It is indeed a Yamaha! But its a YPT. In the price range I was looking for, I could either get a dumb keyboard, or this Yamaha one. I had to have MIDI, used to be the ol "home keyboards" didnt have MIDI, but they do now. I could have gone for one with a USB interface, but wanted "old fashioned" MIDI as I know how it works better.

Plus points, I can dabble when away from the computer. Downsides, no pitch bend or aftertouch. At least I can add those later in the sequencer, though clearly not as expressive as having those to hand while playing.

The loose change is just a sign of arriving in from the great world outside and emptying out pockets and never getting around to tidying up as regularly as I should :)

The chair is about wore out, I hope it will last another year without disintegrating! Great chair, it was actually a cool birthday present, but with so many hours a day spent on the computer, it's had a hard life!

I didnt recognize those speakers either, though I took it to be some sort of fancy weird lamp (a modern equivalent to a laval lamp maybe).

Thanks!

Tom

I have been a long time user and lurker on the gameSpace forums, but having finally got hold of trueSpace 7.6 (Thanks!! :jumpy: ) I thought that I would join these forums and 'de-lurk'.

My desk looked far too tidy on the first photograph, so I threw some junk and papers onto it and used this shot instead. Hopefully it is now more in keeping with everyone else's. :D

I see the trend for miscellaneous musical instrumentation is still going strong.

@Khai - LOL - I see you have a Woody in your desk - I have one too - his name is Allan (as in Woody Allan).

Yip,

Non White, not sure what the color was called, years back.

The MIC is an AKG C3000B - Highly recommend for all sorts of recording. Vocals are real nice, a classic mic. Used it to record an album in 2001.

The STRAT on the right by the way is my working Guitar, Fender LoneStar Stratocaster Kitted with Seymour Duncan Pearly gates:

The builders are still putting the finishing touches on my new workspace in the basement, under the stairs.

I hope it's not too flashy! :-)

Well, taking a look in the others posts, I guess the mine is the most compact, but is efficient :D

The Desk was designed and builted by my self! There you can see my loved old sound boxes, my bluetooth headfone, my celular charging and my new baby the wacom bamboo tablet. From that door on right, its possible to see the beach, I didnt take a photo because the weather was not helping :D

Right then....splinters has wanted me to post my room right since the start of this thread, so i've decided that 2 years is a long enough wait for anyone...

Here is my room at uni, please note I have made no attempt whatsoever to tidy it up for this photo, hence the tub of peanuts and various culinary items. Also the majority of the blue post-its on the noticeboard are actually pieces of coursework (about 8 or 9 in total this time of year...they work me hard ;)). Oh, and my keyboard is under the bed due to lack of space anywhere else.

I like how the coffee cup makes an appearance in both pictures.

As for what's cooking, I'm guessing it's a hillbilly humidifier, those wood stoves will dry your sinuses out fast.

Can anyone imagine a scenario where Norm doesn't use the word 'scenario'?

<Edit:> Wait, is that a doggie bed on the floor? You should have got the dog in there and killed two birds with one stone by cross posting to the 'Show us your Pet' thread.

So is that what you call a "mug" shot ?:D

not a dog-bed but rather one of them exersize pads. It useful for working on the construction of low level objects; floor and such. Saves the knees and butt if you sit. Is a pot for water to boil. Can't burn the wood flooring waste. I will use it down the road for something. Not much waste though, which I was glad to see :)

Is a pretty wild change from the way it was. I will finish the room as time permits. Had to be able to return to work today so that was the goal. Needed flooring in place for office furniture and such. Paint, trim and some window coverings (9) will finish off the room nicely.Oh and one more computer and desk not currently in place :)

I put the coffee-mug on ceramic tile. It won't boil. Over where pot of water is, it will boil. Can cook on it to a degree too :D

Well it's good to see you back Norm!

I've been wanting to take a picture of our 'Staging Area', but every time I get it clean enough, then come back to it, it's magically cluttered again... weird...
