I think he's doing a survey on the most recent consoles. The PS is gone, if you'd
include that why not N64 and the others? :P

How do you expect people to be able to honestly answer this survey
unless they own all the systems?

There's such a thing as asking for *too* much info...

that's opinion. This survey is obviously based on the new generation of
consoles. :-P I personally think it goes like this in graphics (best to
worst): X-Box, Gamecube, PS2, PSOne, N64

Too bad X-Box can't draw as many polygons as the other two can.
It's more like this according to the manufacturers: GC, PS2, Xbox, Dreamcast, PS1,
N64, SuperNintendo, SegaGenisis, NES, then all the ones predating this that weren't
really "consoles."

they dont have to answer all the questions (it says answer all if possible)
again ansers from people who dont own the console will be a separate
statistic

what do you mean according to manufacturers? I'm sure Microsoft didn't say
they're worse than Sony or Nintendo's. And I think the graphical difference
between PS2 and X-Box is blatantly obvious. PS2 is full of crappy sprites
and a very flat background. On the X-Box, it's nearly impossible to notice
the difference between areas you can't go to and areas you can. The
incredible graphics are seamless throughout the landscape.

Mm, the actual people who built the things. Not the companies behind it. The reason
you see those differences isn't really with the rendering engine, it's because of the
way the programmers implement them. If we're talking about games that are on both of
the systems, they usually write it for the xbox first (very easy because it uses the
same stuff as windows with DX). Then they take that information, make a convertor,
and change it to the PS2. This usually ends up being really really crappy, but it
works and they still get money. Hell, I wouldn't put it past me if Microsoft is
paying people to make crappier versions for other systems.
Ever notice how games that aren't multiplatform tend to look 100x's better?

Well bowen.. as you may or may not know.. the XBOX codec dosnt have any
royaltys. Nentendo and sony make you pay something like 10% profits.. so its
logical that you would make a game for xbox first untill you know its gonna
sell good before they sell it out. And I highly doubt Microsoft is paying
people to make the games look worse.

Wrong again, Microsoft makes you pay, the other two do not. Nintendo has never
charged royalties. They only did if they had to lease you the equipment to make the
things.
