[View Quote] Wow, that's a little weird. He probably just set up the servers wrong. It can't be
a problem with AOL, as I'm using it.

[View Quote] Yeah, that's a problem. You have to set up the servers by hand.

Tools -> Accounts -> New (News) -> Display name = Citizen name (password = citizen
password) -> news.activeworlds.com

I agree, IE is a crappy-assed browser. ;)

(For those who don't get it, AOL uses IE as its browser of choice)

Last time I heard, their browser / proxy system couldn't handle an HTTP 1.1
request. There is a section in every Apache config file (basicaly a hack) to
work around the problem and respond with an HTTP 1.0 request.

If that doesn't suck, then I don't know what does...

AOL is lame anyways... Like brock said, get a *real* ISP.

While AOL does own Netscape, the AOL browser itself that comes as part
of the ISP software package uses IE. (Y'know... those things you get in
the mail that you wind up using as coasters. :P)

[View Quote] There's nothing wrong with using AOL to get online. I just minimize it and go ahead
with Mozilla. Who do you think owns Road Runner that you just happen to be using?
