Disable Glitter Kitty and Ambivalent for the NG // WishlistbowenJun 28, 2002, 2:50am
Nah, just Insanity/Filmkr/whoever else would do the trick. That seems to be
their guinea pig for now. --Bowen-- [View Quote] ananasJun 28, 2002, 2:56am

It is general discussion though :) That post got so offtopic though... AW
needs a flame newsgroup as well for this kind of stuff. Going to Andras' is such a pain in the rump. --Bowen-- [View Quote] dionJun 28, 2002, 3:20am
you can block their posts in most newsgroup readers.
Also, you can just simply ignore them. And uh.. this doesn't really belong in wishlist, you know that this isn't for this sort of crap. Keep it to community or general discussion. [View Quote] glitter kittyJun 28, 2002, 3:48am
hey we restrained it to the relevant group and we are not the only posters
on the thread ... why block one side you don't like ... not very fair :( ... my wish is people would respect that others have the right to voice an opinion! [View Quote] ananasJun 28, 2002, 4:49am
This isn't "one side that I don't like", but you miss-used
a CyAwards announcement for your PRIVATE wars. Give it an own thread and I can ignore the thread. I do not ignore a person. glitter kittyJun 28, 2002, 8:20am
Because you've brought this out of the other group I feel I best explain
what I did for those who dont read the other group When Alpha anounced the committee members list I thought it was inappropriate that Insanity be included considering his most recent defrauding of a community member. I simply asked that Alpha reconsider his participation in the hope that it not smear the cyawards. This was not a private "war" but a genuine concern for the community ... when people defended the guys actions it was only reasonable I explain why I thought what I thought ... the thread then evolved. This is not a war ... its due process. Do you also feel that people are not entitled to an opinion if it disagrees with yours? Gee I'm sorry if you find that annoying but that's life ... get used to it ... it'd be a damn boring place if we all agreed on everything. I do not understand what you mean by "give it an own thread" ... that's precisely what it had AND in the relevant forum. This forum is not appropriate for this discussion and I'd ask you to take it back there for your comments. If you say something about a person, expect they have the right to reply. Other than that there's not much else I can say. Glitter (on holiday and posting via dial up(yuk) so cant reply as quick as before) [View Quote] young phalphaJun 28, 2002, 11:09am
Well, Flagg claims he is banning people, I sent an email to him, below is his reply (with my
original text as well): Hi Rhane, Thank you for taking the time to bring these posts to my attention. It is impossible for us, at this time, to monitor every post in every NG and we rely on people like yourself to point out to us the ones we miss. If possible please let me know the specific NG these posts are listed under and the headings of each thread. Thank you. Insanity has been personally attacked. Below is my proof. I would appreciate it if something was done. << not posting names of examples given >> Of course there is more, but I won't read every message, it is your job to keep up to date with the NG's. You know, the community has quite a bit more member than just the people posting on your side of
the debate. If Insanity was voted in, then the majority of the community appreciates his honesty and contributions, and thought he was an legitimate, unbiased, and prudent judge. Stop saying, or inferring in your context, that the whole community thinks he was dishonest when it is absolutely a complete lie and is slanderous. - YP [View Quote] When Alpha anounced the committee members list I thought it was inappropriate that Insanity be included considering his most recent defrauding of a community member. Actually, it means that the majority of the *voters* decided he should be voted in.

Being a part of the community should mean that you participate in votes such as that too.

It still goes on in the thread "Cy Nominations Officially Open!",
where it should not even have started. If you had conzerns you could as well have sent them to Alphabit Phalpha in EMail, she is a nice person and she would sure have agreed to meet you and discuss it. I started this thread with a wish - and it's still stand to this wish. Reading 200 or more hate posts in a thread that would have interested me - not nice. If you would have continued it in "your" thread, I wouldn't be mad about that - although I don't like people fighting eachother - but I have seen more than one flame war thread, and I somehow got used to it :( If you want custom avatars, download some from oct31.de and modify them, my stuff isn't as good as Insanity's, but maybe you find something you like. I will not get involved in this whole thing between Insanity and you, I will not take party, although I know and respect Insanity. It's your and his problem. My problem is just that I don't want to read those childish accusations of you both anymore in a thread where it should not be. [View Quote] ambivalentJun 30, 2002, 9:39am
I agree that I got carried away. It was anger and stress. I do hope you
saw my apology, and statement that i would no longer be posting to that thread, which I posted before you posted this. I might point out to you that Young Phalpha posted more than twice as many messages to that thread than I did, and more than a dozen more than glitter kitty (ambi=23, glitter kitty=44, YP=58). Yet you did not find YP annoying as well? Even more annoying? It really does make it look like you only get annoyed by those whose opinion and experience differs from your own. ambivalentJun 30, 2002, 10:04am
wanted to clarify that my message is to ananas in response to his initial
post in this thread. |
