We can now get back to our regularly scheduled flames.
Eep, buddy, just tone it down a little and maybe try personal emails to get your questions answered. I don't know if you used that approach but you see what newsgroup banter spawned. Dunno if the "community" will be as tolerant the next time if another one of these events takes place. I'd really hate to see you get the boot from here again. Factor, I admire and respect you for what you brought to the table. Allowing the community to decide if one of our own needs to be removed is a HUGE step in the right direction. I applaud you for this. Take a few days off to let things simmer down a bit and then decide if you want to leave the groups instead of making that choice now. If you do decide to leave, well, I will understand completely but I believe your presence will be greatly missed. Groupies, I compliment you all for your participation even if it was to post some non-participation message. I think today we went from a community to a Community and it makes me just a little more proud to call AW my home in cyberspace. Anybody for a rousing game of go fish? Rehabber now that this event is over...Feb 10, 2001, 1:22am
sorry I didn't make it clear.. I used a small c in the first reference
to our community refering to how we were and a capital C in the second reference to our community refering to how we have grown and hopefully matured in these last few days... I will make my posts more clear in the future... [View Quote] Homosexuals being ejected from AWLD worlds...Feb 11, 2001, 3:12am
I have to agree with the posts regarding keeping your sexual preferences
to yourself and not discussing it at worlds where they have restrictions. I'm not gay but I am a witch and if I go to the Gate and start discussing religion I will get ejected. I really hate that but unless I buy the company there is nothing I can do about it. The big three NO-NO's to talk about at the Gate or any of the restricted worlds are race, religion and sexual preference Like it or not, those are the rules. On my worlds you can pretty much talk about what you want but I will eject for racial insults, sexual preference insults, religious insults or open cybering. Other than that the discussions are pretty much free to progress as they will. Heck, I was at the Gate once when one of the gatekeepers threatened to eject every citizen just for being citizens at the Gate saying that the Gate was just for newbie tourists. Gatekeepers, Peacekeepers.. I can name just a handful of decent ones who actually try to follow the guidelines of what they represent, the rest are basically sad individuals that have probably made nothing out of themselves in real life so they assert what power they are given to make themselves look big here. My suggestion about being ejected from the Gate for talking about being gay is to take it as a lesson learned, don't do it again unless you enjoy being ejected and find a world where you are accepted and go about your business. Not all the AW citizens are homophobic... Rehabber [View Quote] Homosexuals being ejected from AWLD worlds...Feb 11, 2001, 6:38pm
Homosexuals being ejected from AWLD worlds...Feb 11, 2001, 8:06pm
umm, there are quite a few of us in AW and no I don't ride a broom
around in AW or anyplace else. None of my objects have anything to do with being a witch. If you purchased any of my objects and feel like maybe they have some sort of spell on them invading your brain and making you do things you really do not want to do, well, just delete them and I'm sure everything will be back to normal with you. hahaha geeze, your eyes must be about a half an inch apart with such a narrow mind behind them.... btw, I'm going to a Full Moon Ritual tonight in all my ritual attire (robe, athame, etc) and if you want, I'll look in on you and make sure you are safe... I wouldn't want any thing bad to happen to you... [View Quote] Homosexuals being ejected from AWLD worlds...Feb 11, 2001, 9:27pm
not a problem, if it was a joke then it was on me for not seeing it..
hehehe.. there are many resources out there on the internet that will give you a greater insight to what witches are and what witches are not. May I suggest the Witches' Voice as a starting place.. http://www.witchvox.com [View Quote] FYI Weekend discrimination issue.Feb 13, 2001, 12:48am

Wing... Moff is hardly a newbie. He may have not been a part of the
newsgroups but he's been a citizen for several years. [View Quote] Free Objects 4 you :o)Mar 27, 2001, 12:11am
woooo weeee! boy you are gonna be swamped with requests, and after that they
turn into demands, and then after you can't keep up with the demand they start flaming you and telling everyone how much of a slacker you are. I'd think twice before offering to make stuff for free here on the newsgroup. maybe just keep it between your friends or put up a website and make the stuff YOU want to see and let that go for free. just a suggestion.. Rehabber (aw/rwx modeler for nearly 4 years *credit goes to Eep's site for his explanations of modeling terms, Henrik's site for explanations of UV values and Grover's site for his explanations on avatar creation - without these guys and their selfless desire to share information about the program we all love so much, AW would be a pretty boring place) [View Quote] > Hey, after I posted my martini object (Which only took around 30 mins) I got > a lot of reponse in the form of e-mail and telegrams. Hi boys and girls,
I'm needing a world leader to take over the day to day responsibilities running one of my worlds. The world is Duhari. Duhari has a desert theme with very minimal construction on it. It is a classic PS16 size world (500x500 meters, 16 users) and its hosted 24/7, plus it has its own object path on my server. I'm developing a new role playing environment which includes my three worlds, Cyberia, Duhari and Tweeal. The potential world leader for Duhari should be familar with world operations, have knowledge of using an FTP program, understand object path structure, and preference will be given to those that have rwx modeling experience (objects, avatars, texturing). Have your references ready. Go to this website: http://kaltana.com and read about the Kaltana Federation for the story behind the role playing environment. Email me at rehabber at swbell.net for consideration in this opportunity or if more information is needed. Rehabber Rumors are they real or not???????????????May 17, 2001, 10:17pm

> uh...why do you post this in the **ACTIVEWORLDS** Community NG?????
hmmm.. is this really exclusively an Activeworlds newsgroup? I've been around for quite a long time, posted alot of things, read alot of things that were mostly not worth reading, but I've always thought that this newsgroup and the others offered up by AW were more for this technology instead of a specific universe. Alot of universes got started by using this medium for informing the masses that something familar yet new was available. Most have eventually developed their own newsgroups for their own specific uses but there is only one Activeworlds no matter what the name a perticular universe goes by. Outerworlds is Activeworlds, Dreamland Park is Activeworlds, City4All is Activeworlds, Vectorscape is Activeworlds. Yes it may not be the same "community" but I've met many of the same people in all of those other universes that frequent the Activeworlds universe, and most of them use the same name across the Active Universes. Spamming is just plain stupid and disrespectful of others that actually come here hoping to extract something useful out of these newsgroups, no matter what world situated in what universe you hail from. Personally I think the Activeworlds technology and ALL its users make up the AW community so take off those blinders and see the horizon beyond where you thought it was. World for leaseMay 23, 2001, 12:28pm
I have a 500x500 meter world that is hosted 24/7 and has its own object
path on my server for lease. Contact me by email for prices if you are interested. No tourist allowed?May 31, 2001, 12:38am
Tourists used to be able to post here... actually a few years back,
anyone was able to post here. I like the citizen only rule and yes it has definately cut down on the spamming. Flame wars are a different matter hehehe. [View Quote] Why is there so much hate here?Jun 3, 2001, 1:44pm
It didn't used to be this way Budweiser. A few years back this was a
nice place where folks posted happenings and events across AW. A place where people could come and extract real and useful information. Flame wars were pretty minor and usually the contestants were able to settle their differences in a reasonable manner. I have no idea how or why the newsgroups have taken such negative feel to it other than there are a whole host of new faces in here now. Its a shame, a real shame... thank goodness Eep is still here doing his best to keep things on topic and stragically changing the subject line from time to time keeping the "mindless twits" out of step. Maybe things will eventually go back to how they used to.. we can only hope. [View Quote] Why is there so much hate here?Jun 3, 2001, 4:05pm
Sure icey, thank goodness... you might not agree with Eep's tactics but
you have to admit he does much better than most in trying to keep this newsgroup on topic and rarely gets any thanks for doing it. [View Quote] Why is there so much hate here?Jun 3, 2001, 5:30pm
ahhh, thats the great thing about opinions... they vary so much and
everyone had a different one. I still love ya even if you don't agree with me.. hehehe [View Quote] MilkJun 5, 2001, 2:59am
