I've posted a link to a real life picture. The square bricks around the
flowers is what I'm talking about, except I want it in a straight line, not
curved like around the flowers. I need brick1 texture and a solid brick
without holes.

Unfair Voting Procedure for Avatars 2001

Dec 2, 2001, 10:55pm
In regards to the popular vote that took place at Avatars 2001, there is no
way it could be considered fair, and I will request that this matter be
looked into by digigardener and others.

The bot did not work properly.
At times, the bot was not present.

Mr. Rayburn,

I sure hope I never get so stuck on myself that I have to call down those
who previously helped me by pointing out their personal shortcomings when
times get rough.

I hope you and AW can work out your indifference. Working with you in a
positive manner is in their best interest as well as yours.

I agree with parts of Lara's statement.

I've said it before, I'm disappointed JP or E N Z O did not speak to the
citizens at AWDebate when AW was in such an uproar after announcing the
price increase and no tourists. And since that time, I've heard JP had a
discussion with the PK's, and part of the focus of this discussion was NAC
property and the like. HOW DARE JP release this information to the PK's,
which in turn allowed it to be leaked out/trickled on down to the citizens,
which ended up in a newsgroup post. If it weren't for Mauz, I don't know
that we would have ever known for sure what the correct information was. JP
should have faced the citizens head on with the information. It was done
with little or no regard for us and I'm very disappointed. As far as I'm
concerned, anytime anyone talks about wiping out someone else's build, for
whatever reason, it's of utmost concern. Without builds, all you've got is
a chat program. Also, back in January, I felt pushed a little too hard to
accept a new version of the software (as Calpentera stood at the gate
announcing). It was almost as though I were at a Jim Jones camp, forced to
drink the poison Kool-Aide with a gun to my head. I could not even sign
back onto AW after installation of the new version. I had to write to
support! What if I had been a GateKeeper trying to sell a tourist on
becoming a citizen as Calpentera marched in with all of his world privs?
And Calpentera, if you are reading this, don't you do that again!!!! I mean
it!!!!!! It was dead wrong!!!! I don't care if you were instructed to do
it, we should get notice plenty ahead of time before we are forced to take a
new version of the software. Don't you guys up there in the AW office ever
take up for the citizens? How about the potential citizens (tourists)?
There are times when a paycheck means nothing when you see injustice taking
place!

At the same time I can see that a price increase is in order, especially if
it means more toys, because I really enjoy building and am willing to
support new features by paying more.

I'm using Bill Gates's free stuff (and so are you) called Microsoft Outlook

You should see a paperclip on the right when you click on the post with the
jpgs. Click on it and choose which picture you want to see. Mine is setup
so that when I scroll down to the bottom of the post, I see the pictures.

True. I have full sized 2.2, 3.1, 3.2. The others are small. If anyone
has full sized splashes (300 x 300) of the remainder I haven't listed here,
I'd like to have them. They need to go at AWHS Community Center, but until
then I've got them displayed temporarily at a build in AW.

I don't know, I suppose Jdal is gone-haven't gotten a reply from him about
the pictures already missing from AWHS because of the Xoom move to Italy.
I'll check around about that; hope they aren't missing for good.

A page sounds good, I'm making it now. I don't know about all versions
being available for download, but I do know of one very old version with a
saved cache that someone had. I don't remember who had it or know if it is
still available or not; however, I have spent considerable time searching
for it.

Does AW company allow you to keep previous versions on the web for download?

I've found the full sized 2.0 splash.

Pans & Building Preservation

Jul 12, 2001, 11:38pm
AWHS has done an excellent job assuring protection against deletion of NAC
property and many other things.

What policy and/or plan is in place for preservation of builds so that
future generations of the first AW Citizens and others can expect to see
things exactly as they were meant to be seen?

Why were the old graffiti type pans done away with?

What about preservation against texture, color changes, etc.?

Take for example Little Bull's cottages that he built with pans. The color
has changed on the outline of some of the pieces. The cottages don't look
as good as they once did because of the mismatch of color outlines. When I
build with a light blue texture tomorrow, I'd like to come back 50 years
from now and still see the same texture, not a replacement white stone. How
is it better to replace a texture than to just add another to the index?
When I go to the store to buy brick walk stones for the front of my house, I
don't expect the company I bought it from to come to my house 4 years later
and replace it with another texture they think will be nice.

Some of us are picky about the colors and textures we use to build. Please
honor that and consider giving us the original pans
(including the original matching roofs and graffiti alpha world wall) and
not mismatched colors, different windows, replacements. My request isn't
meant to be a burr in the side of whoever replaced the old pans with
existing ones we see today; however, after comparing to Pops pan house in
!History, the replacement pans seem to have flaws and are not as good
quality.

If you won't consider my request because I'm a one in a million band wasting
citizen peon scrawling my request, then please do it for the first original
builders of Alpha World. As Grover's sign says, "btw, this was the first
Ever house in aw to use pans. And as far as I can tell, the oldest existing
structure." "I give up! Repairing this house is hopeless..."

Opinions? Flames? AWHS Spokesperson comment?

Pans & Building Preservation

Jul 14, 2001, 6:42pm
Correction, Laurie Ann made the pan house in !History with Pops pan display.
Pops did not build the house.

Although, according to those here, the AWHS is not as active as it once was,
I'd still be interested in joining, so am going to pursue that route.

AWHS - Let's get it together.

Jul 17, 2001, 8:56pm
Let's get the AWHS back together. There's much to be done.

We need the following:

1) AW Mentor(s) such as Mauz, The Real Pops or Tyrell (any or all will do).
I don't mean to leave anyone out, so if you think you fit the bill, please
speak up.

This would need to be someone that can mentor us in the right direction.
Needs to be someone familiar with the World, Inc. days, has knowledge of
former citizens and builds. Someone that Active Worlds would trust to give
restoration rights.

2) Citizens that are interested in the history of AW - past and present
(read kellee's AWHS post). Must be flexible and dedicated - sensitive to
protecting the past as well as moving forward to the future.

For those interested in joining and attending a meeting, please post here.
When is a good time? We already have something first on our agenda so we
need to get moving.

Also, post here if you are interested in being a mentor. We also need an ok
from an AW spokesperson for the plan above.

EepVisuals TM Request

Jul 20, 2001, 4:06pm
Eep,

Is there any way for you to make a picture of a handicap sign to go on the
ground as well as a regular sign?

Also, in my town, they have signs for set up for special parking for
pregnant ladies. It's a picture of a pink stork and a sign that says
"Reserved for expecting mothers". It's not a United States sign, one of the
grocery stores made it and others have followed.

I also need the head of a parking meter, a highway sign 69 (not interstate),
emergency telephone box (like what you see on the highway) for something I'm
building in Mars. I wish you had a setup of your visuals at Mars next to
their object yard. Mars doesn't have fireworks so the dynamics are a bit
different when trying to use your signs.

Okay, thanks - I'll get them to you. I really need to get a look at the

Building highways is really not my thing, but will try to do my best to make

WTG on this reply, Alex!

Please do not feel that all of us in the United States wish to feed the
attorneys. Quite the contrary, I have tried to teach my children to be
proud and dignified enough to stand on their own two feet and think of
alternative solutions when they feel they have been wronged. Many times
they have come home from school saying they want to sue someone for being
wronged. I know they do not get this from me, quite frankly, I'm not sure
where they get it from. Maybe a combination of television and other school
children. However, it is time for it to stop. I wonder how many people
would sue if our country had different laws about monetary settlement? What
if you got a years supply of bubblegum instead of money? My grandmother and
great-grandmother would NEVER have stood for suing over the least little
thing because they felt it was below moral standards.

Think about this: Some say the reason why so many shark attacks have
happened lately in the United States is a result in a tourist attraction in
another country, where they take people underwater with lots of food to
attract sharks so that the tourists can get a glimpse of large masses. The
sharks have learned wherever there is a large gathering of people, there is
food. Therefore, when they see flocks of people in the water, they head
towards them looking for a meal. We've thought of an easy way to see lots
of sharks - a shortcut.

In the case of suing someone, the sharks = money and we are the tourists
seeking to take a shortcut to wealth. It's good for some in the beginning,
but in the end our own moral demise is the outcome.

sinew

[View Quote] Indeed, as someone
> pointed out, I could have been entitled to sue AWCOM for this. This
> may be a normal procedure in the US, in Europe we do not usually feed
> the lawyers the way you do, it is always a last recourse :) My

Smiling Hacker

Oct 19, 2001, 10:07pm
The New World Times http://www.synergycorp.com/nwt/uz/uz0p3.htm reported and
photographed a very ornate home belonging to Smiling Hacker in their
December 15, 1995 Under Ground Zero newsletter issue. However, there is no
teleport noted. There is a clue, however, and that is it is close to the
old Jumani build. I would like to find and explore Smiling Hacker's house.
If anyone can provide the coords to Jumani, it would be very helpful.
