Jumping

Oct 17, 1998, 2:08am
Hereis an idea to implement this, Robo sends keys to AW to make it build,
but ive been playin around wiht how robo works(strip down all that big hairy
code, right down to native) and well I cna make the avatars move, but *sigh*
unfortunatly i cnat send a + key to any applications because + means shift
key...maybe somebody coudl find a way to sorta work around that...just a
segestion B-)

ahhh the fine joys of killing someone just to take their money, that would
make AW such a great place B-)

thad's be neat! the av coudl say old sayings, and you could add more lines
to it, words of wisdom or lines form movies....Luke, I am your friendly
neighborhood mailman and stuff like that...and the avs gesture would be like
the brainsezure one that r on the girl avs in america...

A shoot of would be nice, but instead of eject your eject would be disabled
instead...and instead of the advanced mute feature tha tu tlaked aobut, i
most likely fing people who swear to be realy annoying so instead you would
jsut mute them...I think the mute feature is simple and effective enough to
do its job properly...of course you might want to have aw ask you before
muting the person...

Virtual Virus

I find thsi whole section of the NG(one half og the newsgroup wow!)
hilarious because u cover sooooo much of the list and ge to nothing other
than annoy Nas over one suggestion...now then the beer thingyw ere ya click
that would be neat, and some other people are right aobut it being random,
so maybe if you never build and you never talk, then u coudl become prone to
get that virus, because we are here in AW to talk build and hang out..not to
mention look at others buildings. I sitll see this ver hilarious and
pointless to fill half of the newsgroup just to say how you dont like a
suggestion, I thought newsgroups were to help people with stuff, and share
information, NOT to annoy people because they said something stpid, your
acting like Kids(i should know im 12).

english? err i mean layman terms?

Flying like a plane

Oct 15, 1998, 11:51pm
that would be soooo cool, and the rt and left arrow keys would make you not
only turn but tilt a little bit too, and you coudl have more inertia when u
normally fly in aw...ever tryed a dynamic turtle? hard to keep on the screen
hehe...

[View Quote]

Flying like a plane

Oct 17, 1998, 4:34pm
Dynamic Turtle u ask?

A Turtle(talking in Macintosh term here no wonder...) is like this little
triangle on your screen, and when ya type in like..FORWARD 10...the turtle
would mover forward 10 pixels ect, and leave line...A dynamic turtle has
inertia though, so if u did FORWRD 10 the turtle would go forward 10 pixels
but still keep goin..then if u said RIGHT 20 the turtle would turn and still
be going the same direction ect ect...

You are absolutely right it isnt limited to Mac language, in fact I made one
out of a bot =)

Vertical Rotation

Oct 15, 1998, 7:34pm
If only aw had a vertical rotate on the teleport command on buildings...loop
de loops would be easier to do on roller coasters. e.g. bump warp +0 +0 0a 0
90r

+0 +0 means just keep the current NS, WE coords, and the just plain o is
horizontal rotation, then the 90r would make u look straight up...

come to think of it! The avs heads could rotate on a vertical axis when u
look up and down...the possibilities could go on and on and on...

More Building commands

Oct 15, 1998, 11:24pm
For one thing i think it would be very helpfull if there were logic
commands(variables, greater than less than ect). Like for game boards and
other things, like an open and closing doors wiht only 1 button...for the
button you could put in: create var_DorStat_;activate IfDoorStat=0 Then
visible doorb on, visible doora off, var DorStat=1:Else visible doora on,
visible doorb off

maybe a few modifications to the commands and the Building INspector
wouldent even care about it...

Properties box

Oct 17, 1998, 2:18am
Lessee, now what iwas i gonna say..oh yes now i remember B-) If you ocudl
draw a line arund a building, wouldn't u need a way to select on the Z axiz,
sinc eyour mouse is only a 2D device and i cnat detect Z...you would need a
way to select along the Z axis, I bet those creative CoF programmers who
rely sooo much on this newsgroup for ideas would be able to figure it out
B-)

Re: Teleports

Oct 17, 1998, 2:21am
Better yet, with those folders in mind u could ahve a list & in the Teleport
dialog you could type the name of the Place on your Bookmark list, even more
handy than a list on the side...

Flashlight Mouse

Oct 17, 1998, 11:36pm
Here is a really neat idea, when you place your mouse on the viewing window
tingy the mouse shows up there like a flashlight, and every body else can
see it, would that be just the spiffiest thing walkin around gz and seein
everybody holding flashlights and stuff hehe

Custom avs are here! - yippee!

Dec 21, 1998, 1:05am
ya know..if CoF rid the universes of tourists, then they might instead
charge for the software instead...

Heres another idea, get soemone to write a program that runs at startup, and
every interval you set it would zip up the telegram files when you log into

Yup i know this is an oldie but i just got my GamePad to work here and i
want to use it in AW too. I feel guilty just letting it sit there in the
corner when im exploring AW

Just a little reminder rolly that theres still ppl out htere that want
Joystick support...it would in fact make us...joyous

Object pitching

Aug 21, 1999, 6:07pm
Another thing to think about with objewct pitching is that it also might
reduce frame rate, because everytime you move it has to recalculate the
rotated object...

Joystick with AW

Aug 21, 1999, 6:02pm
Go to www.hotfiles.com and look up a program called Joki, it has the X and Y
axis alreayd programmed in and you can program buttons also

Why the bot bans? I mean come on!!

Aug 21, 1999, 5:55pm
RoboBuilder was banned because AWLD's servers were getting flooded from all
