All the zipped stuff, avatars, objects, and seqs can be passworded.
I think there should also be a way to password protect the textures also for
those who make custom textures.

Textures are jpg so passwording them is actually server side and has nothing
to do with AW.

It's possible to add an attribute to specify an HTTP password for basic/digest authentication, or perhaps extend the 'object password' and then just add a checkbox with something like "Use object password for HTTP authentication".

With 3.4 you will allow a basic protection, checking
the browser identification and the HTTP referrer.
Both can be faked though, e.g. with a proxy.
