ingiebee // User SearchA carrying bot?Jul 26, 2000, 7:30pm
Is there a bot that makes use of the supposed new feature in v 3.0,
where you should be able to attach an avatar to an object, such as a boat, or a car, or a car on a roller coaster, and have it take you places? Not bump warp, like what currently exists, you know, where you leave the static object and "pretend" to be carried away? has someone gotten this to work, or has someone made a bot for this feature yet? thanks, Ingie Learn to program bots!May 18, 2001, 9:04am
Oh, does this take me back. Never did study programming, but when my sister
was in college, in 78 or 79, I used to go see what she was up to. LOL, even then, it was OLD! My mom was already using those cards to make cristmas decorations. She's been in computers since the '50s. You guys really take me back, thanks! Love Ingie [View Quote] O MY DEAR LORD I WAS RIGHTJan 18, 2001, 4:12pm
Isn't it hard to type with capitals on all the time? LOL I don't know why
people are so particular about spelling, grammar, or etc... when it is somewhat understandable ;oP. I've talked in newsgroups which were international, and everyone was speaking english. Yet, even though these people were making the effort to communicate in a foreign tongue, they got splattered with nasty notes for their spelling and grammar. I can hardly speak my native english and found it so offensive! Hi, I was wondering if Andras or anyone else has gotten around to creating a
bot.... such as a boat, car, airplane, whatever... which can be "entered" and will transport a rider (or better still, riders) to another location. Having acutal control while you ride in the thing could be really cool too. I've given up on trying to learn programming, LOL. It makes my pea brain hurt! Bots you can "ride" inMay 21, 2001, 8:34am
Hummm, what is a "daniel" bot? Is it one of your own that you are working
on, or is it one that is available that you are "tweeking"? Sounds interesting, even if you can't control where it goes yourself, it would still be cool if you could "ride" it. Thanks, Ingie [View Quote] Bots you can "ride" inMay 22, 2001, 8:31am
Ok, I'll try to find you some time after this kid is outa my tummy!!! GET
OUT I SAY!!! (my 5 yr old son wants to go back in!!!!) Nite! [View Quote] interesting idea not sure if its possible but here it isApr 12, 2000, 11:01pm
Yes, that would be great, ride around in a taxi or boat. I think they're
making it possible to create bots to do it with.....at least that's what I've heard :o) [View Quote] interesting idea not sure if its possible but here it isApr 14, 2000, 9:36pm
Wish list, eh? Ok, here I go again....Apr 12, 2000, 11:17pm
Just found this section. My wish is that we have the option to turn off the
repeating ground object because if you want to put in a natural looking landscape that you could walk around on, without having pieces of land render in front of you all the time, and have it act as a true solid land , unique, not repetitive, that would be the best way to do it. Currently, I have in my world, ArtDeco, a type of landscape that I'm talking about (you need version 3 to see it) and when you try to walk forward a few meters, you end up having the ground jump ahead of you, as if you've been teleported back from where you came. So, currently, a 3d ground object won't work, and a large single object would dissappear when you walk too far away from the center axis. For people who own a limited size world like myself, we don't need the infinate plane. We can only build so far anyway. Why not let us have the option of a non repeating ground plane, It doesn't sound hard to do, or is it??? :o) Waddaya think? If any of you play Everquest, you can see what I mean, the new fog option really enhances this type of ground object wonderfully too! I wish Roland could get some help ;o)May 8, 2000, 10:21pm
Poor Roland, he's AW's only hope.....WOW can't someone help him? ;o)

Oh, still, on the serious side, that's hardly a big team, I just read up on your
new site :o) [View Quote] > HamFon is... > [View Quote] I like your new web site, Eep!May 8, 2000, 10:32pm
Looking it over, looks good, and awfully optimistic for you :o).
Thanks, Ingie I like your new web site, Eep!May 13, 2000, 5:55pm
Hummmm, I guess it's been gone long enough, and my memory is so short, it looked new to me, hee hee hee.
I don't remember all the AW logos etc.... ;o) [View Quote] > Er, which new website? I haven't made any new ones recently. ;) But thanks for the compliment anyway. > [View Quote] Large object supportMay 15, 2000, 11:41pm
well, I don't see it here, so I thought I'd write it in, even though I
understand Roland is working on rendering at a distance for large objects. The other thing is to make them solid as well, It would be nice to be able to put an entire model of a building, one you could go into and explore without the disorientation of having it render in front of you or disappear when you walk too far away from the origin point :o) Large object supportMay 28, 2000, 10:27pm
great, I'm gonna go check it out

Yes, that's what I was asking for originally, something like that to work, only I find
that large objects, when you get too far from their origin point, tend to disappear, causing you to fall through them ??? have you had this problem? Hummm, now I know what eep means, I can't get to 50n 0e because teleports are
disabled, and i can't walk there because you have fences, trees, etc..... all obstructing the way. I did like falling in the river though, no getting out, and flowing downstream, lol. However, would have liked to see your "cheat" on the world limitation, lol. nice graphics though :o) [View Quote] > I have some landscape objects about 500 x 500 meters big in Mandalay (or > actually right outside) which have become solid with AW 3.0 so I now can > walk on them without falling through. > For an example visit the swamp at 50n 0e in Mandalay - the ground North from > there (utside the building limit) is one giant object. > Rocambole > [View Quote] Undo?May 22, 2000, 5:07am
I've made ding dong mistakes, mostly deleting something accidentally or
moving something (not as bad) that I didn't want to delete/move and wished there were a delete button, how bout that one? (ps. if someone already suggested it, sorry, hee hee hee) Also multiple duplicate would also be nice Thanks :o) Ingie Undo?May 23, 2000, 1:56am
object activated seq'sMay 23, 2000, 2:02am
is it possible to have an object activate a seq on an avatar, such as a
chair and sitting? or is it possible to make a key or a few keys on the keyboard assignable to seq's? Animated ObjectsJun 15, 2000, 3:37am
awsome idea, was trying to figure out how to make "wind" in the trees
[View Quote] Animated ObjectsJul 26, 2000, 7:03pm
Ah, yes, I suppose if I keep it simple enough, that might work :o)
[View Quote] > Just make alternate tree objects tilted slightly (depending on what kind of tree: sprite, more complex model, etc) and then set the tree objects moving in an animation like I have the bouncing globe in Cubed and moving spotlights in Hole do (although the animation tends to get screwed up a lot :/ ). > [View Quote] List of stuff i wanna see added and doneJun 10, 2000, 3:55pm
I don't know, I find that seq quite charming, reminds me of my son, lol
[View Quote] True Full Screen Viewing ModeJun 15, 2000, 3:34am
Yes, and typed input and output could be superimposed on the screen, so you
don't have any windows at all??? [View Quote] Multiple Object PathsJun 15, 2000, 3:32am
That's a really good idea! so much repitition, and everyone wouldn't have
to redownload the basics everytime they enter a world. Really good idea!! [View Quote] I wish they'd do away with the limit on how many people can come intoJun 27, 2000, 3:47am
It seems totally ridicules. Worlds seldom have more than 3 people in
them and when you want to have a party, you have to prearrange it with AW which excludes any impromptu parties. Why bother? It would be such a nice feature, not to have a limit, and wouldn't cost anything to Active Worlds....(system wise that is) ;o) I wish they'd do away with the limit on how many people can come intoJun 28, 2000, 5:14am
Just charge for land size...period!!
