I read that today, too, KAH. Very, very funny article. It seems the
author of it knows the basics, but has their facts mixed up. I highly
recommend that people read the entire article to get the full "laugh
factor" out of it. =)

Quake a hacking training ground? ROFLMAO.
Snowcrash and Neuromancer hacking manuals? OMG.

Sounds like this person is not just computer illeterate, but common sense
deficent as well. Rule of thumb...

If you are unsure if it is fitting for your children, check it out for
yourself. Don't just take someone else's word for it.

3. Has your child asked for new hardware?

"Computer hackers are often limited by conventional computer hardware. They
may request "faster" video cards, and larger hard drives, or even more
memory. If your son starts requesting these devices, it is possible that he
has a legitimate need. You can best ensure that you are buying legal,
trustworthy hardware by only buying replacement parts from your computer's
manufacturer."
LMAO! "I'm a hacker...I need to buy a new Geforce3 because...I'm gonna break
into the Pentagon and their computers are graphics-intensive (that and I
wanna get the best FPS in counterstrike!)

"If your son has requested a new "processor" from a company called "AMD",
this is genuine cause for alarm. AMD is a third-world based company who make
inferior, "knock-off" copies of American processor chips. They use child
labor extensively in their third world sweatshops, and they deliberately
disable the security features that American processor makers, such as Intel,
use to prevent hacking. AMD chips are never sold in stores, and you will
most likely be told that you have to order them from internet sites. Do not
buy this chip! This is one request that you must refuse your son, if you are
to have any hope of raising him well."
Good God man! I've been insulted. lol.

lol why does everyone take this thing so seriously?? A misinformed parent could write some of these things, but others are too
obvious... for instance, Linyos Torovoltos... lol, how could someone misspell it like that? it is SOOO obvious that the guy is a
hacker (not a cracker which he talks about in this article btw) that makes fun of stupid people :)

The scary part is, even if this whole thing is a joke. There will be alot of
uninformed parents who will take it as gospel.
Afterall in America at least we have a large population of sheep, and very
few who will think for themselves if they can get someone else to do it for
them.

Ive spent more than 45 minutes on my computer once... Dont think I was
trying to hack into some webserver.... I playe Quake II all I did was shoot
some people for fun, a Healthy way to let out negtive energy in a place
wheres it wont hert people. I have a AMD, Like it better than my dads
Pentium 3. And I once asked for a New Video card... Cuz I wanted to play
games to have faster framerate. Im always getting new hard ware... not using
it for better faster hacking. My ISP was bought out and changed, I didnt
chose to... By all this infomation I must be a hacker! But yet I have no
hacking programs... wait... I have comet cuser! Indeed I have to be a
hacker, even if im not... This person should get there facts right. Just
because some one wants a better Video card, or faster Processer dont make
them a hacker, Nether does using the computer for more than 45 minutes.
(What If i have a report to type up, and I spend more thaan 45 minutes
typeing???) Nether does having Quake II. LOL that was a good laugh
anyways... Im gonna go send a angry letter to the person who made it.
