Talk You back and you will hear Chat Receive sound Post it, if that good idea or Bad Idea? ~Jacob The Hero~ tony mMay 4, 2003, 12:37am
Is this similar to the AIM receive/send sounds? Some people like it, some don't; at least it can be turned off.

I dunno, I think it would be way too annoying in crowded worlds. The
only reason I have IM sounds on is because it gets my attention if someone needs ME. In a giant chatroom or world you'd just here constant sounds that might not even be people talking to you. hehe maybe a way to filter who they're talking to like if they say your name in a sentence (or a shortened version like hey jth or hey jacob or jac) it would make noises. It's a good idea, but it might not be necessarily a good idea for
crowded worlds where you get people talking like 50 lines in less than a minute... i.e. 50 sounds in less than a minute. [View Quote] jacob the heroMay 4, 2003, 5:59pm
Well, one People will say ome of the time and other people talk to you back
one time too [View Quote] codewarriorJul 7, 2003, 3:18am
Being able to specify a sound to play for any event that happens in a world
is a great idea as long as it's optional. Another event that might merit attention would be people leaving and entering the world. This is all possible with bots, but using a bot to do this is like renting a bulldozer to dig a small plot in your yard to plant some flowers. [View Quote] technozeusJul 7, 2003, 10:49pm
Interesting way of looking at it. I thought it was more like building a bulldozer to dig a hole for a flower seed, but I suppose that depends on whether or not you can find a bot that someone else already designed for the task .
