Learned the hard way that if anyone in AW *gives* you anything, ie: world,
citizenship they are still the owners and also have the responsibility of
the worlds, accounts and can retrieve them at their choosing :o)
By responsibility, the owner of any accounts/worlds that they choose to give
away will be liable for any illegal acts committed even if they are not at
fault.. (something to ponder).
I have given many citizenships away or bought them for friends, neighbors,
etc., but also am cautious about the person's behavior before I sign on the
dotted line.

how would he have the login info on his computer before he even tryed
accessing the NGs? he's just got them saved here to log on without having to
retype it, got nothing to do with the actual user database the NNTP server
has for only letting cits post here... thing is that they don't seem to
update it all too often (sometimes it seems not even to enact all the
changes, as has happened when Facter tryed banning some ppl lol)...

I *really* hate to sound like the proverbial devil here, but you got EXACTLY
what you paid for!!! Based on what you've said so far, you sent in NO $$$
so *technically speaking* YOU HAD NO CITIZENSHIP!!!!
Now, I *will* agree that you should get the land owed to you (although even
THAT would be rather generous of AW to do), however if *I* were you, I
wouldn't exactly hold your breath. :-)
Besides, with a PROPERLY PAID FOR 3D Homepage, you could probably get the
same amount of land back (and then some!) - AND YOU WOULD LEGALLY OWN IT ALL
BY YOURSELF!!!
Now, with that said, I'm not going to add salt to the proverbial wound by
rubbing it in. But it is EXACTLY because of cases like this that AW (or any
other "Dot Com" for that matter!) don't encourage the transferring of ANY
account for ANY reason. It's just that simple.
In all sincerity, I do wish you well with your new citizenship, but I also
hope you've learned a lesson or two stemming from your "old" one.
Just my $.02 worth...
Cheers for now everyone :-)

Personally speaking, I think Data21 ought to just take back the things
he/she built and be done with it. He/she can then take out a 3D Homepage
and put the stuff there or create his/her OWN world.
In other words, Data21 was burnt once by this person (allegedly!). Why
should he/she go back to this person and risk putting him/herself (sorry,
don't know your gender Data21 :-)) in a position to be BURNED AGAIN???
Going back doesn't make sense to me.....

well if you would READ it ALL you will see that I could not send money into
it, AW lied 2 times about it not being under any worlds, and they did not
know who was paying for it. Therefor there was no reason really to pay for
it. Its AW fault for lying to me twice.
Now all of a sudden they say its under a world hmm interesting how things
change when things go wrong :-/

Data....I *did* read it all and *personally*(if not quite honestly!) I think
you should take what you can and gladly GET OUT OF DODGE (i.e. get out of
this owner's hair)!!! That all *I'm* suggesting you do. I'm NOT trying to

Sue em??? Think bout this for a minute. There is no money lost here. Data
didn't pay anything. But he would have to pay court costs. Is it worth all
the stress and trouble just to get the boy's rights back??? Until somebody
could get the courts to understand what he is trying to fight for, we're
talking a very long time and a lot of money for attorney retainer fees, etc.
What it would probably boil down to in the court's eyes is something called
"creative rights" because basically that's what it is since Data needs his
rights returned so he can get his building privs back. In the court's eyes,
AW would be considered a "Bryce" type of program with a chat. The judge
might even think it would be a waste of time and paperwork to pursue
something of this nature.

Just because they said they didn't know doesn't mean they lied to you.
It could be that they honestly didn't know (and given AWC's past
examples of incompetence, I wouldn't put it past them)! And just because
they never said it was under a world doesn't mean it was never under a
world. Like I said, if they truly didn't know whose it was, how are they
supposed to know if it was under a world or not?

Get out of this owner's hair?
haha I am the owner of that cit.
It's not my fault AW did not know who was renewing it for me!
It's not my fault AW told me it was not under any world for 2 years!
How this all happened I still have no idea!
As I said before I won that cit fair and square, and the person that gave it

This thing took place in the world named Armor.
The way I see it, if someone gives you something, there is no way they can

'Twas just an honest jest ;o) ... 3d Homepages have sadly been given very
little respect in the newsgroups especially after recent events. I thought
it was funny to see such an staunch advocate stick his head into the
proverbial lion's den.
Personally, I'm glad you get so much enjoyment from your 3D Homepage - its
not often we get such an enthusiastic and POSITIVE post in here.
Good luck,

Yep thats a sign of the times...
Many panaiced and left AW to other places, sadley any free cits connected
with them worlds are gone as well, you could have renewed that cit under
your own name when that time came, hence making you a "legal" owner of a
free world cit.
End of the day its the one who pays has the upper hand. Mind you with the
thread here im not surprised someone doesent take the name and sell it to
you..

It was a figure of speech. I was talking about what Goober King elaborated
on.

From what I remember reading, Data CAN'T take his creations with him since
they now have Loki's name stamped all over them. That is in part, some of
what Data's complaint is. Data was, for over 2 years, one of the major
builders in DLP, building not just in some of the worlds there but helping
to create most of the landscape. He was a pivotal creator of most of what
you see in DLP today. With Loki's name stamped on most of those builds, Data
cannot do anything with those objects. He cannot move them, nor change them
in any way, (ie delete them).

Humm interesting I was under the impresion this thread refered to AW, from
my understanding DLP builds ate in datas name as he is a member of the
universe board I dont see anyone taking a cit away from a technical and
educational officer of any Universe.
In fact a technical officer should if this refered to the said Universe
should be able to see such information.

Nothing stopping him taking them elsewhere ... A very simple solution is
HamFon's Buildbot ... it doesn't give a monkey's navel about the citizen
number its built on ... in fact he can filter the scan using it!
Not sure how else he was intending to "take it with him" anyway.

You're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT Lioness!!!
This merely adds to my contention that Data21 (and everyone else for that
matter!) would be FAR better off just getting what he can from the owner of
Loki world and GET OUT OF DODGE ASAP with what little dignity he has left!!!
And, as I also said earlier, he could then use the stuff to build HIS OWN,
PAID FOR world or 3D Homepage.
Goober is also right about the *possibility* of AW *truly* not knowing too
(especially since they ALSO had NO IDEA that Data was using a citizenship
that SOMEONE ELSE was paying for as well).
Get layers involved if you want to Data. But you had better be able to take
being shoved back (especially if AW is the one doing the shoving).
Just my $.02 worth....Cheers :-)
