Telegram from Diane, sent 47 minutes ago:
Daphne passed away tonight about 5:30 ;o( I know she counted you as one of
her dearest friends. She was still weak from her surgery last year, and
Sunday she and her husband went shopping, she insisted on taking the cart
back, ran into a guard rail with it, and when it flipped her forward, broke
a rib. The rib punctured her lung lining. she thought she was having heart
trouble, so she had Howard take her to the hospital. It was all downhill
from there. I'm still in tears here, don't know what else to say. AW has
been her life for alot of years, it won't be quite the same without her
here. Muir Funeral Home in Lapeer, Mich probably Friday or Saturday
services. Daphne Coon

Diane said she requested to be wearing an aw t-shirt for burial.

I've lost a dear friend and AW has lost a valuable citizen :((((

This was very sad news, dont not what to say, AW have lost a dear friend,
and one that brings enjoy to all.

I am so very sorry and upset to hear this. Daphne was a inspiration to what
we all try to be like in AW. She was one of the Friends no matter what we
could turn to.

AW has lost a great person who despite illness always was there for all
members.



I know I can speak for Linn also. we are both gutted.
RIP Daphne you def will be missed

God this hurts :(( Diane sent me the same gram too...I thought it was a
hoax at first. Daphne was one of my closest friends. AW has truely
lost one of it's best citizens :((

with her *S* and *G* and and multiple exclamation points and question marks.
Such a loss.

I am so sorry to hear this.. :( My condolences to all her friends and
family... not only in Real Life.. but in VR Life as well.. She will be

I am Shocked . this is a very sad day.
My thought's and prayers go out to her family and to her many friends here
in AW.
I have known Daphne for over six years and although we didn't ALWAYS see eye
to eye, I respected her commitment to making AW what it is today amd counted
her as a friend. We worked on many things over the years together and I know
she will be missed terribly. She will live on here in AW . that I am sure !

i jest called the funeral home to see if the family is accepting
flowers..... and was told that the family is there right now arranging
details for the funeral which will be held saturday 11am. there will be a
wake starting at 4pm on friday. there might be a online condolences to the
family set up also.
our prayers go to the coon family.

I didn't know Daphne very well personally, but I've seen her in AW and
am aware of all of the great things she has done and have come to have
great respect for her. I'll keep her and her family in my prayers. If I
may ask, what surgery did she have done?

Let's not forget the passing of Raine, Peg (Jetta's wife), and the other
AW citizens that have died throughout the years.

To the AW community,

I'm very sorry to hear this. Daphne and myself had at first a very
cordial relationship. This turned later into clashings, and since a
while were were not on speaking terms. Even then, I always respected
and admired Daphne's dedication to the community. She will be missed
by friend and foe. My sincere condolences to her family and friends,
she will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I transmitted these sad news to DigitalSpace (Bruce Damer aka
digigardener, and Stuart Gold, aka San Marco). Daphne worked with
DigitalSpace, as she did with many, for many years with a lot of
energy and goodwill. Most of the av worlds have something she gave
us.

This is a sad day indeed.

Sorry to hear it... I don't even know what to say :( She was a great
friend, and was always there to help anyone who needed it.

Immigration Officer: It is with great great sadness that we inform you of
the passing of our beloved friend and virtual mother, Daphne. Memorial site
for Daphne is in AW at 8181S 1107E. Our thought and prayers are with her
family.

I was both shocked and felt loss when I saw that upon entry into AW. You
will be missed Daphne!

I heard this news from tunablues, he telegrammed me about a memorial build
for her. At first I couldn't remember her, but then I remember when I was
more of a newbie to AW, I used to keep her on my contacts list.

Truly, she was a huge inspiration to all of us, and, she will be in my
prayers for the next little while.

It is amazing how this program, Active Worlds, can bring everyone together
for such a long time, and then when they go, it affects so many people. It
seems nobody knows what they have, until it's gone.

I hope everyone who reads this message, telegrams tunablues, and gets the
cords in AW for her memorial, and I hope you all leave her something.

She spent the last few days of her life on AW, which truly amazes me, her
motivation, to keep fighting, and keep going, for as long as you can.

There is one less citizen in Active Worlds, one less user on the list, one
less person to laugh and smile with.

Goodbye Daphne, I never really knew you, but you still greatly affected the
AW community, which also affected me, and everyone else.

I knew her pretty well...while I was working at AW, she sent me at least
one telegram per day reminding me not to work too hard and to have at
least a little fun. Her death is a devastating loss to AW. Please
