How do you change .max files to the .3ds exstension? I have 3D Studio max
4.0 and have meshs that were saved as .max files the SAVE option does not
display .3ds as one of the save format options which would allow me to save
it in a different format.
Also for those how make models for AW using Discreet's 3D Studio Max, isn't
the rendered and saved files saved as .3ds format before converting to .rwx
or is it .max? I was under the impression .max files are scenes only and
..3ds are models.
Can anyone who uses or has used 3D Studio max explain to me how to use .max
meshs as models for AW?

Hi I made an object using truespace, I used a cylinder booleaned subtracted
the top to make it so the tower top has bricks seperated by a spwace all
around it. then textured it and added cylander UV mapping.
Then converted it using accutrans to RWX format, it looked fine in accutrans
.. Once the object was on the object server and I created the model in a
world and I got this error which makes no sense, as none if this jibberish
apears in the RWX file.

I looked closely at each line and I seen nothing that matches any of those
characters and the model does not load in AW at all, I tried uploading it as
towertest0003.cob and it still did not load.
Anyone out there have any ideas why I am getting this error?

I am looking for someone to help organize, maintain and add new objects to
our object yards.
(Your duties will be)
Adding new objects to the yards from a list we provide to you.
Organizing objects into catagories.
Making sure the layout is neat and organized. (Objects properly spaced
apart)
Making sure no two objects with high polygons are next to each other.
(causing lag)
(Requirements)
Some knowlege about frame-rates and how objects affect it.
Good organizing skills.
(My preferences)
I prefere someone who is going to stick to the job and not run off half-way
thru it or not finish at all, if you do not have the time to spare do not
apply!
I prefer an adult with a good reputation in AW, as you will be given rights
in our worlds which could affect its security.
Those who apply will be interviewed, screened and references you provide,
will be checked thoroughly!
You will be asked to provide personal info about yourself, including real
name, home address, city, State (Province), country, telephone number and
email address. If your a sincere (trusted) person this should not be
objectionable to you.
The cit we porvide you with (If you already have a cit) can be loaned out to
anyone of your choice and will remain active (as our agreement) as long you
continue to work for our path staff.

It is official, after two years and 6 months in the AW universe, A!!CT World
will offically expire on December 16th 2003. Along with A!!CT World,
MrBruce's cit along with mine (A1CT Builder), Mayor Taz and Starfleet's will
expire.
So I am offically saying good bye to everyone on behalf of A!!CT World and
MrBruce.
Below is a link to MrBruce's last world announcement, MrBruce feels A!!CT
World no longer has a place in the AW universe and feels the community has
wanted it to close anyway. His last statement to me was "Why should I spend
anymore money on a program that does not recognize what good the world has
done for the community, and allows other to badger and attack us everytime
we announce an event?. The time has come to go where my money and efforts
are appreciated".
On A!!CT's last day, the community will be giving all open rights in A!!CT
so the community can delete and destroy the world before it expires.

Besides being allowed by AWI to be slanddered, attacked and ridiculed in
these news forums.
AWI delibrately failing to announce A!!CT world events in its newsletters.
Like the Turkey Hunt planned for November 15th Kimdelee submitted!
Mountain Myst threatening MrBruce with closing all his worlds and his
disabling his citizenship for posting an email he thought was authentic
proof AW's arch enemey matt was incarcerated and no longer a threat to AW's
citizens.
AWI delibrately deleting all A!!CT 'world of the month' votes for November.
Besides that the guy got nothing!
I see it myself, just a certain few get all the public recognition around
here and are protected against attacks in this forum.
And for all this the guy spends upwards of over $5000.00 a year to AWI?
I told him if he ever comes back to AW, go to Alpha World and leech off the
free land like everyone else here who is notorious, make your community
there and stop worrying about bringing new comers to AWI, like he did with
A!!CT. He wasted his time and money as I see it and no one cares anyways, so
why should he put anymore into it?
So this time you are wrong and some time this week, all the citizenships
charged to MrBruce monthly (all 25 of them) will get a notice that their
citizenships will expire if they fail to pick up the tab, because MrBruce
refuses to pay for them anymore and I do not blame him!

Here is a little CTV history and about its founder known as Pineriver.
CTV is ran by Pineriver, not known to many, Pineriver started out in AW as a
tourist and made A!!CT his home. As I have heard Pineriver applied for one
of MrBruce's cit loans so he could build and try out AW without fear his
builds will be deleted.
Pineriver started out in AW as A1CTTourist5 a citizenship that was loaned
out on a temp basis from MrBruce.
As it turned out, MrBruce took a liking to Pineriver's artistic abilities,
his abilities do voice CTV radio broadcasts with news related to AW. Then
MrBruce was even more inspired by him, when Pineriver made his first WMP
Activeworlds advertisement. It was a hit!!
Pineriver also made several other videos as well.
But because of Pineriver's talent. MrBruce agreed to allow him to continue
using the citizenship because of the great benefit he was to AWTeen and
Activeworlds.Inc as well as to A!!CT World.
The sad part is not only will A!!CT and MrBruce be gone, so will all the
citizenships billed to him each month and from seeing billing records here
so will Twik, Pineriver and among those is Robbie's citizenship, along with
23 other citizenships and then eventually all nine worlds will be gone.
Trust me, MrBruce has emailed rick at activeworlds.com 2 weeks ago to work
something out, MrBruce does care about all the hard work people have put
into his world, but he has yet to hear even a reply that his concerns are
their concerns at AWI.

This is my last post about this issue.
A!!CT is privately owned, its owned by me. A!!CT is unlike most private
worlds in AW which are merely a display of the world owners builds and
creations.
A!!CT is open to all, tourists included, we do not alienate anyone.Some
worlds hate new comers so bad they do not want tourists in their worlds!
A!!CT's entire land out side of 20 N E S W is open to the public for
building.
A!!CT allows all building commands, create move and rotate are included.
We treat all people fairly, we do not ban people just because we do not like
them or for 'personal' reasons!!
We have water, we have clouds, we have a moon and a sun that travels across
the sky every 24 hours, they rise and set. We have night and day and weather
conditions.
We allow tourists and citizens alike to edit A!!CT's terrain.
We allow public bots and we allow users here to hold any events they want
and will even include them in our world announcements.
Our object path has over 201,756 models, 265,975 textures. We make alot of
our own models and add over 500 to 1000 new ones a month, not retextured
versions of the same thing over and over again!!
A!!CT's outer boundries have oceans and beaches.
All present AW 3.4 features are successfully enabled in A!!CT.
We host many bot games and some are action related games none of you have
the talent to reproduce, such as our photon /phaser shooting game that works
anywhere in A!!CT.
We have an accurate updated bot download and info center.
We have arcade games that actually work with over 300 games.
We have tourist friendly building schools that teach tourists proper
building ediqutte and about being polite when visiting new worlds that allow
them access.
We treat new comers with respect and like it or not A!!CT is proud to
annouce to date we have encouraged 164 citizens to register as citizens
since 2001!
A few that honestly could not afford citizenships I have purchased them one
so as to lessen the amount freeloaders a bit and a few have passed the cits
back to me once they could afford their own.
We have worked with many who came to AW not knowing what this was all about
and who happened to venture into our world.
A!!CT and all its associated worlds are non-profit worlds, we make nothing
off this stuff to help renew it with.
Our only bad points are we are subject to an outragious renewal fee and and
limited to a world size of 130 and user limit of 25.
For a world of this type, A!!CT is within the top 5 on the worlds list if
not 1st or 3rd.
A!!CT world has been one of the few sucessful worlds, its downfall is it
will expire on December 16th 2003 at 8:27 PM EST.
You people take a breath, be fair and think sensibly, why let a successful
thing die, while flops are allowed to survive?

Ya know it kind of aggravates me that you all pushed MrBruce out of AW
because all his posts spam his now closed A!!CT world in the Newgroups.
I seem a post here by Jetta Lewis entitled "Merry Christmas"
I tried to doubt my better judgement, but sure enough all it was was a spam
add to advertise her Privately owned America world.
I think you all people need a reality check here, no where did I see one
post against that post which was nothing but propaganda advertising for
America world which as been allowed over and over again!
Sorry Jetta, but what is good for the goose is good for the ganda and it's
nothing personal towards you!

Ok sorry guess I was so upset I went over board by saying "you all" but I
used that in place of names and figured you could all fugure out who or who
deserves the title "you all"
MrBrucewas not all about I do so you give to me, he posted world events in
the NGs like everyone else all during the time A!!CT still had many months
left.
Unless your cache has been totally cleared, read back on those posts which
asked for nothing.
They were just like everyone elses post about an event or world related
event.
Sorry but all I ever seen was attacks against him saying this is not AW
World related stuff, take your A!!CT crap and spam elsewhere!!!
Yet I see events to other worlds posted it every week and I read all the
replies, I never see one bad word said to other world owners, like i seen
towards MrBruce.
Was this right? And why was every post he made unrelated to begging for
something treated in this manner?
Look thru out this news group, how many posts do you see related to a
citizen advertising their world or its events?
Maybe my post was out of line, but I'm a little upset here that certain
people here were allowed to attack the guy no matter what he posted and no
one stood up for him, but instead egged the flamers on more by agreeing with
them!
When I see people saying "MrBruce deserves what he gets thrown at him from
these flamers" It really shows me what type of community AW has become.
True as I see it alot of those were jealious world owners who were envious
of A!!CT's success as being populated 98% of the time.
I bring America world to light here, because a few who are moderators in
America world have been quick to post against any posts MrBruce made
regardless of its content.
Put yourself in his place, how would you have reacted if it was you?
Leave AW? Thats exactly what MrBruce did.

Codeworrior my post my have been out of line as I said, but some of the
things you listed here such as MrBruce jumped at the opertunity to spam his
world under a post related to another world.
I seen Andras post regarding the present hunt, he has a website there listed
with all the world names on it.
Why did America world Mod Ciena havs to post below it saying America world
is in the hunt too, we have such and such areas open for hunting blah blah
blah?
I'm posting this as an admission of hurt for someone who tried to do
something good and was allowed to be bashed by other world owners and their
mods!
This is not about living together in harmony, this is about my world is
better than your world so there!
I do not believe this ws the case with MrBruce, as I have known him for over
a year and chatted with him out side of AW before I came here.
Lastly, he tried to tell you all that someone knew is password thru use of a
trojan secertly hidden on a bot file he archived on his hard drive as a
backup for the bot center.
Just knowing his password allowed someone to post hateful capitalized posts
saying he hated you all and AW sucks and such.
He tried to tell you all it was not him, but no one listend.
He usually stayed logged in 100% of the time so they were not able to log in
and still his cit. So instead, they used the NGs hoping to start a new group
of MrBruce haters.
Well good for them they succeeded! And that is why they do it to others time
and time again because it works.
I may sound like I'm starting something here, but as I said, I'm rather a
little hurt and if this is wrong and I am way out of line here to be calling
the kettle black, I just wonder what rights people had to attack him. I seen
no reason for what he said any reason for anyone to be personally hurt by
him posting an event here.
So if guilty of doing to them what they did to him, then personally I am
sorry, as I said I have hurt feelings here.
