Well your welcome :D.

Now I've been having alot of fun with exploding the Player ;). Using TrueParticles and glow, similar to last sceen, you can see the beginning results so far I am getting. You can record the TrueParticle simulation using recorder and playback in real time. Problem comes in capturing this in real time from the player to video or making a .rcd file, well it is extemely large :o so no way I can link .rcd file.

So I capture frame by frame for the animation linked. As I experiment with this it is getting better and better :jumpy:. Once I am happy with it I will include a spaceship, background and have everything blow up :). Now if anyone wants scene file so as to experiment and just have some fun please let me know. The scene file with animation is rather small at the moment.

To Play:

Go to Player Preferences in stack and set background all the way to black otherwise this scene will just be one big glow :D.
Load record and hit play once if scene does not load
Hit Start on script in the Link Editor that says "Run this script to set scene". This sets bloom settings and camera view for good location. Move around though.

When I Start the script I get an error and then the animation stops.

trueblue,

Try this, looks like I didn't include everything in this recorded script.

- Load record

- select "Entry Point" object in LE (this is the camera)

- Make sure the stack is open, if the stack is closed, I think, will give you this error, since script will not be able to get to the Player preferences to configure the bloom settings. Default context should work, I am using a modified Dual monitor.

- Try running script again

- Select camera viewpoint in Player using top Player toolbar.

Let me know if this works. Thanks

That explosion looks cool too noko. :) Maybe we can convince Norm to up the file limits. :D I think with the muscle in TS7, scene files (especially with animation) are naturally going to be quite a bit larger. It would be awesome if the .zip files could be upwards of 20~30mb.

Here is scene and it is only 92KB, so far that is. Attached below.

Import scene into Library (stack libraries) under Scenes.

Open up Scene Editor so that you will be able to change TrueParticles while still in Player with the modeler close

Make sure Stack view is open and run the "Run Script" object, once again Player background has to be manually set all the way to black. This script just sets the bloom settings, you can do that manually as well.

Open up TrueParticles by selecting the TruParts object in LE and right clicking on the TrueParticle icon. As long as the TruParts object is selected and the Scene Editor is open you will have TrueParticle panel open while in Player and you should be able to tweak effects and run simulation in Player to fine tune.

As a note I copy the Scene Editor Icon and TrueParticle Icon to a tool bar that stays open when player is selected so that I don't have to go to modeler to open these tools since those buttons are in toolbars which close if the Player is open. (I do this by holding the ctrl key plus the Shift key and drag the duplicated buttons to another toolbar)

Once happy you can record simulation using recorder, note this is very memory intensive but speed is greatly increase (depending upon graphics card) over playing simulation with Scene Editor. If you run out of memory select another object other then the sphere, sphere is actually the worst object for memory usage. This is not yet refine but is coming along rather quickly.

Nope, starting the script causes the error. I am able to see Cone, Neon Lights animations okay though. I guess I am not seeing glow effect. Anyway very cool. Seeing your work helps me learn new and exciting ways to use trueSpace.

Rats, wonder why the script doesn't work for you??? here are the bloom settings I use to get the neon effect, experimenting is probably the best way, good luck and thanks for comments.

Maybe the problem is because the different settings for Player and LE is contex sensitive in the Stack View. I dunno?

You have no idea! [how right you are] :D

You think my sense of humour's strange now? Wait till you see some [though not all] of the stuff I have planned to try making as entries for the monthly comp.

This one was very interesting for me and very early on for me as a beta tester. Anyways what is shown, even in early beta, you can have a recording of a vertex animation interact with a changing enviroment. I added the boxes and cans after loading the recording and turned on physics. So in essence this is a real time physics simulation where I could add any object for Caliman to interact with. In anycase the speed has greatly increase in this type of situation to the now released point, plus recording with Camtasia also caused most of the jerkiness in this recording.

oh, thank you for your patience and help with bones! Plus all the Fun as well! :D

I like that Cali Man Animation. Good stuff! :)

I made a 3d recording of my campfire scene here. It's just the camera rotating around the camp. It is a large file, again. I just can't seem to make small files, lol. On my machine the camera has a slight stutter when everything is animated. With the fire shut off the camera smooths out. If I undertand it correctly, this may run better with Trueplay though.

Campfire Recording (http://home.comcast.net/~keserasera/Campfire.rcd) (7.42mb)

Looks pretty good I think with just a touch of bloom and glow :)

I was able to interact with your scene, Quite cozy fire after I amplified it up in the LE. It is cold out here in shared cyber spaces. :)
Thanks again and Cheers

Here we have the first Master level 3D recording. I was watching intently for 19 minutes and was not bored a bit. I called my wife to watch the end who was not as impressed initialy but when I replayed the beggining and stopped it after the head was finished and proceeded to change the head myself from that point on, she was blown away.

I would like to include this recording with truePlay if Dele agrees. As we just added him to Beta anyway I have no better incentive for him, but would love to see more 3D recordings from him.

Beta7.1 membership is still open to anyone who can create quality recording. In fact we plan to be giving away ownership of your own shared spaces for those of you who maybe be interested in having one to invite some of your friends for collaboration.

P.S. Right click record panel on this and get speed preferences in stack.

I get nothing when I right click on the record panel button.

Great job Dele! I liked your dog creation. My avatar likes it too!
Question 1) Are we suppose to also see the tools being used during playback?
Question 2) I am not sure how you seperated the ears from the head during their creation. I noticed a line or gap start to appear down the side of the head so I don't believe they were extruded. What tool did you use?

roman: Thanks, glad you liked it. :) And yes, of course you may include it if you would like to do so. :) I'm sure I'll make more 3d recordings, they're fun to make.

Ed: Sometimes it doesn't work for me too. I've found that if I hit the "Reset to default context" button and then try again, it usually works. hth

Steinie: Thanks. :) As far as I know the tools are not shown. As for the ears, I just extruded them and then used select edge loop to grab loops and pull them away from the head. I should probably also mention that there are a couple of times during playback when extra geometry just suddenly appears, in these cases I used add loop.

This response is for Calagari not Dele. What is the purpose of macro recording if the tools selected aren't shown. It would be great as a teaching tool. Or is there another way to do this and show the tools used? An Example would be your learning videos.
If the above is not the intent are there ways to edit this recording after it is finished?

I agree. I believe the developers are looking into ways to show which tool is being used. At present, it is not possible. Will be killer learning tool when this does happen.
