Announcing AWGays.com: a new site dedicated to the LGBT community of
Active Worlds. Since the collapse of Pink Village, LGBT users of AW have
had no central community in which to gather and discuss. Representation
of LGBT users has degraded to the point of non-existence.

AWGays.com's aim is to provide news, resources and a discussion forum,
to give LGBT users of Active Worlds a voice again.

Congratulations. I'm glad to hear LGBT folks get to have a central community
to represent them for first time since the collapse of Pink Village. It's a
shame that Pink Village has collapsed years ago. It was such a great
community. It was considered to be one of the early successful communities
that deserves the mention in the Active Worlds history. I think Bille and
other folks has done an extraordinary job for Pink Village during its early
years.

Pink Village has certainly played a major role in the Active World community
affairs. I think awgays.com is a good move toward resurrecting gay & lesbian
communities in the Active Worlds. I say that despite my, *ahem*, problem
with homosexuals because I think it's terribly wrong to hate the homosexuals
and to discriminate them. It is just that I am not most comfortable with
homosexuals, considering the fact that I grew up in the community in real
world that is mostly heterosexual (sp? >_<!), which is probably not
surprising since my hometown is generally within the Bible Belt. I don't
think that I have a most extreme form of homophobia. It is more of a limited
degree of homophobia. Very limited, I emphasize. But, in the consideration
of one of my high school friends being a former homosexual, it has given me
a something to soften my anti-homosexual attitude in the high school days (I
graduated last year) but I think it remains difficult for me to at least
completely eliminate my certain discomforts with homosexuals.

But, at least I hope that someday the divide between most conservative (and
currently anti-gay) communities and the gay communities is to be at least
resolved. But that's unlikely. But I don't approve of murders and abuses
against gays and lesbians just simply because of them being largely
un-Christian (not sure if this is also a problem with Islam either O_o). I
don't approve because murders and abuses are not simply sanctioned or even
approved by any Gods, whether it be Lord of Christianity, Yahweh of Judaism,
or Allah of Islam. Even without religion, the common sense will tell you
that nothing good is gained by simply abusing or murdering gays or lesbians
just because they're gays or lesbians. It's even stupid to think that
murders are answers to problems anyway.

With that said, may Gods of all religions blesses you all and good luck with
this whole thing.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Legion

It's not something you "get over".
There are sober alcoholics, but I never heard of a "former homosexual".

Plz explain

" (not sure if this is also a problem with Islam either O_o)."

It's a capital offence in some muslim countries. Christian culture is like
a tranny on a gay pride float compared to the islamic world when it comes to
gay acceptance.

He's probably talking about someone in the "ex-gay" movement. Ex-gay
groups are usually conservative religious organisations that believe
homosexuals can change through the power of God and some crackpot
psychriatric methods.

The general opinion outside of ex-gay circles is that denying your
sexual orientation is mentally unhealthy.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh ok

I have many Gay and Lesbian friends, so I'm well aware of all the "miracle
cures" for homosexuals.
They make us laugh. : )

As seen on the uk show "Sugar rush", last weeks episode, where some
methods of "becoming straight" range from deep brething to saying very
violent things about how god would treat homosexuals, although thats
just the show, unless because its religion, its reality? (The violent
things)

Crackpot? Unhealthy? My home, this is!!! :( Strange how you still
believe this even though you've been seeing me change right within your
midst.

Sorry, Chris, but the fact that I know you doesn't make your experience
different from others'.

I have had a few homosexual friends too. One of them claims that he is not
gay anymore but strangely enough I have trouble taking it seriously :\
sometimes I worry about him, as if he were lying to himself...
Ideally though, I'd rather hope toward a world where people don't -need-
exclusive communities. If there weren't so many pressures involved, in fact,
sometimes I wonder if everybody would just be differing degrees of 'bi'.
Such is one of the blessings of the internet, in fact; that one may embrace
the concept of personality alone in its purest, unhindered by material
qualities like gender, race, or structure.
Here's to hoping that someday one may never need to confine themself to the
standards or constraints. Though individuality is important, it should
never, ever, ever segregate you from the rest of the world. Heh. Perhaps
someday even the powderkeg issues of politics and religeon will become as
lighthearted, innocent, and frivolous as choosing a favorite color.

O_O Holy COW! I didn't know!
wait... 'recovering'? >_> ...
I'm SURE this has been covered in many many many ways but... am I the only
person that is irked by how much that makes homosexuality sound like some
sort of ... error to be fixed? I mean, uh, evolutionarily speaking it's not
necessarily very helpful to the sustainment of the species if mates sought
are incapable of creating progeny with their potentials... but it doesn't
hurt anyone--eheh--?
Er, that is, don't we have an overpopulation problem anyways?

And yet the fact that I am coming out of it in no way implicates moral value
being assigned to homosexuality. It simply means it's possible. Deal with
it.

I quite agree with you, but in my case I'd rather refer to religious
fundamentalist: the common sense will tell you that nothing good is
gained by simply abusing or murdering religious fundamentalists
just because they're religious fundamentalists. It's even stupid to
think that.
