Jumping // WishlistthecheeseSep 27, 1998, 11:06am
heya all, hi roland.
wouldn't it be nice if we could have a user jump feature? it could use teh 0 key (on the keypad) wich would jump a meter in teh air? cause i have a idea for a game world wich would have jumping, like super mario 64.. This could probobly be implemented in 2.1, and I would be happy givin ya the money for a new world 8-) thanx cheese -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Check out my homepage, it is chocked full of awesome graphics! http://thecheese.home.ml.org Maybe check out my town in AW! A lot of worlds are engineered to keep people on a certain path. currently, we
only need a wall .51m tall to do this. if the jump feature is implimented, all this stuff will be broken :-( so maybe add a checkbox in world options too? grover [View Quote] > heya all, hi roland. > wouldn't it be nice if we could have a user jump feature? it could use teh 0 > key (on the keypad) wich would jump a meter in teh air? cause i have a idea > for a game world wich would have jumping, like super mario 64.. > This could probobly be implemented in 2.1, and I would be happy givin ya the > money for a new world 8-) > > thanx > > cheese > -- > -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- > Check out my homepage, it is chocked full of awesome graphics! > http://thecheese.home.ml.org > Maybe check out my town in AW! > AW- 10000N 500W > -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- pc wizardSep 28, 1998, 7:49pm
Yeah, I think that's a good idea (with another world option to allow it
thought). I came up with lots of ideas and ways I would create a world like one of the Mario 64 levels when I couldn't get on the computer for a few weeks. Another neet option in the world options for the jumping might be how high, or how to effect the gravity to make a regular world and a space world seem more different on the jumping. i was thinking the same thing.. could use control for a bigger jump... aw
would be much better.. how hard would it be to implement? cheese -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Check out my homepage, it is chocked full of awesome graphics! http://thecheese.home.ml.org Maybe check out my town in AW! An interesting variation would be to have gravity ALWAYS on. Then you
would have to hit "++++++++++" to stay in the air. This way jump simply becomes "+". There could also be a check box under options (or maybe a button on the button bar) to set the browser to "build" mode to disable all these cool options we dream up. (e.g., I'd like to see true light sources (build a cave lit by flickering flame1.rwx)). ScottyDM [View Quote] -- Scott D. Miller General Manager & Principal Consultant Arête, Ltd. that would be pretty cool, but maybe the jump would shift the gravity on,
then off when ya hit ground.. i wanted to see that, and BYOA... but thats never comin up (boohoho, no bike avatar riding a chunk of cheese) cheese -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Check out my homepage, it is chocked full of awesome graphics! http://thecheese.home.ml.org Maybe check out my town in AW! Hereis an idea to implement this, Robo sends keys to AW to make it build,
but ive been playin around wiht how robo works(strip down all that big hairy code, right down to native) and well I cna make the avatars move, but *sigh* unfortunatly i cnat send a + key to any applications because + means shift key...maybe somebody coudl find a way to sorta work around that...just a segestion B-) [View Quote] flirbnicNov 2, 1998, 10:45am
