User Ranks... // Wishlist

Hiya All...
I think a nice feature for 3.6, or 4.0, would be User Ranks...
When a user (Citizen) Right clicks a citizens text/avatar or contact list
name, they click "View Rank"... It will then display their Rank in terms of
how much they are online.
Like PHP-Forums do this...

Something to think about.

EG:

I have clicked "User Rank" on [Customs Aide]...

It has displayed a smallish box, showing 3 icons, one on the left "Low" one
in the middle "Regular" and one on the Right "Extreme"...
Customs Aide, being on 24/7, is ranked "Extreme...

It would also be kewl to display a "Most visited world" ... users may make
ALL their ranks non-viewable for privacy if they want..

Your ranking idea reminds me of the different ranks or titles people get
when they post to forums (for example, they start as "Newbie" and after
X amt of posts they are now a "Regular" or something, and the title
keeps changing the more posts they make).

While I don't think a ranking idea is bad, you need to think about
*what* criteria to rank to be fair. If you want to rank online time,
that's one thing. But what about ranking the number of days you first
became a cit? Or the amount of worlds you've been to? Or something else.

Cool Idea!

This would add an element of politics to AW that I always thought
was lacking.

absolutly not, my time online is my business, as such is my activity of that
time online... If someone wants to know how much I am online, they can
telegram and ask me, then telegram everyone else, ask them, and compare.

Not to mention this being REDICULOUSLY long winded to keep updated (ever
tried sorting 400,000 records into order?) SQL would still take a while...
not to mention zero point to it.

We are not here to compete against eachother.

If it was implemented maybe have different ratings for different subjects.

-Number of words/lines/letters typed
-Number of worlds visited/number of time spent in different worlds
-Number of time spent in a particular world
-number of objects built
-number of objects deleted

things like that and have a bar with a gradient. or number or % or something

You'd always want an option to hide this, in which case it would say X :-)

or also have a world owner bar or citizen approval bar, if enough cits right
click them and say approve or something their bar would go up :-)

This is no competition, and neither a popularity contest.

Just showing how rediculous it would be to do that on AW :)

Not to mention... its still an invasion of a persons ability to decide what
they do, without the entire universe being able to see where they have
been.... Im sure enzo dosent want us all knowing how much time he spends in
gorheart.

you could have stuff like "objects created" and maybe even a special thing
like "cy awards won" Hey, maybe even a citizen description that the
citizen can write for him/herself

AW doesn't have 400,000 ACTIVE users :P I doubt it even has 40,000

Ok, sorry for being negitive, but all i can imagine out of this is people
judging people by it. There is basicly no other reason, and so what if they
dont build that much, or dont chat that much, theres no need what soever for
somthing like this, and it would just clog up the uniserver, and i still see
these things as pointless even in php forums.
