That's it....

Jan 8, 2002, 12:25am
If awcom STILL can't realize their obviusly moronic decisions aren't helping
them at all, but in fact are doing just the opposite, by *NOW* then i
question their real intentions. I keep hearing all these things about AW
closing down universe (i know there cracked but still, they never noticed
until they started getting all of their users) and making free citezinship
universe pay is pathetic. If they actually think people are still going to
keep buying universes their crazy. I really think they need to use their
brain and see the damage they are doing. Not only have a lot of my favorite
worlds emptied with signs to sign petitions, a lot of people are already
planning on the trip our for when AW starts charging them.

It's all really sickening to watch AW end like this (IF it does). Now we
know just what kind of business owners they are, even though some of us have
seen it for a long time. If they don't shape up by the time my cit expires,
not to mention almost everyone else in aw who is going to leave as soon as
their cit expires (and im not kidding either), then they will instantly lose
all the money we've couldve payed them if they made a smarter choice. I
mean, they could at least put it down to $5 a month or something, an MMORPG
is that much and that has FAR more entertaining things to do then this and i
would glady choose one fo those overt his, then a lot more people woudl stay
(even me probably).

So thats what i have to say. If they dont change by next January when my cit
expires (im going to pay for star wars galaxies in the fall and woudl rather
pay for that then aw) then i'm gone, even though i would like to stay. I'm
even debating wether to pay the $40 in March to renew my world (A'Dude)
becuase of this.

if you read it more carefully you'd know i didn't call DLP cracked. i just
refered to both cracked unis and the uni that aw made them pay (you) not as
the same thing

told you!

Jan 8, 2002, 6:24pm
actually they dont but they dont listen to there own rules. just becuase you
sold them doesnt mean you can control how its run. but hey, whos gonna sue
them? probably no-one

New AW object set

Jan 8, 2002, 7:14pm
actually its $10 a month, like any other onlie GAME which AW sure the hell
isnt as entertaining as one.

Re: ...abuse?...

Jan 8, 2002, 11:51pm
how can that be that smart...,,yes smart if you mean as in smart enough to
get their entire customer base to scream and run for their wallets. Just
becuase we're all here now does not mean were all going to pay. No, so
shutting down the places that people will go (or makign them pay) when they
jack up the prices won't help then anymore then their going now, now people
will just plain leave instead of going ot those other unis and then they
lose the nuiserver payments also. Oh yes, what a BRILLIANT plan!

i wouldnt mind $5 a month but $10 a month is what a highly entertaining
online game costs which AW is not

we dont WANT aw to be a game though. not in the way we think of games now. a
way they could do that is to make tools for worldowners to make more
intresting and complex games. i have no idea how this could be done but only
then could they charge that much. bots right now cant hold that good of
games, they can only control objects, talk, and moniter what the person is
doing and move objects or talk in response to that. a way they could do this
is to make more bot options. just dont ask me exactly what that would be

Any idea on 3.3?

Jan 26, 2002, 7:30pm
end of summer i guess? they still have to beta test it which i guessing will
begin at the begging of summer or a little bit before that but no one really
knows becuase they havent done coding it

Virus alert

Jan 30, 2002, 5:52pm
dont always work....all of a sudden im getting lots of porn and emails
promising me ciagra and nonsense like that. it had to of been some site i
entered my e-mail in but all the unsubsribe links take me to a proffesional
looking unsubsribe page with a contact page and everything (prolly fake) but
no matter how many times you put it in there it never stops. But im not
stupid and im taking action.

I have this program that tracks the IP and figures out which ISP they sent
it from. I send a letter to the abuse with a spam alert and then the ISP
will most likely cancel their ISP account, even if its a hotmail adress.

New Pricing...

Feb 6, 2002, 7:52pm
actually all online games are $10-$15 a month with the exception of EQ's new
$40 a month server where your supposed to get more quests or whatever, which
is usually standard in any game bu i guess they are trying to see how much
people are willing to pay.

But, i think this price is definitly more resonable then before. I kind of
question there "pay to have tourists enter your world". The only reason they
did that is becuase the worldowners thought tourists should be allowed, so
they foudn the oppurtunity to get soem extra money out of them, but whos
gonna pay anyways? So basicly only tourists in AWGate unless anyone is
insane enough to pay that much just to let tourists in, but you never know.

New Pricing...

Feb 6, 2002, 8:12pm
60 a year is a bit much just for tourist enter rights. Thats the price of
20+ coords (i think). It just sounds to me like becuase all the worldowners
wanted tourists to stay that they will sneak in a price anywhere they can.

Each day comes closer, closer to July, but trouble it causes, and no-one =
knows why.

The citships stop coming, the pricing will change, and the citship =
numbers, will begin to range.

Safira, the world, it's pretty walls curled will have some slight =
problems as the pricing is twirled.

AWTeen, the place, covered and green and full of grace, will start to =
turn grey, crumbling and falling, the distant prey.

AW, the center, whose great buildings have been to many a mentor, will =
start to decline, and a dark age will enter.

Nutopia, the place, where nutcases stay, where horses stand straight, =
and people eat hay, will start to display an end to the day.

Activeworlds, the booming giant, is now going quiet, for it has been =
slain.

From the inside it began, from the inside it ended, but after it =
flourished, from pressure it bended.

In the beginning was spun, an idea of fun, but after some time, the =
damage was done.

Cracked unis were made, 'verses without pay, to take hold of a storm, at =
the end of the day.

Pay cuts were made, new employees were hired, but the revenues made, =
caused some more to be fired.

Outer Worlds, tried and true, a universe proven to me and you, saddles =
the reins, and with it, the pains.

And the clock ticks onward......................................

Onward to July.

Cozmo's Comment:

This was not my work. In now way does this piece of writing necessarily =
reflect my personal opinion in any way. It is the entire, un-edited =
version of what the person told me at the time. Some of the worlds =
mentioned in the poems may not be well-known (they have personal meaning =
to the author) but I felt I should keep them in there and in no way is =
the world names intended to be advertisement. This poem is not meant to =
change the opinion of anyone else (unless it does anyways) and I also =
apologize about the HTML but it makes it easier to read.

Please post comments if you would like, do not start arguments against =
the opinions please as the author probably wont be reading this and I =
don't really care >:-)

-=3D-=3D-
P.S. If your wondering what the importance of "July" in the poem is, =
this is what the author said:

"July is when most citships expire, including mine."
