Actual Contract with AWI (General Discussion)
Actual Contract with AWI // General Discussion
Jun 2, 2003, 11:44pm
I was wondering about the website again when I thought... what is the
official, binding contract that a paying citizen has with Active Worlds Inc?
Well the first thing I looked at was the website... which said this:
----------------------------------------------
Unlimited access to hundreds of virtual worlds.
Reserve a unique citizen name for your use.
Build and own property in any of the many worlds open for building.
Your property remains under your control and ownership, and cannot be
deleted by other users.
Send telegrams to other citizens.
Send files to other citizens.
Locate and join other citizens anywhere in Active Worlds.
Maintain a contact list to keep in touch with your friends.
Choose from the wide variety of avatars available in each world you visit.
----------------------------------------------
Now is this what can be taken as a fully binding legal contract with active
worlds inc with regards to a citizenship?
Im just wondering, based on that as a legal contract we could sue for breach
of contract if a world dosent have any avatars on its OP >:) dont fret Bill
its not gonna happen.

no, it does say available in each world. so if it has no av's, i guess thats
the wide variety...
what we really could sue for is "Your property remains under your control
and ownership, and cannot be deleted by other users."
what it should say is: "Your property remains under your control and
ownership, and cannot be deleted by other users, unless they have ED rights,
then they can delete whatever they want.

lol sorry about that last empty reply.
Actually, the world property may remain under your control, but it dose not
remain under your ownership. Cause, at the end of your yearly pay period, if
you don't pay up your rent again, the real owner, AWI, takes control of the
property away from you. So I guess the control of the property isn't really
under your full control either. :)
