During the speech (if there was ever one) by President Enzo at AW Festival
2004, he perhaps can talk about his vision of what AW should be and have in
next 10 years. The vision of next 10 years would be good to have. It's
almost like 10-year plan by a government (just comparing). However, it
doesn't have to be specific about what should be added or something like
that but more general about future. Perhaps vision will have several themes?
Worldbuilders, townbuilders, bot developers, gamers, builders (home,
business, etc not towns or worlds), and other major interest groups will
definitely be interested in President's vision for next 10 years. What do
you say we hear your vision at the Active Worlds' 10th birthday celebration,
Mr. President?

Only if they release the source code, and uniserver files and such to
the public when or if they go under.

Yeah well if the software was run by a company with brains then i could see
it lasting, but its not so its going down the plug. Not to mention the
community has atleast halfed in the last 2 years. This was mainly because of
pathetic over pricing for a chat room with a few flash graphics slapped on
top. Many people who have done direct business with AW have said they are
unprofessional, rude, have no clue what they are doing and just generally
idiots.

Humm not a bad idea, could help them but na it's ok they can topple them

Nice idea, Mr. President--- is it okay to call you Mr. President? I mean,
you're technically the President of Active Worlds.... well, not same as
Saddam but.... ;-D

because, em, even if the company goes broke, and files for bankrupcy, or
whatever, the software itself, will still have copies which exist on peoples
computers, so it will still be around. So, all someone would need would be a
cracked uni server to get thier own, non- updated activeworlds running :)

But even with bankruptry, I would bet the all rights to software such as
uniserver, browser, etc. and other assets would be sold to the highest
bidder. But regardless, I doubts the company would get bankrupt anyway. It
just take a patience for Active Worlds to get better.

Besides, next version of Active Worlds is starting to sound good. But so far
I haven't successfuly "discovers" the actual help pages for AW 4.0 so
unfortunately we will have to wait to see what is offered in next version
for us and we still don't know if it is 4.0 although our sources strongly
suggests the 4.0 as next version.

Also I've discovered that after entering
http://www.activeworlds.com/help/aw40/aw40.html in the address returns error
but if you types the part of that previously visited address, it will
automatically complete the address (normally if you get a "page doesn't
exist" error, it won't do that but this is an exception, oddly enough) so
that suggests the that 4.0 is possibly the next version.

I've already tried http://www.activeworlds.com/help/aw40/ and it returns
directory denied error which, in effect, strengthen my suspicons that 4.0 is
the next version.

I've also tried http://www.activeworlds.com/help/aw40/beta.html but it
failed to do what any of above urls did, which suggests that it is still in
alpha testing stages. However, I can't confirm all of this so don't take it
as confirmed information.

lol, they make every future release of AW sound good, usually don't have
half the cool stuff though.
Well, i doubt AW would end up bankrupt soon, but sooner or later, it will
crash. Almost everything always does.

I tend to look at it more optimistically.....AW hasn't even started yet. and IMO it's good that they have not cause they are still working on the platform for which that success must survive.......start-ups are a bitch.....timing is everything.
