This stuff is amazing!

The camera bot can be an "eyebot" or an "overseer" and the long chain of arm segments can be a "centibot" or something like that.

Anyone else have good names?

Thank!

I think that would be interesting to finish all the words by "bots"

arms= armbot

cam= eyebot

spine= centibot (i like but i don't know what is it)

furnace/machine= ?

this world: Landbot (I like but i don't know if it means something else)? or simply BOT.

centibot, I got the idea from the insect below, it's a centipede so the many legs/limbs and segments made me think of that.

Landbot makes it sound like a gardener, or caretaker of the land. Bot land could work, but it isn't as interesting as the others.

As for the furnace, maybe "Innovative Oven"?
I'm not so sure what to call it.

lol - I called it an armbot because it is a bot with arms.

eyebot - cambot - spybot... all would work for the overseer.

eyebot and cambot denote more of a bot with vision, whereas spybot is more of a covert (secret) robot.

your furnace could be an ion generator or a carbon release device.

you would then have either ion maintenance bots or regulator bots.

the bots patrolling outside could be guardbots, wanderbots, secbots (security robots) or defense bots.

You could put in a master control processor and call it the MCP, but I think that was taken by the movie "TRON".

centibot is interesting (and good for french).

Is "ovenbot" for the furnace good ?

For the name of the world i keep BOT for now. I have no idea.

Thank Kena

I keep:

Armbot

Eyebot

Centibot

For the machine i would like something like BOT with 3 worlds beginning with B, O and T :)

And the title would: The B.O.T.

How about "hotbot" for the furnace?

Interresting because i search short words.

Armbot (arms)

Eyebot (cam)

Centibot (spine)

Hotbot (furnace)

The B.O.T. (title)

It becomes coherent, but I lack the ability to judge. :)

B.O.T. is for the scene and all objets (like a title). Bio is organic. No life here.

I also need a name for the machine near the energy (ex worm). Thank

I started the exit for the centibot. They may go down along the cliff.

stronger than Cliffhanger with Sylvester stallone! :D

Bailment Obvallation Terminal!

Which would obscurely mean:

(Delivery of goods in trust) (Walled in) (Place of action)

How about a Kilobot for the energy monitor, since energy is measured in Kilowatts?

B.O.T. Hmm, other that the O could be for "origin" since the centibot starts here, I've got nothing. "Omni" ... might be something there.

"Robot" comes from a Czech word meaning something like "forced labor".

Bailment Obvallation Terminal!

I try to understand with wikipedia or dictionary (I'm poor little French).

B (Delivery of goods in trust) : The transfer of possession of something to another person for some temporary purpose.

I understand for my project: The transfert of the arms to a temporary centibot.

O (Walled in) : surrounding with a wall or entrenchment.(vallare is the Latin word for "entrench")

I understand for my project : a description of the environment where the machine is.

T (Place of action) : no problem, same in french.

I find it interesting. I don't know what an english can understand about "Bailment Obvallation Terminal" but i like this worlds for B.O.T.

For the kilobot, i prefer megabot. :D

Finis: I like O for Origin. Depend of the other words with it.

I think also : Blast-furnace Overdrive Terminal.

It look very good for a french and less difficult to understand for strangers.Look like a title for movie. But is that it makes sense in English ?

Since i am in this forum i learn more english than 3d soft.

Thank Kena, finis and all other to help me.

I need to do now:

-details for the eyebot

-the exit for the centibot

-the cliff

-the brick with dirty up textures.

-smoke and residue from the machine

-ground around the building.....

The other step will be the actions of the centibots. this is where it becomes surreal! ideas will be more important than the images.

another detail for the cliff:

Lovely work marcel and no matter what you end up calling this piece of work, in my mind it will always be: Beautifully Orchestrated Technology. :D

Yeah, I agree. It's great watching you work Marcel! :jumpy:
Are you planning an animation for this? There's no way a single render could do justice to all the work you've put in.

Why not an animation? With sound and music.

The cliff begins to appear. From a distance it resembles a huge cube. Each cube is a brick to create another machine, without end. It is like a fractal. No, it is a delirium. I need to have a end because I have to sleep a little. :)

Wow, this is truly amazing!

I like the look of the cliff with that filler texture.

I am interested in what it will look like once you put on the real texture.

Keep up the good work, you're getting there!

Absolutely! :D Been a lot added since I was last here on Thursday too...

Marcel, it's looking amazing. Your lighting looks really nice (and I recall you said you weren't using HDRI so any tips on how you've got such a nice lighting set-up?

The building exterior looks great - I spotted the texture size as well as already mentioned but the overall impression is superb. All the discussion on names has been entertaining too, will have to start thinking up some more...

Really looking forward to seeing this complete - I'm inclined to agree that a single render wouldn't be enough to show off all your hard work - animation would be very cool...

Thanks for your replys. :)

Here is a first render for the cliff. I use a sky light + a small hdri without reflections (the use of a foreground effects shader - depth cue remove the reflexion on the glass). It is sometimes useful. You can see the exit for the centibot. It is like a sewer. Behind the building, the stone walls are the remains of an older building. I need to enhance details of this vestige. I guess the rocks as sculptures. The cliff look like a cube. Maybe it is not natural. From a civilisation of giants. May be the centibots are only insects ? that's how a story is born :D

Still amazing to watch this develop :) Just when you think it is about done, suddenly the perspective pans back and there is so much more.

I thought this was an indoor scene but now it has grown and is much more. Will we see both an indoor and an outdoor scene?

Thanks everybody!

Most people build a room and complete the room with objects. It is natural. I prefer to start with a central object (the hand) and then get away, make an arm and a machine room, a building, a world. often when I think of a story, the first vision that I have is the end. I wonder how to get there. It's my way. I was probably a crayfish in a previous life (walking backwards) :D

The next step will be to do an atmosphere around the cliff (still back up until the building is invisible). I will finally come to the ...beginning.

when I redid the way to the back (in the right direction ) I corrected the things I don't like. you follow me?

The square cliff isn't much of a problem either.

In the image below it's very angular, and completely natural.

love the whole thing. Except that there needs to be some way to get there. Unless there is a road leading from the opposite corner, you can tell it's a large cube formation. Maybe put some sort of broken bridge on the right side? or even a complete one if you want current visitors.
