............and here's mine
we converted a 400 year old ex blacksmith's workshop here in the depths of Cornwall, UK, to live in and space is limited - hence the 2 laptops.
I do hope there was not an accumulation of horse droppings that was embedded in the underlying turf.
Do you ever get the urge to 'muck' out your room or check your shoes for loose nails? |

Here's the living room and computer desk.
Yes the rotary phone works and I use it. Wall needs repair. Hmm, I should see what papers I put under the couch ... unpaid bills?
Don't forget the Show Me Your Desktop thread.

Wow Breech Block you have a Skydiver, awesome! I always wanted those as a kid but never found one, had to settle for an interceptor. Not sure I had the SHADO mobile, I think I may have - did the roof swivel over and show a rocket launcher? I also had a Captain Scarlet vehicle but I can't remember what that was called (I never was that much of a Captain Scarlet fan to be honest, though UFO I loved).
Must see if I can make my desk presentable enough to show here hehe. Though it has nothing that interesting on it as those collections of things on show.
Thanks!

I think Breech Block's room is the clear winner of the Geekiest room award! He'd be a contender for the tidiest room too! |

You think that room is bad...I know this guy who has so much star wars collectibles that he emptied the front room of his parents house when they were holiday (everything went into the hall so the front door couldn't be opened) and set it up - it took 3/4 of the front room and took photos of it all.
Most of the stuff has never ever been removed from the packing. My favourite wind-up line is 'That spock character is great in star wars' - he goes red when ever anyone says it to him and it's funnier when you get someone who doesn't know better to do it as well...
he he.
btw, never seen the photo - only heard the story. I work with him. |

Vickie, I'm totally jealous of your speakers. I had the pleasure once of hearing them - a chinese take-way along from where I lived in Aberdeen had a set and they are pretty awesome.
I'm still using an old set of Altec Lansings from about 13 years ago that are also pretty good. |

They are excellent - they look very cheap but the quality is, well, you're not going to really get a better 2.1 setup.
I'd have a set if I didn't need a new video card, more memory, pay the mortgage.... ;) |

I think it's the ADA-305, can't remember. Has a pro-logic decoder in the bass-box and retailed I think for close to 200 GBP when I got it - I managed to get it at cost, 1/2 the price. They have a USB interface so you could control the speakers with a control panel but it only ever worked in windows 98.
They are sweet but still, no comparison to the Harman Kardon speakers. |

Ah Denon, takes me back to when I had a decent stereo assembled out of separates. Denon amp, Dual turntable, Mission speakers, and err that was it :) It wasn't high end by audiophile standards, but good enough for me (and better than a pre-assembled everything in one system by a million miles). Served me well for 10 years or more, but that was a wee while ago now!

Havn't improved my "keep things tidy" skills since the last room post I did:

But this is how it looks now:

Time to get a better (and bigger) monitor again...
the adjustable hinged arm didn't last long and I now have a
box that keeps it from dropping to table-level  |

Sounds cool - my wife's old stereo had a load of Nad separates, but they're gradually biting the dust as no-one around here knows how to fix them (they wouldn't release the cicruit diagrams to retailers!). We've got a set of Mission speakers that a friend gave us as a wedding present - at the time he worked for the UK audio firm NXT, developing flat panel speakers, though he's sinced moved on. They sounded great but after being packed away for a while (when we moved house) they now don't sound right - seem to have lost all the bass. Not sure how to go about getting them fixed....
Strangely, I thought I'd posted my room on this thread, but went back though the pictures and realised I hadn't - and hadn't even been through the whole thread. Some great rooms for sure, very envious of all the musical gear. I'll try to get a picture of my room, but it's very difficult without a wide-angle lense due to the shape of the room... As it's so small, my musical gear is in a different room and won't be visible with the computers...;) |

Thought I'd posted this before, but couldnt seen it on revisiting this thread, so here is my room. Totally unexciting, rather like my black background in the show us your desktop :) This is minimalist, but cluttered, haha!
Oh and yes, that is Thursday Night Live! on screen, with this posted live during that meeting.

Yep its a famoose Caligari Cube. And it is indeed a post-it note pad. From the tS4 era. Looks too cool to actually use though, so I wont be posting many of those notes!
