I'm getting an error message when I send posts to any topic of this ng,
saying I'm not authorized to post in beta or somesuch. When I come back to
any topic, I see my message even though the error said the post wasn't sent.
Do I have something set wrong in the ng?

Here's the Outlook Express error I'm getting for every post, no matter where
in the ng I'm posting to...

Outlook Express could not post your message. Subject 'Weird stuff in 490',
Account: 'news.activeworlds.com', Server: 'news.activeworlds.com', Protocol:
NNTP, Server Response: '440 you do not have posting access to {beta}', Port:

Your trying to post in Beta...which is a newsgroup you need special access
to.

LOL I had that error problem once, when I was not on the beta team and tried
to post to the beta newsgroup, the error message is in your OutLook Exspress
cache and will remain there until you delete it, it's been a while since I
got that but I think if you go to TOOLs and MAINTENANCE you will find a way
to delete the error message.
Sorry cant be a little more helpful, but it's been a while since I had to do
it.

Sorry I don't have an answer. I get that error sometimes too. But, usually
when I close outlook and re-open it, the error is gone.

this happens all the time it's THEIR server..... wait a minute or so, when posting, and it should work everytime. This News Server seems to "go to sleep" every now and then more NOW then then too...;)

This indeed was the problem. My other posts were going through, but then OE
was trying to send the beta one that was sitting in the outbox. Every time
it sent to the groups I could access, it would try to send the beta post
too. I've deleted that post from my outgoing and all is fine now. Thank you
all so much for your input!

She managed to post into general.discussion so *obviously* she's not having
trouble everywhere.
