I don't like to do this, but I can't stand seeing AWians eat each other
alive, much less in what used to be a CIVILIZED discussion group.

First of all, I'd like to make the assertion that you are ALL immature and
know NOTHING of the way the world works. Look up innocence in a dictionary,
you are all the essense of the word. What is love? What does it feel like?
How are you supposed to conduct yourselves in public? How are you supposed
to act when a friend or colleague makes a blindingly obvious mistake? How do
you respond to an insult? How many of you have ever made a "Your mom"
comment? How do you MORALLY promote a buisiness? I want you ALL to think
LONG and HARD about all of this. NONE of you know all the answers, nor do I.
So stop acting like you do.

Second, how many of you twits (Eep's terminology is only fitting) understand
a single ounce of AWC's financial situation? How many of you know exactly
WHY they raised prices? How many of you think AWC is profitable? How many of
you would enjoy working there? How many of you try to make their buisiness
decisions for them? I know the answer to the last one, most of you.

Third, what do you not understand about Internet security? Really, any file
on any machine connected in any way to the internet is fair game. I don't
give a shit about firewalls, proxies, monitors, gateways and various other
security systems. ANYTHING on your computer can be accessed ANYWHERE at ANY
time. This has been and always will be the case on the internet, because if
you have somthing that somebody wants, they will get it. This is why the
computer gods invented the removable storage device. What do you not
understand about the concept of PUBLIC? AWC's bot enters your world because
it is open to the PUBLIC. This INCLUDES AWC. You have no say over who enters
your public world, because it is PUBLIC. PUBLIC is not the same as PRIVATE.
I have no say over who uses my PUBLIC webserver. I do, on the other hand,
have plenty of control over who enters my BEDROOM. Don't like people finding
out what goes on in a PUBLIC place? Mark it PRIVATE!

Apparently the server wants to use my girlfriend's login name even though I
changed it. My name is Anthony Bathgate, my AW name is Wing.. (note the two
periods) and my citnum is 305003.

Well.. again this is the same ignorance that bodhitah played onto. The fact
that everyone but themselves is immature. Watch out, this is bound to have
more snap backs. But I have a question, if you don't know that answers to
those questions below, does that make you innocent and immature as well?

Those are some pretty big questions, and I doubt that there's one single
answer to all of them. I would say that love is a different concept to
everyone, but maybe not.

What does love feel like? Hrm... my mother tells me that there's no greater
love than that for your child, so I don't know.

How do you conduct yourself in public? A pretty old rule is to treat others
the way you would want to be treated. Everyone forgets that rule at some
point or another - some moreso than others :)

When a friend makes a mistake, I would either point is out jokingly or tell
them in private. IE: a few friends of mine and I have a competition going on
of who can correct the other's spelling the most times. Probably a product
of boredom.

How do you respond to an insult? That has a personal answer, too. Ideally
one could just ignore it, but it's pretty darn hard sometimes. I didn't
respond very well to Bodhitah's posts, which I regret, but that kind of an
insult makes me too angry to think clearly. That's a problem with a lot of
people, but it could be rectified by admitting the mistake (at least to
yourself).

I've never made a 'your mom' comment that I can remember, because I don't
think they make much sense (and what's the point of insulting some poor
faceless mom?). It usually seems like a last-resort insult when somebody
can't think of a 'good' one.

How do you morally promote a business? Hrm. Well, avoid: corporate
espionage, murder, lies, slander, genocide, and other such things :)

>Second, how many of you twits (Eep's terminology is only fitting)
understand
>a single ounce of AWC's financial situation? How many of you know exactly

I don't know about their financial situation. I would probably enjoy working
there :)

When they raised the prices I was suprised, but I tried to be civil about
it. I did call AWC HQ once and talk to one of the staff, just to get some
information. I was polite about it - no sense in attacking an innocent
staffer. I don't even remember what they said, but I remember that they were
sincere in the statement that they didn't really want to have to force any
users off of AW. Seriously, I don't think that they would raise prices just
to be evil to us. AWC's staff is comprised of good people. Yes, they've made
some business mistakes, but so has every other business.

The whole spiderbot ordeal was silly. I agree that AWC should've given us a
tad bit of warning so that we don't have a heart attack when some suspicious
looking bot pops into our world, but no harm was done and MrGrimm was kind
enough to give an explanation. It was just a beta run, anyway. I don't
believe that AWC wants to go around and horde our secretive world
information on a public website just to spite us.

Alright, I'm out of breath now. Thanks for reading my longwinded post :)

Well I see you are treating this with much maturity, wining about it,
expecting us to obey your every wish.

Unfortunately, a topic about this won't help things, it will just promote
them.
