actually i think 2 or 3 reunions a year would be awesome. one on the east
coast and one in the central zone and one on the west coast. because most
ppl cant afford to go clear across the united states.

Yes, they have sponsored reunions in the past, as both Lucrezia Borgia
and Mountain Myst used to be part of the reunion committee.

The Committee talked them over and settled on those four choices. Now
we're letting the community have the final say. :)
The Committee is also in the process of compiling a huge list of
locations for future Reunions. Any suggestions made here or elsewhere
will be considered as possible future sites. :)

I'm soon going to be getting seeds to grow my own 'miracle fruit' plant, and
I am toying with the idea of inviting Toronto area AW users to a miracle
fruit munchies party. The fruit blocks the sour and bitter receptors in the
tongue so that for a few hours after eating the fruit, everything else
tastes sweet or enhanced. A lemon slice will taste like sweet lemon candy,
etc. It will be a few years before the plants bear fruit, but when that
starts happening, I plan on holding a mini-Toronto reunion. A page of info
(found from all over the net) on this plant is at

Everyone near the west coast or anywhere else is welcome to the one in San

I'm not part of it but I think I can say it was formed out of those who had
the initiative to do so. They appointed themselves and started from scratch,
in other words. AWReunion is an organization, and was first started like any
other ;)

Well heck, whyn't ya'll come on out to Saskatchewan and discover a hidden
gem in Saskatoon? Then I can join in! It's a very nice city and quite
affordable and wilderness nuts can plan in a trip to the very nearby boreal
forest afterwards. (about 3 hours drive north).

The place I went thru for lodging up in Estes Park Colorado.. (70 miles nw
of Denver) was a rental management company called Ponderosa Realty and
Management. They have MANY choices all over that area. Our rental ran us
$650 for the whole week for the condo we stayed in.. They also have a couple
HUGE places that can house up to 20 people.
If anyone wants to toy with that idea of having it up in the mountains
here's their website:
http://www.ponderosainc.com/
Heres also a page to one of their BIG places:
http://www.ponderosainc.com/park_entrance_lodge.html
It's located right near Rocky Mountain National Park, and has beautiful
views of Long's Peak and the Continental Divide. Weekly rental for that
place in particular $2600 for 1 to 20 guests. It has 8 bedrooms (king, 5
queens, 2 twins, 4 twins) and three bathrooms. That may sound a lil pricey
but split up between the attendees and you get a full week at the place for
next to nothin. The place comes with bedding, towels etc.. all you'd need to
supply would be the food and yerselves.

Rather than saying yours will be the "main one", as that title seems to be
self-proclaimed and arbitrary, I would suggest saying that
yours will be "one of them".
Over the past few years it has become painfully clear that not all AW Cits
get along nor do they have the same interests within AW.
Different age groups. Different social backgrounds. Some build. Some simply
enjoy chatting. Some aren't interested in be "crazy", just in having a
pleasant time.
Several different reunions in different locations will give ppl the chance
to choose who they want to socialize with and what activities they want to
partake in.
The UK has had several reunions over the years. Pity AWI didn't advertise
them. I'm sure Austrailia has more than enough Cits to have a reunion as
does
all of Europe and Asia. How about a reunion in Canada?
I think AWI should advertise any and ALL reunions. Not "sponsor" any one in
particular. That gives the unfortuneate impression that one is "better than"
another or that some are not worth being attended.
After all, AWI isn't paying the airfare or the hotel costs. The Cits are.

Well said tart :) one thing tho I don't think AW sponsers any of them. Just
because someone from awi may go to a reunion does not mean they sponser
them. U r right there is no "main" one. It's who ever wants to get one
started somewhere just does it on their own or with or without a comittee
of their choosing. It is very hard work for someone to get all the hotel and
tours situated snd researching all the alternatives. no matter what reunion
it is. and for a person to say that theirs is the main one is just plain
wrong. They did not work any harder on it than someone else having a reunion
somewhere else. And a lot depends on how far ppl can afford to go. it should
not be a competition. after all its all for a common purpose and thats to
bring together as many of the community to meet in rl whether it be in
Timbucktoo or Transylvania. I hope both are a great success.

Also, they provide webcam feeds at AW GZ, and they advertise it.
There is an official reunion, and it is more official than Cablecar
Gal's. Deal with it.
I'd suggest that Cablecar Gal decides on a name for hers if she hasn't
already, to differentiate it from the official reunion.

and just how did they sponser it? just being on the comittee doesnt mean awi
sponsers it. they r ppl just like us but happen to have a job working for
awi. awi did not sponser it. and just because theres a picture at gz doesnt
mean awi sponsers it. all ya gotta do is ask awi if they will put a sign at
gz and they will. no big deal there to do that.
