I am trying to see what money I can get back on my unused portion of my
world, and bingo will be stopped in Pleasure.

I have been gone from AW during an absence of illness. I came back to
being threatened with being banned from AW, due to someone given me some
avatars that were copyrighted. I gave them to two different people in Feb.
I can not remember who I gave them to. (If you read this, and it was you,
will you please contact JP at AW and let them know you have them and are not
using them, or whatever. I honestly dont care what you say to them, if you
say anything.) When it was brought to my attention that they were
copyrighted, I contacted the seller (who's name I cant remember now) and
told them what happened.

I was told to ask each person to please dispose of the avatar, and to not
worry about it. I was told that I did the right thing and I was thanked for
handling the situation. I asked if they wanted the names of the people they
were sent to, and I was told not to worry about it.

Well, unfortunately, my hard drive has crashed since then so I do not have
any names of anyone. And that was so long ago that I do not remember that
stuff. I have real life to remember.

I dont care to go through the melodrama of AW anymore. It is childish, and
honestly rediculous. I have been faithful to AW, never done anything wrong,
not once!! Threaten me? Forget it, I will gladly leave. It was great fun
while it lasted, and maybe I will see some of you in different programs.

Innie I hope you do not leave. It's hard to cope with situations like this
.... especially copyright stuff ... but you are a great gal and well, perhaps
if you just give it time? Take a breather? Come back tho, cause some of us
would miss you! Hugzzz

Whoever gave you the copyrighted avs should be the one taking the heat for
you hon. They should stand up for what is fair. I mean afterall, its not
like you profited from those avs. When you opened your world it was for a
fun game of bingo and you asked for DONATIONS for the prizes. I'm sure there
are some knowledgable people in AW who can easily straighten this mess out.
It's not fair that you were the one asked to leave. Obviously those people
don't read these newsgroups much. I'd hate to see you leave AW over this
when there are others out there who are not speaking up on your behalf. It
would also help some if the person to whom those avs belong would understand
the circumstances and not press the issue. It is obvious you are trying to
correct whatever mistakes happened. Understanding and Tolerance are virtues
that not many AW users have demonstrated lately. You have tried to make AW a
better, more fun place to visit, and opened your world to ALL adults, not
just a specific group of people. You will be missed by a lot of people
Innie. Not just for your world Pleasure, but mostly for your friendship and
the smiles you bring to the people that you meet. Please don't leave over
this. There are other avenues to take. Most of us know the difference tween
right and wrong and know in our hearts that you didn't steal those avs for
your own gain. It would be nice if more people came forward to speak up for
you or at least clear your good name. ;-"/

I just wonder what the heck AWI has to do with some copyright issues, unless
they have been the creators off the avatars in questions.
But you are right, AWI always start by threating with banning; nothing like,
we would like to ask you about a thing, or a thing has been brought to our
attension that we would like to discuss; nope, they just threat to ban you.
The fact that they might accuse you of something that is not even illegal
or even recomended by themselves do not change anything. And last, dont ever
expect them to apologize for calling you a criminal.

I have sometimes been wondering about the copyrights. As far as I know one
can for example quote even long parts from a book as long as you tell the
source. You can put pictures of famous paintings in your book. I do not see
why one could not "quote" a few models out of a large collections as long as
one did tell the source and did not use it to make profit.
Point is, i do not understand why 3d art would be so more special than 2d
art or books.

Goddess Innie,

Hopefully you reconsider leaving. Sometimes, in seemingly the worst
situations, perseverance has its rewards, along with some hard gained wisdom
under you belt for the next time you are faced with a similar situation.

You are much loved in AW. Hugs.

Innie,

I'm glad to see you are feeling better!! You were missed. I am not glad,
however, to see that you are considering leaving AW!! As one of the people
who received the av in question, if you (or anybody who knows) will give me
some direction on how to address an email to JP, I'll be happy to explain
what happened from my end of the event. I have had no dealings with AW
personnel beyond bingo prizes so I am unsure how to contact the correct
people.

Thanks for any help :)
*hugs*
Anjaleka
