Console Messages are getting way out of hand! there are people already using
them to make other people look bad, AW should have a "Conmsg" Checker that
can check what citizen number sent the Console Message or if it was a
Console Message, it would open a box full of all console messages with
different VRT Time dates for when they were sent, who sent them (Cit #) and
what they said

As long as the browser does not display the console message's sender, this change is acceptable (and I actually agree). Changing them to show their source in the Chat History would break a lot of existing bots.

Some way of tracking the source is desirable.

It is possible to right-click a console message if it is in the format "AnExistingName:\tText", where '\t' represents a tab (Chr(9)).

[View Quote] Yes, this should be a browser option though... as then you'd be able to
tell if a bot is doing the work or if a citizen is _actually_ saying
that. With console messages, it's always iffy to trust a bot for that,
in a world you don't know that is.

The browser seems to be unable to distinguish between a real chat line and a 'fake' one from a console message. When it's able to make that difference, what you suggested would be a good idea.

Or a "highlight console as red" setting so they are red.

On 3.3 or 3.4? (I've not tried on 3.4) but browser is unable to
distinguish on 3.3 for sure.

I tested with 3.4 before posting.

It makes sense, if you think about it. Storing actual information about who each line of chat text in the chat history window came from would be excessive. I would guess that if someone changes their name after saying something, and then someone else changes to the nname that is left no longer in use, that right clicking on that chat text would identify it as belonging to the person who had acquired the name after the line of text was typed and sent.

only people with a CT ppw can send console messages... so, if you are the
owner of a world, that's how you control it :-)
