Hullo!
After 4 years in AW i have decided not to pay anymore. the gate, Gatekeepers, double standards and Holocaust denial: As AW is shrinking, i found myself more and more at AWGate, which in some hours is the only place you can chat in english, not in a Ds or Gor world and without gaining ex. points. After 3 years i found out there are Gatekeepers in AW, and the sight was very unpleasant. In my opinion, most of those people are a huge disfunction. Most of them use the guidelines only to pick on people they don't like, While they let their friends say and do whatever they want. I tried to contact gatekeepers at activeworlds.com and didn't got a productive answer, then i contact the management which chose to pass my emails to kellie which, again, did nothing productive. The limit was crossed when Vermin2 was justifying Hitler's deeds at the gate, without any respond from the Gatekeeper, Tigger GK, who was aware enough of what's going on to eject me for saying the GK's made a sport from ejecting me. I guess that Tigger's ego is far much a delicate matter than the lives of the millions who died in WW2. P.S : I am still waiting for an answer from gatekeepers at activeworlds.com and kellie about Tigger's behavior that day. binarybudJun 30, 2003, 10:47am

I agree with you in the main part -if all you said was true - but you are
generalizing. Not all GKs are bad, and you can't run away crying from a few bad experiences. There is corruption everywhere, in politics, in the police force....the list is endless. Its best to just deal with it - and sit on the fence as I'm trying to. iggythealleycatJun 30, 2003, 11:45am

I agree 100%. They should hire GKs on skill and not what's in that silly
form. They have to at least monitor their GKs a bit. I remember when I was applying to be a GZ monitor in A!!CT, I was assigned to monitor the GZ and the jobs I did for some time were MONITORED to see if they were good. They based whether you were made a permanent GZ monitor or not on that, and nothing else. Thats how GKs should be evaluated. They also need to re-evaluate all the current GKs, because honestly... there are some REALLY bad ones. One way is that if they would loosen up the age restriction there would be more people to choose from. I think the best way to prevent these ejections is to give the gatekeepers
only the PS right. Then, if there's a trouble maker, they just need to call a PK. without any basis, and being extremely nasty by putting smile faces there. If you can prove that there aren't a bunch of bad GKs, I'll believe you. Honestly, I'd believe iggy over you any day. I agree with this assessment .Duo. Want to harass someone about the GK's? Let AWI know how upset you are with the current Staff and give them NAMES. If they see certain names being repeated in a bunch in Emails maybe they will listen huh?
There ARE bad apples in every bushel.....that for sure does not spoil the whole bushel.....as long as you pick out the bad ones now and then......:) Someone DOES need to sit around and watch them for performance.... I've seen some pretty lame GK's that are great people but did not know first thing about "helping" someone with a problem. It's a hard "job" to be friendly...welcoming...supportive.... and still deal with troublemakers.....and the bottom line is they VOLUNTEER for this...:) It's a neat "club" to be in......but they still need to have a channel for getting rid of the bad apples a little faster. It's amazing how fast they can get rid of a "helpful/knowledgeable" GK when they do not fit in politically or personally with a fellow GK.....but then leave a "rotten apple" on staff for years. and ignore there behavior/lack of service, only cause they are well liked in the "club"....this crap has to go. I know that..... but the GATE is not for you to harass people nor start debates. Go there if you want to help people.....or lurk.....but not to unsettle the atmosphere.
An if your chat post was in fact all the chat...then, no, it does not look like they were justified for ejecting you for sure....but ....you muted the gatekeeper...so you do not have a leg to stand on.....If i was in charge of an area(AW or not) and I was being ignored you'd get ejected also..:) Don't buck the system so much. most fall into the "troublemaker" category yes you ARE right...every now and then an innocent gets ejected...I've been ejected a bunch of times....usually the bot does it..... learn to live with that..... learn the rules of the gate then tell me it was innocent people being ejected... if your innocent then you understand why it happened...if not well....shit happens..:)

I avoid the gate as much as possible because I don't like GKs, and I try to
stop myself from expressing myself freely, but I'm impulsive and sometimes I can say thigns before I know I'm saying them... however, you don't need to be nasty.
