The Passion of The Christ is the true story about how God gave his only
son so whoever believes in him may not perish but have everlasting life. If you are looking for a movie, pick up a ticket and see this movie. It will change your life. I am not trying to force my views on you, just giving some nice advice. baroFeb 25, 2004, 6:15pm
I prefered him in "Air America", Crashing a smaller plane INSIDE a bigger
plane to hide from the bad guys!? Oh Mel... bowenFeb 25, 2004, 6:22pm

This may shatter your reality, but he was a jew. brockFeb 25, 2004, 6:58pm

Hmm, read the Book. It's a great story no matter what, if any, religion you
are. Looking forward to the movie. No need to trash a guy because he has a belief. I have no more objection to carl posting this info regarding a movie than someone posting info regarding a social event in AW. I don't consider someone to be forcing something on me when they post about events I could care less about and if carl wants to post about this movie thats ok, with me, too. Heck, you never know...he may just be right. [View Quote] bowenFeb 25, 2004, 7:55pm

I show no sympathy for one person's beliefs over another. If someone
came here and praised Allah, I would have said the same thing. The same for Jehovah and the Jews. baroFeb 25, 2004, 7:58pm
And this has nothing to do with aw community. I don't come here telling
everyone to go rent the zoolander DVD because I just watched the out-takes special feature and it was 'teh funny'. It's "aw community" not "RL movie reviews". Then again if something like this REALLY bugs you, just ignore the post. I just don't want to see the aw community forums turning into a movie review/religion spamming forum. carlbanksFeb 25, 2004, 8:42pm

it is just part of the bible being retold in a more realistic way then
the past movies have done.... it is not saposed to be a big action movie.. it is saposed to be telling the story of jesus' last days, as realistic as mel could make it. now if you want some good movie with a lot of action and more entertaining, watch something else. what you are saying is almost like reading the bible and saying "This book sucks!". well.. it is saposed to just be a book telling the history. not made to entertain you. and by the way, i am catholic, but i am not preaching here or reviewing the movie. i am just saying what the movie was intended to be. if you dont like it, dont see it... just like if you dont like religion, dont go to church... and if you dont like the bible, dont read it. simple as that. Carlbanlks,
this is the stupidest sort of crap I have heard in quite a while. First of all, what you say is very dangerous: it has been the foundation of all christian persecutions of jews in 2000 years: "the Jews rejected him" therefore they are guilty... I do not say you mean it that way, but make no mistake: generalisations like yours are extremely dangerous. Secondly, it is blatantly not true, if we are to believe the existing books of the new testament. According to the Acts of the Apostles, many jews did follow this person. The first council of Jerusalem had to sort out the differences between followers of jewish origin and of gentile origin. Thirdly, you are assuming the world is christian. Many people believe in a God, but not necessarily in the christian way of presenting God. You are proselitizing a view that may fit your particular religious orientation, ignoring that of many others: "God opened up his love to the Christians". I hope that believers in God would say: God opes his love to all. I may see the movie when it comes out on DVD. I have respect for christians and for other religions, and for non-believers. I will judge it according to my own perspective and conscience :) Did you see The Matrix? I enjoyed the 3 sequels very much :) Alex On 25 Feb 2004 16:25:10 -0500, "carlbanks" [View Quote] >Actually the Jews rejected him and God opened up his love to the Christians. strike rapierFeb 26, 2004, 12:34am

Sweet holy hell, get a grip people, he is just posting about a movie! So
what if it is his religion. Perhaps others who are christians on AW would like to see it. So, some of his info may be wrong, who cares? Read the main point of the damn post, which was him telling us it was a good movie. [View Quote] |
