Has the time on the news server not been corrected yet? Or are all my clocks off by
an hour?

Most of Europe switched to DST lately, maybe it's that?

We did here in the states too, but shouldn't it be an hour less than what it is?

I know that VRT doesn't change with respect to DST. Maybe they synchronize to the same source and it's made for VRT. Maybe the server people are just forgetful ;)

I think the latter is more... likely. Lazy schlubs.

Servers are often not adjusted to the current DST at all,
on unix you can change the displayed time representation
by changing shell variables.
This makes sense as servers often rely on time differences
on file system entries and on time sync. with other servers.
For me, the time stamps on this news server look correct so
it might be a setting on Bowen's PC.

It's one hour in advance.

what it is?
my clocks off by an hour?

The news server time is 1 hour ahead for me also.
The only thing that would cause this is not all countries do DST so if the
news server is in a country that dose not do DST there time will never
change.
Or like some said , the people that run the news server forgot to update
there time for DST.
But this is not the case if the server is in an area that dose not do DST
and its not because it's on the east coast of the USA.
It is set wrong because its Spring ahead 1 hour Fall back 1 hour for the
countries that do it.
Looks like some one set it ahead 1 hour like they should have, then someone
else came in and also set it ahead 1 hour with out asking if it was done yet
or not, this would be the leading cause of why it's 1 hour fast even for
those in the same time zone as the news server like me, the news server time
should be equal to my time and its not.

That's true, if it wasn't doing DST it wouldn't be that far ahead.

Day Light Savings time changes are dependant on whether you are on the
Northern or Southern Hemisphere, and countries that are closer to the
equator do not implement DLS at all. The whole point of DLS is to get more
sunshine hours.
To implement DLS changes to AW VRT would be just silly - AW is neither North
or South of the equator!

It's two hours ahead then. If it didn't implement DLS it would be behind us.

If AW was to be "located" anywhere based on VRT, it would be around North
Brazil, or above Brazil in the Atlantic Ocean.

The NG time was always based on EST. Now that it's 2 hours ahead on the day of EST
(if they don't do DST) is odd.
