bug fix XelagotsNov 25, 2002, 3:29am
LOL, Ananas.
The reason is quite simple: I update the bot at random moments, when I have time or when I discover a bug which needs inmediate attention. There are tens of versions of x1 and other xelagots around, making a separate patch for each (or one that covers all) is not practical. Some people run several versions on their computer or servers, so you see the mess of making this automatic upgrade system... Compare with the aw browser: if you have missed a few upgrades, you have to download several times patches... if I did that, you might want to download 30 patches from version 2.999999 or so to the current one :) Anyway, I don't have time for this, I prefer to dedicate the time I have to enhance the Xelagot :) Alex [View Quote] >What about asking someone to move your mouse >and click the keys for you? > > [View Quote] memory leak bug fix XelagotsNov 25, 2002, 3:32am
