Many people are complaining that $6.95 per month is too much to pay for AW.
How much do you think is fair to pay for a citizenship?

You've already tried this before; it didn't work then, and it's not working now.

$5 a month would be very nice indeed.. its equal, and fits in with adding up
etc....... eg: 3 months = $15 ... square prices.....

And while your at it you need to ask.....what is a fair price for AWI to pay for:

Lease on office space.
Payroll for management, programmers, support people.
Hardware maintenance/updating on servers and in-house PC's.
Internet connection fees.
Legal fees.

I'm sure many people at AWI complain all the time about lack of funds to do projects they would like to do.
Try running a technology company this day in age...;)

my 2 cents

I don't usually reply to The Lady's posts, but I actually think that
$6.95 per month is pretty darn cheap compared to other VR programs. Last
I checked, There and A Tale in the Desert as well as Second Life. Most
people spend more than $6.95 a month for coffee alone, going to movies,
and many other things.

Heh... it's freakin $7.50 (or maybe even $7.75 now) to get into the
movie theater where I live... And I probably do that twice a month.

So, good point Builderz, $6.95 really isn't all that much. Though, a
nice number like $5 would probably be better.

Just look at MMORPGs... they all used to be $9.95/mo., but a lot have raised
prices to $12.95/mo. now :)

The newer ones will even charge more than that!

lol, it is $9.00 here in L.A., and $7.00 is for discount time. i guess
thats becuase it is the movie capital of the world.. well... wouldnt
that make it cost less? i mean if they make it right here, why would i
have to pay more? well i guess thats L.A., LOL

Actually you don't know what most people pay per month for anything. You
can only guess based on your own spending preferences and income level. I
don't drink coffee and I haven't been to a movie in 15 or 20 years . I know
of a number of people in here past and present that have a hard time
justifying paying $70 a year for AW. Maybe it is worth that but that
doesn't mean everyone can afford it any more than everyone can afford to get
rich in the stock market while the poor get poorer.
Just like I don't sell models to try and get rich, I need the additional
income (1) to help pay for AW and (2) to help pay bills. There are others
in AW in the same boat and some who have left who liked it here but just
can't afford it and have gone to CNW or DLP.

Exactly, Paul. : / I'm on a very limited income. I buy food and have a
couple of monthly bills I pay.
I can't afford to renew in February at the yearly rate. I don't have that
much extra cash per month anymore.
So should I pay monthly now? It galls me to have to pay extra for anything,
when I know a cheaper option (yearly) is available.
I've heard a lot of ppl from AW are going over to there.com *sigh* My
puter won't support that site. I only have a Pentium II.
Go to DLP? Hardly anybody goes there. What's the point of a chat room when
there's nobody to chat with?
Same with CNW, although they do have a few more ppl there, and they are very
friendly, too.

So I guess I stay with AW at the monthly rate. I just hope things here
improve.

No, I can't say that I'm a mind reader and I don't know what everyone
spends or doesn't spend each month. I was just trying to make a
generalization. If you or someone else can't afford $6.95 per month (or
the yearly AW citizen fee), then that's that, plain and simple. You can
either try and win a cit extension at a contest like Bingo, ask for some
money to borrow, or let your cit expire and use the money for something
else.

I was just trying to point out that "a lot" of people spend *much more*
than $6.95 per month for other things that they do in their lives and
that in my opinion, the AW citizenship fee is less expensive than other
VR programs out there. I know that some children get an allowance of
more than $6.95 per week, while on the other hand, I know a person or
two who can't even afford to put food on the table.

I never said everyone could afford it, but I'd like to point out that
the exchange rate in certain countries makes it easier to afford in some
places than others. But again, that only matters to certain people.

Personally, I don't drink coffee either and haven't been to the movies
in months. I also never mentioned anything about the stock market. If
you want some interesting opinions of the stock market and why "the poor
get poorer," I invite you to check out http://www.richdad.com.

I don't sell hosting to become rich, either, Paul. In fact, I've lost a
great deal of my customers/income due to lots of users leaving AW, AW
price increases, or users not renewing their world due to cost or "boredom."

If you do want another place to chat you can go to Belladora's new Galaxy
CASTLES. You can go in for free as a Tourist or if you want to be a cit
there you can pay the 19.95/year. The number of people online varies a lot
but she has over 100 members now and it's only been open a few months. At
times you may not find anyone in there or you may find 3 or 8 or 10 or more.
Most are all her old Castles friends from when she had her worlds Castles
here in AW and you will find everyone there nice. You can download her
browser at www.belladora.com .
