When one needs or desires to work on something for a while without being
disturbed and having their concentration ruined and their perhaps limited
time eaten up, it is most difficult to pull off. If you take an alternate
cit (a hider), sooner or later you screw up and telegram someone without
thinking and blow your own cover! (guilty) If you put up AFK...yet you are
spotted in your world you receive grams telling you your AFK is on and you
must not know it O_O ! If you don't answer your grams and think you will get
to them later........half the people think you are busy, the other half
think they are being snubbed and get ticked. Annnnnnd, if you use the
infamous ? beside your name, you lose half your friends and an
unbelievable number of ? begin to show up on your own contact list. Last,
but definitely not least, if you use the 'block telegram' feature, people
assume they have been singled out, that you are mad at them and they never
want to speak to you again. The current statement that you are not accepting
grams at this time sounds simply.....rude.

It would be sooooooooo nice if some alternatives were added to the choices,
much like the ones on an IM proggie. Busy, Working, Out to Lunch,
etc........or my favorite would be one that would say you were not accepting
grams FOR THE MOMENT but will resume in X number of minutes or hours.

Would this be so difficult??

If one has soooo many friends you can't have a moment of peace and
apparently half of them get mad when you 'ignore' their tele's, well,
looks like a self-correcting social system.

A friend that can't respect your need to work sometimes and gets mad you
don't shower them with instant attention isn't really a friend and
you'll be well off without their bothering.

Or at least that's my code-less option...

But yes, a 'busy' flag along with the afk would be nice for some people.

Another sugestion would be to become some sort of strange semi-hermit
like me! It does wonders!

I dont havemany friends but oh yeah agree with this....I personally need an
AAK (Asleep At Keyboard)....

Dont hear from anyone for hours but guaranteed I fall asleep here in my
chair and someone will send me a teley, scaring the crap out of me and
waking me up LOL

Any other time I kind of hope someone will write me or visit while I am
working to force me to take a coffee break, ... or remind me to blink heh

AOK = Asleep On Keybord

Usually signified on MSN by 3 hours of 'xxxx is typing a message...'
