not sure if was Lady Nighthawk responded about global sound for someone
coming into the world....and cant find that thread either in my mail... I have had bump global at entry since the beginning of 4.1and the loss of my xelagots....but for some reason although 'activate' works great for global for both view and sound, I have not heard once the bump sounds I have put around as 'alarms' to me, also global bump noise mortal.wav global Is something wrong with the way I am wording it, as you seemed to have made it sound like yours worked fine with bumps? sweets sw comitJun 23, 2006, 8:30pm
So you have a bump trigger at GZ basically? And when people tport into the
world they bump it? If so, make sure its not on the ground. Try putting an invisible object waist high for the trigger object. (AW has a funky difficult-to-fix issue with collisions on the ground). It's also possible that your visitors haven't loaded the trigger object yet. Its has to be loaded in order for them to trigger it. - Com [View Quote] cienaJun 23, 2006, 8:49pm
also i think global bump sounds can only be heard within chatting distance.
mine work fine but only in chat range [View Quote] lady nighthawkJun 23, 2006, 10:44pm
Well then it's not really global is it? Global is like the World Features
sound where it's heard worldwide. I think in the instance of objects *global* means that more than one person within range of the object can hear it ... not that it can be heard worldwide which is the true meaning of global. LNH [View Quote] sweetsJun 23, 2006, 10:45pm
I have 2 at gz...one the entry....one in air for when a friend comes
in.....neither works even in range... when I bump them I can hear it...they cannot....when they bump it they hear it and I cant.... am right beside them also tried a create name with an invisible sign to trigger it that way with the bump, in cause was too close to ground....no luck....but even the one 10 ft up when he came in he heard the wav, I did not few feet away. Yet when I bump onto it it is heard only by me. sweets sweetsJun 23, 2006, 10:49pm
activate noise .wav global works fine....create noise .wav global works
great (but not usually for entry as object not loaded) and I am right beside these bump panels....had friends testing them so know the objects are loaded and they do hear the wavs....just not globally when others bump... sweets baroJun 23, 2006, 11:39pm
If you absolutely need a sound to know when people come in, why not
create a sort of loading/welcome area that traps the people when they load. Could even set up a no chat zone around them. Then have a lovely door they need to open to go through into your world, and have a global sound attached to do the door. Can be a one-way door too to prevent people from playing the door like a piano ha. sweetsJun 24, 2006, 12:05am
that is not exactly what my world is about...they enter in a cage...always
have and always will....that cage is rigged for sound....it does not work globally.... forget it...not bothering to change my whole world to fit one global command. Just saying...bump with global for some reason does not work. sweets lady nighthawkJun 24, 2006, 6:41pm
Perhaps they attached global to create and activate and forgot bump ...
silly aw LOL, let's hope they get it fixed!? For the record tho, people do hear it (besides me) when near GZ, but no one hears it when out of range. LNH [View Quote] |
