You are correct SIR!
Encroachment would be a nightmare. Large objects could be tilted over
someone elses build. You think there is a problem with vandalism now?

Hmmm, This has been brought up before. The AWTeen example, AWTeen has most
of the features enabled, and there hasn't been many reports of Vandalism
using these commands. Are you suggesting that AW Citizens in general cannot
be trusted and are spoilt brats hell bent on causing trouble?

By the looks of things it seems AWI is wanting to dump the 'public build
world' concept totally and is now concentrating on things like this 'NewAW'
as well as encouraging people to get a world if they want to build and take
advantage of all the features. More people leaving Public build worlds and
going to purchase a world of their own, equates to more money for AWI.
I gather from the reply E N Z O posted in to this thread, it looks like this
poll won't be happening... at least for a while yet.
Jun 19, 2003, 6:28pm
Actually it will still happen when somebody gets the time to put it up.
Right now we are doing the finals and shipping 3.4
Sorry for the delay

I don't see why you waste the money on shipping when you could just
distribute it via email...

That IS true. If the people of awteen are mature enough to handle 3 axis
rotation, I think AW is. All you have to do ismake sure you have a small
"buffer" of covered land around your build and you'll be fine.

That's quite an assumption there. As it's been said over and over, so far
it's been fine elsewhere, nowhere close to "nightmare" status. Leave it to
the people to decide if they wanna take that risk or not via the poll.
Besides, there's PKs and GET, who might I add should really beef up their
punishment to vandals. No more of this 1 day ban stuff.

And how about a poll choice to revamp AW GZ? Do you guys even know that it
still talks about registering as a citizen? As if tourists can even see it

Thats what GET is for. And when everybody was exploiting the move/rotate
bugs in alphaworld...how many incidents of vandalism were there?

I certainly doubt that, LP.
Enzo, how will vandalism become more of a problem? It hasn't increased in
AWteen.

AWTeen cannot be compared with a world like AW that has builds going back to
1995

I must say, Rick, your sense of logic has always left a lot to be desired.
What does building age have to do with anything? Last I checked, 3.4
features aren't retroactive. You won't see Grover's garden suddenly
spinning out of control or LittleBull's community center buried under
miles of terrain.
If teenagers can handle the responsibility of special commands without
causing a ruckus, why can't the relatively more mature citizens of AW be
trusted to do the same?

Have to agree with Goob on this one. And actually if you want to lessen the
harm done to old builds, then disable the browser referrer in AW, as that
renders images hosted on free services like tripod useless (And we all
wouldn't want a historical build turning into the world's biggest Tripod ad,
now wouldn't we?)
As for vandalism, I'll repeat myself, that's what the GET is there for.

There is actually NO problem if people in AW cover their land a bit further
out than they usually would - say an extra 50 coords in each direction. 200
to be sure as thats the maximum visability.
I'm sure there is enough space in AW to do this, as many people in AWTeen do
this - its only common sense.
