Hi All :)
It's been a long time since I last posted. Glad to see the group is still
here :)

This is to ask if anyone out there in AW land knows anything about book
publishing? I am looking for a literary agent.
I Have written and illustrated a childrens book, with the help of my objects
and avs in Image. If any one can help out in that area I would apreciate a
private conversation in Image where I can show thumbnails of the
illustrations. Email me at imagines1 at mindspring.com if you are interested.
Thanks :)

Actually, your lawyer would know all about this since you have to sign a lot
of contracts and whatnot and since book publishing is such a common thing.

If I were rich enough to afford a lawyer I would ask a lawyer.
True book publishing is common, for people who have money and have published
before or who know some one in the buisness. I have been reading up on all
this in the net the last few days and what a night mare for some one who
isn't rich and popular already. I just need a agent to get me started, in
the door that is :)

I don't see what my age has to do with my question, but if you must know I
am 42.
How old are you blasto?
I asked for email replys. I didn't post this BOOKS? post to start
arguements.
If you are asking my age as a set up to a rude comment; BACK OFF.

You shouldn't get angry that easily, my guess is his point was that it's not that easy to publish a book for a 15 year-old... :)

Actually it isn't any more difficult to publish at 15 then at 42 or any other age. The only real difference is under the age of
legal entitlement, IE: 18 or 21 or whatever, you would need a guardians co-signature on any legal documents.

A few suggestions I will try to make to help you here.

1. Check with your local library in the resource section. Most have a book
called Writer's Market published for each year. With this you can reasearch
publishers: know who they are, who to contact, what type of writing they are
interested in. It will also give you an idea whether the publisher accepts
unsolicited manuscripts. For those that do not, you can write them a
grabbing query letter to outline your ideas.

2. Once you have a list of publishers to contact, send your manuscript
along with a good cover letter that will tell them something about your
writing, your background, your illustrations. Some accept submission by
cdrom!

I wish you the best on your endeavor. Be persistant! You can submit to and
be rejected by a dozen publishers...the 13th will love it!

Best regards,
Lady Murasaki

Well, actually, there's a little more than that. You would need an adult to
get all of the people with the contracts and such and well, there aren't
many out there willing to "waste" their time on a 15yo with a dream
