AW protest ! (General Discussion)
AW protest ! // General Discussion
Jan 3, 2002, 10:51pm
There has been a protest starting up by some world owners. The following
message was given in England world today ...... England World is currently
closed until further notice as a result of the proposed AW price increases
which we object to very strongly. Other worlds are also beginning to follow
suit. No free tourist accounts will equal very little new revenue, as well
as a ridiculous price increase AW is doomed to fail if this goes through.

That's real 'productive'.....

Well I think people are just very frustrated. And as we all know, no
AW people read the newsgroups (and they are proud of that fact!).

yes it maybe "productive" IF AWcom realise their big money customers =
world owners...may..just may..pull out of AW if they don't rethink their
stratedgy. Surely doing something is more productive than shouting and
moaning about it? We can but try, can't we?

If AW falls under will they take all the other univerces down with them?
AW dose own the browser, world servers, uniservers, and galixyservers.
Not ownership buying wise, ownership program wise.
AW goes they all go, I sure hope not.

Yep - if AW folds, then so does all the universes, worlds, and citizenships,
unless they sell to a company who decides to keep everything running as it
was before....

AW is doomed. There is no hope.
AW's going to be a lonely place after Feb.
Only people who will be left will be world owners
and a few cits rich enough to pay $120 a year.
AW will only last a few more months.
I betcha AW's gonna screw the world owner's
next with a price increase! :-(

Maybe somebody WILL buy up AW< like someone bought up WOrlds, and turned it
into AW, correct? But I sure hope things just get better myself.

I have the option to renew my cit at $19.95 in Feb.
I'm still not going to renew. Everytime I go into AW
now, I get pissed off. What's the use in sticking around
if I'm not happy here anymore.

First everyone accuses of AW of listening to the "big-money customers" in
the big corporations. Now... just now when the perception is getting around
that they're starting to listen to the common user, some people want them to
listen to the big-money customers again. This just goes to show that they
can't please everybody. :)

That was a low blow. Active Worlds isn't that far gone yet. And I suspect
it won't be for some time yet.
