This world is asking people to register to play bingo. They want all your
personal information, before you play. Home address, home phone, full name,
email address, etc. Does this just seem alittle off to everyone?? Or was
it just was that were in there? I am alittle worried about the not-so-smart
internet people that might give that info, just so they can play and "win
cool prizes". Enzo, anyone....can they do this?!

And how on earth did they send a message to the entire universe to advertise
this? (not only that, the world only holds 10 people at a time!!!)

Well, I got a nice Spiderman DVD from them, so I'm not complaining. Well..

believe they can be trusted.

They probabaly don't have one. Even if they are honest and giving away
things that they promise, theres still a chance they mighjt not deliver the
items they promise, or do something even worse.

People can keeo trusting them if they wish - but if something like that does
happen, you won't have a leg to stand on, legally.

My thing is they are trying 1 set of information with another, citnum and
address. I feel that should only be done via the major company, ie: Active
Worlds Inc

I agree strike. I was just wondering if AW had some policy on this?? I
know they say to not give this info away to anyone...but there is a whole
world now asking for everything! From your address, phone number, cit
number, cit name, real name, ss#, hair and blood sample, first born child,
deed to your house, and twinkie in your pants! (ok, not really all of that,
but it cracked me up) But really, what for?! Why would anyone need all
that info?

Maybe so they can send the prizes to your house? Kinda hard for them to
mail you a DVD if they don't know your name and address. :P

atcual prizes.

It looks like they use the information to mail out prizes. I am not sure
what their business plan is or how they generate the prizes. They are not
using citizen infomation collected by AWI. I would say that if someone
wants to play a game, the player has to decide for themself what information
they are willing to give out.

The universe message was given by someone on staff who used their
discretion. This is not unheard of :)

Oh and please do not use my email address when you register ;)

I want to know whether they ask for this info intitially or only if you win
a prize. They should only need to if you have won something.

May be worth figuring out, last thing AWI needs is businesses with no
identifyable source of finance raking in citizen information with no
personal security policy.

I think people have to accept some common sense responsibility for personal information that they give to others on the internet...
There is no way AWI can tell a user what they can or can not say to others about their personal info...

I liken this to going to a store to purchase a newspaper and thinking the store owner should be able to control with whom you
discuss personal information, during the time it takes you to read the paper... Personal security is just that, 'PERSONAL'...

LOL wondering if how many actually claim their prize after winning bingo...I
can assure that you are entitled what you won tho...it is up to the one who
did win with the cit they won it under...if the cit changes names then maybe
we do need to know the cit number...there are signs in each bingo world
showing how to claim the prize...maybe we can not have Bingo as much since
we don't fill up the world....is only a thought...hate to see folks pulling
their hair out for prizes lol...

I do agree with MIKsam on how and what folks send in, If I remember right
only a cit number and email address with the prize you won on the date you
won it is all that is requested...no hair samples or skin tissues are needed
at this time lol
